I hate to use that term, but Freaky Friday is possibly the most overrated movie ever created. If I know it any better, I'd say that it's almost comparable to a Disney Channel movie. The story is entirely predictable, the shots and editing are just television quality, the characters are straight out annoying, the tone feels distasteful, there isn't enough heart to have me feel anything, and there isn't enough comedy to make this even funny to begin. I know there are people that like this for some reason, which is fine. But other than that, this is just not worth any of my time. Maybe it might not be as horrible as the Disney Channel version. So I can call this as Disney's actual attempt to make their Freaky Friday movie, but did not go so well. One time is better than twi- I'm sorry, what? There's a sequel coming soon? If that's the case.....then I guess Disney nowadays for live action movies is about nostalgia over originality.
I'm not gonna lie, this is among the most darkest and the most depressing animated film ever made. And that's exactly what makes this a phenomenal. Grave of the Fireflies is a highly thought provoking film that represents on what war is like and how it affects lives. There's even wars going on right now and it could happen in those countries if they keep going. It gets a lot depressing the more the movie resumes the way it tells its survival story and contains characters that make the audience care for them. And not to mention with the great animation that even represents the chaotic elements for a war movie. If you're going to watch this movie, I must warn you. This is not meant for the faint of heart. This movie is meant to be depressing as it focuses on the topic of war. If you can handle something movies like this one even for someone interested war history, then this may be the kind of material that's worth experiencing. I've seen animated films with melancholy tones that are totally unpleasant. But in this movie's case, this is one of the most depressing films for the right reason.
I remember singing a couple of songs in music class back in elementary school. And that's very much how much I remembered about this movie. And you know what, there is so much to how The Sound of Music is considered one of the greatest musicals ever made. The story is absolutely heartfelt, the editing and production designs are art, the characters are all unforgettable, the acting is perfect, the songs are some of the greatest for a movie, and the historical elements are thought provoking. Not only is this a must watch, but this is also a perfect source as a beginner to music. If you ever decide to try out music or even consider being in a chorus, then this movie will definitely get you the best experience. Just like the family themselves, this movie has presented one of the best performances. Not only is this one of the greatest movies of all time, but I even consider this as one of the greatest musicals.
