Tammy and the T-Rex
(1994)

really bad that it becomes cheesy and good, and the gore makes it more cheesy
I went totally blind into this flick. I do that more and more because trailers are mostly tricking you. Already over 25 year sold and having Denise Richards in it, what could go wrong?

Well, if you ever pick this up and taking it seriously then you will be left with a bitter feeling and even as you might think it's a comedy, wrong again.

I don't know if the production took it seriuosly but hell. The sound is mostly just one the edge of distorded. Some shots are blurry. In some shots you can see the rew makingshadows on the wall behind the actors and they aren't standing still, and even a mic can be spotted here and there.

But why watch it? simply if you dig cheesy gory flicks then it's a must see. Effects are really cheap and funny sometimes but hey, the gore is attached. And then we have the dinosaur. It's mechanical but once transformed with a human brain it comes alive and it's out for revenge and it's the T-rex that makes it funny, and of course the reaction of the cops. The arms of the T even giving the big finger.

So, cheesy lovers or B movie lovers pick it up. Don't take it serious and then you may even like it. Denise geeks do know that she is in most flicks for her beauty, which she shows the last minutes. I never heard of this flick until a week ago but I well never forget it.

humor and gore attached
When I wanted to see this in the theatre i wasn't able to go due work, The other week it was already out of the theatre so I had to wait until it's official release. I didn't know what to expect because I do know most of the actors in the felsh due my work at television so I was afraid that I would see their normal acting.

But was I surprised by it, Cleymans was believable with her east European accent. Bart Hollanders was also doing his best to play a loser and he did well, in fact, they were all above mediocre. And what about Maaike with her fake boobs walking around.

Also, a rather gory flick, okay, most is done off-camera but still, the vomit, the smashing, the creature and of course the notorious scene with the girl asking not to die as a virgin. Hilarious.

Big surprise how well this was done. I liked it and the humor in it did work out fine.

wait a minute, I have seen this before
Normally I could dig scifi flicks with a twist and this one surely has that but somehow I lost my grip on it. It's full of , i, fact, it's all about time lapses and that makes it interesting but guess I have seen it all before in other flicks.

Is it the fact that it's all about how to survive in a lapse and how to keep the ARQ save that I thought, yeah, okay , and how many times this will happen again?

Made 2 years after the smash hit, Edge Of Tomorrow, same thing, live, die , repeat...

The Shed
(2019)

really one for adolescents
A lot is said about the shed. Again, it's a story about adolescents and a vampire being kept in a shed. Somehow it reminded me of Ginger Snaps (2000) but not as good.

There are scenes that took way too long and espescially the end scenes at the house, it takes forever. The bullying is okay but what happens at the shed is sometimes okay and sometimes you think, really. And the cop, what about her?

I never got a grip o, this flick and I was distracted a lot what went on in the living room so guess that says enough.

Random Acts of Violence
(2019)

only the last 20 minutes
Clocking in at arund 80 minutes it should be a quick moving story to tell it all but sadly it wasn't. The idea was okay, comic book writer and real life do come together but...

It all takes too long before it goes wrong. It's the last 20 minutes that this flick picks up speed and the horror and gore comes in. Before it's a mixture between boring moments and horror moments. The killer walks around but the murders were all years back so I didn't really got that part but must be me.

So at the end it was a so-so flick that only delivers the goods the last 20 minutes.

(2018)

more then I expected and even on the edge with gory moments
This was a nice surprise. I have seen so many horrors lately but they mostly didn't deliver except afew but this one, it did deliver if you do like slashers.

I mean, it's main lead is a youngster and so it's made for adolescents but it goes way further than other teen horrors. It starts rather easy and slowly and the viewer is tricked by the fact is it a delusion or real. And so this flick moves further between the two and delivers suspense, creepy moments, jumpscenes and even rather gory moments. The red stuff is all over.

And the acting is also way over mediocre so that's a good point too. It reminded me of the new wave of horrorsstarted in 1996 and I would file it in the style of Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

I liked this one a lot.

Perempuan Tanah Jahanam
(2019)

not bad after all but not that much of gore as people said on youtube
And suddenly Indonesia and South Korea came on the horror map due the fact that everybody was talking about this flick. And many said, it has the word gore in it and it is gory.

So finally I was able to watch it and was it gory? Nope, not as I expected as people were telliing but still it surely is worth seeing. Becaue we aren't used to se a flick from that region it is a world that opens up for the viewer. Villages and their belive in curse and ghosts and the use of puppets to entertain the town.

The score used is indeed creepy and the way iy was shot and edited is way above mediocre. Even clocking in well over 90 minutes it never bored me.

The last 30 minutes the real horror comes in and yes, there's a bit of gore here and there. Not bad after all.

Girls with Balls
(2018)

wrong turn bewteen comedy and horror
Clocking in under 80 minutes is always a good sign to make a fast moving flick. It is fast moving but it do has a few issues. It wants to be a horror and it also wants to be a comedy.

On part of the horror it surely delivers, never frightening but the killings are okay and with the slo-mo the blood is really well done.

On part of the comedy. Some parts do work, others doesn't, maybe on part I did laugh a bit.

It's all predictable and by the start you really know which girl is going to survive.

It is not all that bad and it's watchable but it doesn't know what it's wanna to be.

(2017)

weird
This is not one that is gonna be for everyone. It's a weird flick that plays with you and your mind and that's what it's all about, mindtricking.

The story is very simple. Marriage isn't okay anymore so the couple goes to another place to have some sexual fantasy. Handcuffed to the bed. But things go wrong and it's from there that this flick becomes a dark story with a lot to tell from the past.

Maybe it's a bit exaggerated towards the end with the grave digger but still worth seeing if you like weird and dark stories. And to end it, there's a bit of gore here and there.

The Craft
(1996)

from student flick to revenge to horror
This is still a classic to watch. It's made in the year that horror was reborn, 1996 (Scream) and that was the reason so many adolescents went to watch it and be honest, the acting is top notch.

I watched it back then and just did with my youngest daughter. She wa okay after seen it, she liked it. And she said, there are sentences that rae used on TikTok coming out of this cult classic.

Starts off as a normal flick that turns into a real horror. The effects are a bit outdated here and there but still, there are a few jumpscenes. But it came notorious due the fact it had Neve Campbell in it just before Scream made her great and the perfect casting of the 4 witches and the performance of Fairuza Balk.

It was so popular that it even was copied the same year by Little Witches but failed completely.

It's so nice to see it nowadays, what an excellent flick and funny to see Skeet Ulrich (Riverdale) in his younger years.

It's out there on Netflix so watch it with th efamily, you won't regret it.

The Breakfast Club
(1985)

story is still up to date
Cult classic that I have seen when I was a teen when it came out. I asked my youngest daughter, you wanna see a classic.

I didn't know if it would stand the time but once it was over she said, wow, this is a good flick and it is. Teens are still talking about this cult classic. Last on TV were they do follow some University students they came together to watch this flick and so I thought, a must see.

And it is still a must see. Not that much is happening it's all about blah blah but the kind of that is all about characterisation and things like that. And the themes are still actual, detention, not wanna go to school, being bullied, ignored, being the ideal student for the family...all there.

A must see still now for all teens and adolescents out there.

Zombieland

my rating dropped due the house situation
So it took me 11 years to watch this one, now finally on Netflix. Don't know why it took so long guess that at the time we has an overkill about zombies.

Start great an dgory and it stays so until they all arrive at the house of Bill Murray. I did like it because it was full of action and some humor here and there but once at the house it dropped from action towards even some boring moments. And it just takes too long before they move further and the gore comes back in.

Overall acting and effects were okay but my rating went down due the house situations. Still worth seeing.

Normally I skip Adam Sandler movies because comedy or humor coming out the USA isn't mostly not my cup of tea. And just before this one I 've seen a comedy that was high rated but one I found total crap. So i didn't know if this was going to be my thing.

Clocking in at 2 hours it really has to be good to make it worth seeing for 2 hours and yes, I did like it and yes, Ilaughed it out loud sometimes, stupid simple situtaions that makes it slapstick style or even just funny. The beginning, injans in stead of Indians, yep, that already worked out for me. And the donkey, men, hilarious. Sure, it do has it flows, the cricket moment is maybe a bit too long but overall, I enjoyed it a lot and hey, Adam Sandler is on my list now.

The Other Guys
(2010)

yawn
High ratings, people telling on youtube this is a must see. Well, in a time of Covid 19 there's a lot of free space to fill with flicks and series and so I watched it on Netflix.

Starts great and completely over the top and the first thing I thought, bring me this Chevy SS to my garage. Once the other guys comes in this flick tur,s from action to comedy. We are 10 minutes into the flick.

From there I did have a smile now and then but I had to watch over 90 minutes and maybe 3 smiles appeared on my face. Face it, the granny telling all that sexy stuff is hilarious. The rest was, OMG, really and boring.

So Istarted to watch what I personally have seen while visiting NY more then once. And towards the end at Coney Island I was thinking about my two visits over there and visiting Nathan's, a must if you are in NY. And then the Camaro drove away, thinking again, please drive it towards my house. Jesus, did I had a good time visiting Coney back at the end of the eighties (dangerous place) and a few years back (safe place). And Nathan's are delicious. Oops, I forgot the review, do I need to say more?

The Nun
(2018)

no need for this spin-off
What was this, It's a spin-off that's clear but to tell the history of the nun back in the days it's okay but how they told us the story for me didn't work out.

As most flicks it starts great but after 5 minutes it's downhill and it never picks up again, it's not scary or creepy, well, maube towards the end when we do see the face of the nun clearly that's a bit eerie but this flick needs it from the jumpscene's and there are a lot.

Some parts I thought huh, how becomes the Frenchman possessed suddenly and things like that, even the colors used in the church aren't used in real life.

Nope, as many said this was a no-go and for me it was also a no-go. Luckily it never became boring so it's over before you know it but the story itself sucks big time.

brutal martial art revenge flick
Underrated flick available on Netflix were almost nobody ever heard about it. As I did until someone noticed me about hidden gems on Netflix.

Gem is maybe a bit exaggerated but still. I do like the combination of Asian martial art or Yakuza flicks and Western mobester revenge flicks. This is a pure revenge flick.

The story is as simple as it could be. Young kid sees his mother being killed by the Yakuza. he goes tp prison and once released by coincidance he get involved in a mission which brings him back to the killers of his mother.

The flick is brutal and in your face, except for the ideal neighbour. Ivy is someone you never will come across, you know, the beauty queen living on her own and falls for the tough guy.

So, watch it if you dig martial art and brutal flicks.

Clocking in just around 8) minutes makes it a fast in your face flick where we do follow a gang of robbers always succeeding in what they do until one of them makes a mistake and things quickly turns into a disaster.

No fun at all, action all over and a good simple story but it's the bruutal way of live that makes it worth seeing. It's on Netflix but with the French title.

I liked this one because no Hollywoodish style.

I went into this flick not knowing anything about it except that is was classified as a horror. You need to watch it until the last minutes to really know what is happening.

It's the kind of flick that needs it from the creepy and eerie atmosphere done with the sound and the house itself. When gan is missing mother and daughter are out to find gran. And they do but something is wrong with her. Nothing is explained but it worked out fine as this is a directorial debut.

Effects at the end are just on the edge of gore.

If you like creepy horrors in stead of slashers then this is worth picking up. Slow builder but it do delivers.

I waited a while before I watched this due the negative reviews on the internet but after seen it I just don't understand thise people.

Okay, maybe it's slow in the beginning and there's a lot of scene's you think well, why and how and please explain but once things go wrong at the outpost this is a hell of a movie.

Scott Eastwood. in the dark, his eyes and voice are really lik eclint. Said that, back to this flick based on true events. The cruelty of war is shown, friendship and death are so close. Effects are just on the edge of goredom.

If you can sit throughout the first 45 minutes then this is really a good movie.

Matthias Schoenaerts was the reason that I watched this flick and Charlize wanting to work with him, well, great expectations. But this afternoon I was told that it wasn't a good movie and so I watched it 1 day after its release.

I must say, I never really get into the story. There's a lot of blah blah and action but for me it didn't work out. Acting is okay but some scene's are too long or too slow. And for an action flick this is a no-go.

Bringing in the sci-fi aspect is okay and the flashbacks are also okay but overall I found it just on the edge of boredom. It's sad to say because I do like Matthias and Charlize but this time it's a fail.

The first part is the comedy, the second part is the horror. The comedy didn't worked out fine for me but the horror did. So I was left with mixed emotions thinking what the hell is this. Because there are flashbacks that were greatfully done.

not for me
This one is filed under slasher so I plugged it in to see what it was all about. Great cinemagraphy that for sure. And that's the only positive thing for me.

Slow building with a lot of parties attending but when the killer comes in it's low based on blood, not even gory at all. Stupid conversations.

It's okay for teens to see this wiith all the booze, banging and partying. Further this doesn't offer a lot, the end when it's all cleared out even there it's to slow.

Dude Bro Party Massacre III
(2015)

fails as a comedy but those first 15 minutes are a gorefest
So this is a low budget comedy horror flick that is recommended on a lot of specialized sites as a have to see flick. So I did and what I saw left me with mixed emotions.

I've been saying it for years, comedies in the horror genre coming out of the USA are mostly not funny at all and this is anothet example. The jokes are childish, bizarre and never even I got a smile on my face let even say that my lips moved once. But I guess this kind of humor isn't for me.

So I start watching it as a horror flick and that was much better. The story itseld is pure slasher style but it's the effects used that are a must see. Not that they are Oscar worthy but the first 10 to 15 minutes are really a gorefest. Once the movie starts you really have to wait more then an hour before things go messy again. But for me those first minutes are the best of this flick.

Overall a crappy flick with almost nothing to tell.

I'll be honest with you all out there. I'm into the old Takashi Miike flicks but seen onelast week my review was simple, the gore is gone.

This one has no gore at all but a lot of red stuff, that's good for thegeeks out there but clocking in over 2 hours that's already long, the first hour is blah blah and nothing really happens. It's from halfway throughout the flick that things go wrong.

It's all about shooting with a shotgun and that's it, with Mack the Knife playing all over the killings.

Did I like it, I don't think so, even as it's stated as a mix between Dexter and Battle Royal. It's just above mediocre.

funny situations in a haunted house
1906 and 1908 that's what is said that this one was shot but who cares really, it's an early funny and even creepy flick made full of effects, easily done and also done by using as effect only the camera which shows if you watch it closely but it's an effect used way up to the sixties.

Two scene's are notorious, the table coming to life done in stop/motion and the demon at the end which scared people back then.

Nice attempt to make a combinationn between a comedy and horror and a jumpscene;
