Lalbagh
(2021)

A VERY amateur crime thriller
Don't waste your time with this. The acting is horrible, the plot is wafer thin and never explained properly and don't even get me started with the editing. I tried getting through the shoddy editing and Inspector Hegde (Ugh, why were both his lines and acting that bad?) hoping for a semblance of a thriller, but believe me when I say I regret it.

W jak morderstwo
(2021)

It's fluff, nothing more. Doesn't make it bad though
It's not an actual thriller so don't go in expecting an underdog mum who uses her senses to solve a mystery or even a serious story at that. It's an art house cosy movie with quirky characters and the semblance of a mystery, which is not so much the centre of the story but a plot device for the characters and for us the audience to get to know them better. It's the kind of movie you put on when it's sunny and you've just had too much food. If you're even a minor bit interested in watching something serious, I wouldn't recommend this and instead ask you to go for some proper action/thriller instead.

The Suicide Squad
(2021)

A movie doesn't have to be an epic for it to be good
The Suicide Squad isn't an epic. It's not about heroic deeds, a grand establishment story or the first story of a great trilogy. It's a comic book movie that goes out of it's way to make sure you understand just how ridiculous everything in it is. And that's how it should be, who is supposed to take a character called polka dot man seriously? And yet it does make you take them seriously, giving the team a sense of real camaraderie and genuine moments in between everything. The plot does get a little slow in between and all the jokes don't make you laugh, but it's a wild, exhilarating ride that knows exactly what it is. I want more comic book movies that know what they're doing instead of edgy CGI fight scene filled movies. No shade to the first movie's director, WB executives tore his film apart but hopefully they learned from their mistakes.

Too many cooks spoil the soup
I gave this movie two stars and both two are for the set and costumes. Cringey comedy coupled with too many comedians who think they're being funny, when they're just ready to laugh at their own jokes. Nothing in this movie works, from the horrible graphics to the non existent plot. The background music also seems quite out of place sometimes and all the acting feels so wooden. The basic dialogue and script too is silly and all the words spoken feel so repetitive. I feel like Yogi Babu's character at the end of all this, too tired to bother. I know guilty pleasure comedy so stupid that I laugh at it, but I can't imagine kids laughing at this.

Tuck Jagadish
(2021)

Just disappointed
The first act was okay, I guess? An all evil villain is set up (as usual) and we immediately establish that he's the bad guy by making him do 'bad things' (as usual). The early middle was a little promising with a not so obvious twist which could have been developed much better as it could have provided for a little subtlety and a way better denouement, and given the entire story a little suspense. The worst part is the fact that they made Nani so overpowered. He's much better at being natural and even though he does do fight scenes, in his better movies we always get to see him as a person, with his strengths and weaknesses. He's just too perfect here. Nani, you can do waaay better than this emotional soap drama that doesn't even use you or your acting properly. The drama is also quite soap-ish and not at all subtle, needing to spell out everything for you. Don't watch this unless you're just here to see Nani. And what's with Aishwarya Rajesh getting almost the exact same role that she got in Namma Veetu Pillai? Lol, she too can seriously use her talents else where.

Kingdom: Ashin-jeon
(2021)

A good set up for season three
Even though the story was actually interesting for once (revenge stories and zombie movies nowadays have the most basic plots), it isn't remarkable on its own, but I think that was they intended it to be. It sets up the next season very well and had some very good cinematography and performances. The story does drag a bit here and there but otherwise it isn't something you should miss, especially if you're a kingdom fan. If you're here wondering whether to watch the movie and haven't watched the show, why are you here??? Please go watch kingdom! We have prince MVP, a badass medic and a hardcore simp. It isn't something you shouldn't have watched already.
