Girls Town
(1996)

This film is why the indie are the only films that matter
Lili Taylor is excellent in this film (as per usual). After watching this film I only wish that we could see more of the other two female actors (Bruklin Harris and Anna Grace) in this film do more work. A dark film that hits home because of the solid in the moment acting. A special film. The film credits these three fine women actors with writing credits a long with the director and Denise Casano. When watching the film you feel as if you are there due to the fine acting and excellent editing. I wish we could see more from the other two actors because they were really good in this film... it seems that this film is a lost gem.

Bobby Deerfield
(1977)

Lost and Forgot.. but a real GEM!
Al Pacino is BOBBY DEERFIELD in this touching and moving film about a race car driver in a indifferent marriage who falls in love with Lillian (Marthe Keller). Deerfield buries his feelings and forgets his past until a reckless and passionate woman (Keller) who also lives in death's shadow shows him life's possibilities to the fullest. Beautiful scenes shot in France and Italy make this film even more romantic as well. As Pacino said during the filming of Bobby Deerfield, "I might have been closer to that character, what he was going through, than any character I've played". Why this film is not out on dvd is beyond me, it is fantastic. Funny and touchingly romantic. This was during Pacino's best years.

Charlotte for Ever
(1986)

Charlotte For Ever is FANTASTIC!
Both Charlotte and Serge Gainsbourg give fantastic and touching performances in this near true to life story. Directed by Serge it is a true masterful work that is really not known... beautiful and thoughtful. Charlotte Gainsbourg is very young, I think she is 15 years of age but shows the depth and star power that is to come. It is not for the faint of heart because this film is heartbreaking.

Charlotte Sometimes
(2002)

Simply Tragic!
This is a true bomb, this film has got to be IMDB bottom of the barrel listing for life... The acting is terrible, in fact J. Kim is about the worst thing in it. But, even though Eugenia Yuan at times seems somewhat to be true to the role she is simply a pretty face, but at least she has that going for her unlike the rest of this terrible cast. Please pass this one!

All Over Me
(1997)

What a wonderful film...
I just watched this film on IFC and was really impressed with how well done it was, the acting is really fantastic as well. This one was a sweet story and had real depth of the people we watched in the film. Bravo all around!

The Slaughter Rule
(2002)

Fantastic performances! Finally a real film out there...
I really enjoyed this film in every way, I am a city boy and this heartland story really was wonderful even for a city kid like myself. The acting is excellent to say the least, it's moving, and gets your blood flowing, it's simply real. First time I've ever seen Ryan Gosling's work and he was fantastic, wow this kid is like 22 years old and what a performance. Everyone is great in this one, David Morse is fantastic as well. David Cale another strong acting job here, Clea DuVall is amazingly graceful and poetic in her role... I wish I could see these actors more and more and in parts as strong as in this film. I can't say more, thanks for a wonderful film.

Wildflowers
(1999)

Clea Duvall steals the film.
The cast is not the best and the story isn't either but I loved watching such fine work from Clea DuVall. Why is this woman not in more good films? She is so wonderful in this film, she is sensitive and touching, you can't keep your eyes off of her. Wonderful Clea wonderful! Thanks for such a inspiring job! Eric Roberts is quite good as well, he too suffers from getting into a good film at times. Daryl Hannah does not do her best work but all in all she was ok. Clea surely steals the film though and I gave a rating of 7 on her acting alone.

Upheaval
(2001)

Wonderful acting !
I was lucky enough to see this short film on IFC and was so impressed by the wonderful acting in it. Sarah Adler was very impressive, I hope to see more of her in the near future! The whole cast was fantastic in fact, the film was shot so well too. Bravo!

Les cent et une nuits de Simon Cinéma
(1995)

How can you not enjoy this wonderful film?
I felt like I was in a dream, maybe one of Fellini's dreams of long ago, while I enjoyed every moment of this exciting film. Marcello is wonderful and so are so many others in this film... see DeNiro fall in the pond! Find it, rent it...

Crossing Fields
(1997)

Wow What A Nice Surprise!
I was so pleased with this film, I loved the way it moved and the acting was suberb! Why don't we see more of this wonderful actor Meadow Sisto? I have seen her in many comedies but would love to see more drama roles for her. I was so surprised how good and how much fun this film was to watch, it's in IFC from time to time, if you miss it there then rent it because you will enjoy!

The Operator
(2000)

Worst acting I've ever seen!
Please save your money on this one, this film is maybe one of the worst things I've ever seen. The acting is terrible, the story is lame and goes nowhere fast. Whoever did the casting must be insane because this film has no chemistry between the actors and it's not even good enough for cable t.v. WHAT A BOMB!

Stanno tutti bene
(1990)

What a wonderful film...
This film should not be missed, it's an amazing job by one of the best actors, Mr. Mastroianni has shown us what acting is all about. What a wonderful story... what a wonderful film!

Arizona Dream
(1993)

Fantastic film and great direction and acting!
Clearly one of the best films of the 1990's... if you have not seen all of this directors ( Emir Kusturica ) films yet you are in for a treat! Check out his other work ( Black Cat White Cat, Underground, While Father Was Away On Business, The Time Of The Gypsies ) all wonderful films that deserve a 10! In this film Johnny Depp proves why he is a great and possibly the most underated actor in the U.S.A. along side Faye Dunaway who is creative and moving as his love interest. Lili Taylor is also great in this one too, she steals some scenes in it as well, Vincent Gallo's best work that I've seen, he is actually funny in a dead pan type of way. Jerry Lewis is wonderful as well, maybe his best work since King Of Comedy. You will not be disappointed in this one, a MUST see!
