Ra.One
(2011)

One of SRK's worst movies
Any SRK films comes with huge hype and why not......he has always been associated with good and popular films. So when Ra One was announced I like millions of others were eager to see the movie. Before watching it I had only one apprehension, The director was Anubhav Sinha who had made films like Cash (Memories of my worst film watching experience). But then I thought, its a SRK film and he himself is the producer (his wife Gauri is actually the producer, I should not worry.........

With lot of excitement I pre booked my and my family's tickets. Well the The Day came and we went to the theater. 2 and half hours later thanks to Mr. Anubhav Sinha's direction (and script) and Mr Khan over acting and some crude jokes and some cool effects (the only good parts) I was reminded of the memories of Cash.........

Just pouring in money and showing special effects doesn't help a film become good. Love Story 2050 had good effects, but the movie? well lets not talk about it. The characterization is half baked, the plot, nothing, the story...... Its a fairy tale in a fairy world, its that bizarre.

The rating should be around 3 but since I saw many readers (read SRK blind fans) gave it high rating I have reduced the rating to balance it. Save money, save time, save energy.....save yourself from watching RA One..........

Shaitan
(2011)

An international Hindi Film
Shaitan, when i first heard of the title i thought it was was weird. Anurag, the producer has always been associated with different cinema, some great (Udaan), some quite bad (No Smoking) and some weird (Dev D). I thought that this would also be in the later category of weird. But I was curious, I wanted to check it out. Some subconscious inside me was telling me that this is gonna be good. Well my subconscious was spot on. This is one film that is not to be missed. To all my international friends who think bollywood is all about song and dance will sit up to this movie. On the downside this movie is not for everyone. The old and the still not adult category may not like it. It has some disturbing shots but are actually a piece of art. This is what cinema is all about, The ART. The film excels in all the departments, both on and off the camera. screenplay and direction are of the highest quality, cinematography and editing is breathtaking, background score is superb and the music is in sync with the film. The film has an ensemble cast and each and every character shines in their respective roles. Very good characterization also helps in their performance. This film like Udaan has a long long way to go. Everuone like it or not, But do WATCH IT

Clash of the Titans
(2010)

Not Worth my money
I was quite excited about the film, mainly because its a 3D film. Avatar was very good, Alice was also good, but unfortunately clash is a huge letdown specially on the technical ground. this movie was not shot with a 3D camera like avatar or Alice but was later transferred into 3D to cash in the 3D wave. this i think was the biggest mistake. i paid extra money to watch it in 3D but the results are really bad.

Specil effects were good but very amateurish in some places. the make of some of the evil characters were very untidy and not at all believable. the first action sequence with the huge crabs were though very very good. acting was good but the supporting cast was not utilized enough as their characters were not well sketched out.

Sam though did a very good job, He is now specializing in big special effects films, Terminator, Avatar and now Clash.

Expected more may be thats why more disappointed. Go watch the 2D version and save some money.
