This is a decent show with a good story line. I never read the original book and I've read the reviews that say they trashed the original story which is always lame. What is really annoyingly lame is EVERY new series from cartoons to adult fantasy interjects the current cultural junk which sticks out like an ugly sore and ends up killing what could have been a really good story. This is another unfortunate series which succumbed to current cultural pressures making it incredibly awkward.
