Empires: The Roman Empire in the First Century
(2001)

A tale of the Roman Empire's rise and fall
This 3½ hour walk through the Roman Empire is surprisingly good. The storyline is kept interesting by shifting between narating events as they unfold, letting experts with special knowledge tell little interesting tidbits, and having actors put voices to the writings and stories left behind for later generations to find - thus shaping the characters and plotting the events - all adding to make the 1st century come to life once again.

I cannot tell whether this documentary is accurate in all aspects, but it tells an interesting and emotionally rich story of the Roman Empire. I liked it.

Justice League of America
(1997)

This is not as bad as you would think...
...because it's got irony an lots of it.

A woman discovers she can do things out of this world. At first she's bit confused and chooses to live in denial of her powers. After a series of incidents she gets emotionally out of of balance and starts having suicidal tendencies. And how it goes from there I'm not telling. See for yourself.

One stroke of genius this film has is it's use of irony. Often the actors are pulled a side and "interviewed" like we see on behind-the-camera documentaries - only here the actors stay in character. This nifty idea lifts the movie above the run-of-the-mill super hero stories and gives it a unique touch which I liked.

See it and be surprised. I give it 7 out of 10.

Slim Slam Slum
(2002)

A truly great movie...
...if your into bollocks of any kind. Then this is the movie for you. Our 3 "heroes" embark on a journey to find love... well actually it's not that romantic - they want to score dames to tell the truth. On their way they make many rather poor decisions. All of which makes it even harder to reach their goal. Leaving everything to chance and planning only 5 minutes ahead, we follow these 3 guys around, watching them getting a few lucky breaks.

Anyway, the movie is really low budget and as such does not deliver any stunning visual effects or truly wonderful scenarios. Neither is it meant to be another true-to-real-world kind of movie. Take it only for what it is; a really weird movie with some good laughs.

I liked it.

Bottom Live 3: Hooligan's Island
(1997)

Amazingly funny!
I have only high praises for this show. 110% pure entertainment with top of the line punch lines. I only regret not being there to see it live. If you love'em two goofballs, buy this show and watch it 253 times. If you hate'em, go down to your local Blockbuster outlet and rent it. When returning the show, pick up one copy on your way back!

Langt fra Las Vegas
(2001)

Well well well, they said it couldn't be done...
"Langt fra Las Vegas" is the story about a handful of people who produces a TV-program called Jumpstart, aired on one of the nation wide channels. The main character, Casper Christensen, plays himself (he is a well known comedian in Denmark) and he is the host on the program Jumpstart. During the 13 episodes we follow Casper and his coworkers through good times and bad times. And nothing on this show follows standard procedure!!! All the characters contribute beautifully to the outrages plots and wacky dialogs. Nothing is sacred, nothing gets spared and lots of fun is made! Everything is given a twist and every joke is pushed right to the limit, making this show the best ever made on Danish hands. Director Jarl Friis-Mikkelsen and Casper Christensen have truly excelled here. And on the side note I can say that there's a female actress playing the role of the receptionist and I can safely say there's not a single male within 5 lightyears who doesn't know who she is! Nuff said!

Anyway, if you master the Danish language I highly recommend seeing this show. It doesn't get any better than this.

Flåklypa Grand Prix
(1975)

I cannot describe how well done this movie is...
...however let's try.

I'm not gonna sketch the plot, couz' plenty other people have done it, but:

The humor is outstanding, the action is tense, and one can not help getting sucked into this world filled with nutcases, daydreamers, villains, plain goofy looking types, and hopelessly stupid inventions and the characters likewise way of thinking.

The music score is absolutely perfect, the dialog is sharp and fun, the scenes are extremely well done. It simply doesn't get any better than this.

Just my two cents
