Why So Serious?? 'The Dark Knight' which is a sequel to 'Batman Begins' is a successor to the previous part in every sense of the word. Right from the start of the movie to the end Nolan does a wonderful job and keeps the audience at the edge of the seats with all the CGI , storyline and the tricks that he pulls off.Even though the movie runs for over 2.5hours , we just tend to not notice that and the movie just breezes through.I think Nolan has just completed the work of his lifetime and he needs every bit of acclaim that he really deserves.
Talking about the acting , i would go as far as saying its just one man show and that would be the late 'Heath Ledger'.The guy is marvelous ,sophisticated , psychotic , mind blowing as 'The Joker'.Every person who has read the comics and is a religious follower of the batman series would know that The Joker is not supposed to be funny, on the contrary is supposed to be scary.Heath Ledger has done just that and with his acting has proved to the whole wide world what a tremendous actor he is.Its just not that he is the only one who has acted well, simply put , his acting makes others portrayal of their character childish.Look out for joker in the 'magic trick' scene ,when he is talking to the mob boss in the warehouse.
As for the Background score i would say Hans Zimmer has done a great job and the score is creepy at times , ecstatic at others.
Overall I would say a fantastic movie which should be on every movie goers 'must see' list.If you are missing this film , then you are missing something in life.On the last note i would like to add that some people might think that Heath Ledger's character portrayal as 'WHY NOT SO SERIOUS' character done in a 'WHY SO SERIOUS' way, but let me tell you, 'The Joker' is NOT supposed to be funny:)
