Skullmonkeys
(1998)

Another prime rib lost in the sea
This is one of those games that makes me extremely sad. Not because it was bad, but because it was just so good, yet not a whole lot of people have heard of it and those lot of people just don't care. It makes me sad.

It's been a long time since I've played this game (due to lack of actually HAVING it), but from what I could remember, it was just a blast to play. Jumping on monkeys and collecting items just never got old.

The music is one of those rare moments in gaming where you think that everyone, gamer or non gamer, should have it. Quirky and up-beat, it was very memorable and, once I get some money, I am, without a doubt, going to get the soundtrack.

The Neverhood has disbanded, but this game will live on in the hearts of gamers who played it.

Recess
(1997)

I call it: R.E.C.E.S.S.
I loved this show. I'm still like "OOO, RECESS!" when it comes on. I'm a senior in high school.

This has the best use of nicknames and original characters. Swinger Kid, King Bob, The Diggers, Randall (yes, not a nickname, but worth mentioning), The Ashleys (scandalous), and the list just keeps on going.

The storyline was great, the humor was good, and the animation wasn't half bad (I liked it better in first season kind of stuff, but, meh).

The only thing I don't like about it to this day is that they only had one movie. Other than that, this show is VERY deserving of a 10. THIS is what Disney should stick with, not this Hannah Montana and That's So Raven nonsense.

Bleach: Burîchi
(2004)

Stick with it and you'll be rewarded
NOTE: For sake of size, I'm ditching giving storyline overviews. On a side note, I'm not fond of word maximums....

When you first start watching Bleach, you might quit after getting hammered with Hollow hunting episodes. However, if you're one of many to stick with it, it takes a turn that will keep you hooked for a LONG time.

Around this time, it'll keep you on your toes with twists and turns at every corner until the big finale at the end of it (I won't spoil it, it's just too shocking). And then, enter fillers.

INTERESTING FILLERS. Yes, that's right. FILLERS THAT ARE INTERESTING.

Some point out that this show is a LOT like Dragon Ball Z, and they're right. However, it takes what Dragon Ball Z started and adds what it always needed. And unlike DBZ, there is no screaming to power up. Normally.

All in all, this is a great show that will keep you kicking. Keep em coming, Kubo! 9/10

The Fairly OddParents
(2001)

Decently average
I have been watching this show since it first came out. Does that mean it's good? No. Does that mean it's so bad I can't take my eyes off of it? No. It's decently average.

The plot is the story of a 10 year old boy named Timmy Turner who has such a horrible life that he is granted fairy godparents to grant almost anything he can desire. Comedy ensues.

For being a comedic show, it isn't too bad with it. Some jokes are just dumb, but some can be very entertaining and quite funny. Granted, there are the poop jokes here and there, but it just rolls on by. I was surprised, however, to see that they have some humor that not even some adults can quite understand. A nice touch.

Where this show falls flat is the repetitious nature of the series. Timmy makes wish, it goes bad, he fixes it, learns lesson. Lather, rinse, repeat. It can be quite annoying after a while.

So, while this show isn't bad, it's not really good either. If you're in the mood for an average comedy show, this could just be it. 7/10

Salute Your Shorts
(1991)

THIS is what Nick should be
THIS was when Nickeldeon was good. THIS was when it truly was a network for kids. I truly miss this show and the other shows that I used to watch, like Legends of the Hidden Temple, Pete and Pete, and Rocko's Modern Life. Though it was only on for such a short time, it was a fun ride while it lasted.

Sadly, I cannot fully give a good comment on it because of the fact that it's been so long since I've watched it and I cannot remember a lot of it. However, I'm sure a good of number of people can help you out with it.

I must track down a DVD of this show.

Remember, kids, a giraffe's tongue is purple! Or was it black? Or dark blue? Hmm...

Cowboy Bebop: Tengoku no tobira
(2001)

Delivering once again
I have always been a fan of Cowboy Bebop, so when I found out about this movie, I was giddy with anticipation. And to no big surprise, they delivered for the fans.

The plot line revolves around a man who has a bounty for 300 million dollars (as I cannot spell the currency they use). Naturally, Spike and the gang are on the case. Along the way, they discover he has a virus that can kill an entire city extremely easily. They also find out his dark past. In the end, Spike defeats him.

Where it delivers, it also disappoints. It's not as action packed as the show, but it's still a good ride.

8/10.
