  • Scoop relates the misadventures of an inept journalist, Digby Digworth, played by Shaun Williamson (Barry from Eastenders) and his dog, Hacker, which is in fact a very cute puppet (and by far the best actor in the show). It is gently amusing with lots of slapstick (faces in trifle, treading in manure, etc...) and is obviously made on a very tight budget. The programme follows a formula with Digby being sent on assignment and causing mayhem. The assignments are usually daft (e.g. Digby reporting on a car powered by stinky manure) and something always goes horribly wrong (in the style of Chucklevision). As this is a programme for kids and my 5 year old thinks it is fantastic, I won't be too harsh. It is pitched just at the right level for its audience and will undoubtedly amuse children from the 5 to 10 age group, 66 year old men (like my Father) and will probably gain a cult following amongst students.
