Monk: Mr. Monk and the Big Game
(2006)
Episode 3, Season 5

Best written episode
One of the best written and most entertaining and funny episodes I've seen. The episode depicts a murder of course, and monk takes over the role of coaching girls basketball. But it is the subtle things that happen in between that make this episode hilariously funny. As usual, we see the very childish nature of monk as he responds to both Natalie and to his surroundings... but this episode in particular has some hilarious twists and turns. He has a particular fondness for a whistle that he's given as the assistant coach of a girl's basketball team. This episode had me laughing at several different intervals.

The Power of the Dog
(2021)

Snorsville
While the cinematography was gorgeous the story itself was slow moving and boring. There was no "likable" characters and no redemption. Despite great acting...I was left wishing that I hadn't wasted my time. Moving from the 60's moved more quickly than this.

CBS News Sunday Morning
(1979)

Hero to Zero
Sunday Morning has been a part of my Sunday morning routine for over 20 years. It has been the perfect relief from all the negativity and political rhetoric of the weekly news. Sadly, they have caved in to the political divisiveness that is destroying our country. I miss the heartwarming stories of artists, good-doers, and background stories of key societal figures that left me feeling hopeful. It's an epic fail that Sunday morning is now foisting their politics upon us. PLEASE STOP! ENOUGH.
