Fell short!
This film is definitely not for everyone, however the story and cast seems blant and fails to get a connection with the viewers. The theme of the screenplay is good, there are couple of good frames, and scenes which goes with the natural sound of the location are all nice. The film is evidently made on a short budget, the art team has failed miserably at times throughout the movie. Tovino Thomas has put in a good effort but fails short in embracing the character to fullest. The CGI shots are pretty mediocre for the current times , it's 2023 not the 90's. The storyline and progress is pretty sluggish and blant. The climax however seems even more confusing or do not make any scene altogether. The trailer showede potential when it was released but this film just couldn't live upto it. I would not recommend this one to much peeps.

The Goat Life
(2024)

Brutally Beautiful!
Prithviraj and Blessy have dropped the biggest, hardest and most challenging movie of their career by far. The cast and crew have made this film one of the best survival stories of all time in Malayalam cinema. Definitely we get to see a whole other dimension of Prithviraj as an actor excelling here. A. R Rahman's music combined with the amazing frames gave me a magical feel indeed. The film is about a survival journey reminding us that there is hope even at the darkest of times. The background scores are captivating and no matter where we are from it'll leave us feeling connected to this Marvel long after the movie ends. The famous quote by the author Benyamin," all the lives we haven't experienced are just madeup stories for us" is explored to the best in this movie. Kudos to the whole team for pulling this off. Feeling happy that Malayalam cinema is showing potential for global recognition.

I would recommend this movie to anybody who loves cinema.

Simple movie with a lil feel good vibe.
A simple movie with laughter and a lil love, if you don't keep any expectations you'll pretty much end up liking the film. George Kora has definitely put an effort to make this film appealing to the new gen peeps as well as the common folk.

The movie starts off a bit slow and i felt like I would quit watching after 20 minutes, but it was a slow hook.

The background scores are nice and some notes felt like I have heard it before somewhere, but that didn't bother me.

The cast n crew have definitely done a good job in sticking to the script and making it come alive on the screen. The only thing that felt a little odd for me was the cast of sharafudheen, he's totally a natural when it comes to comedy and even being a villain but it feels cringe at times when he tries to workout an emotional scene, good effort needs a bit more time i suppose. Also the movie on paper is a bit long, on screen however the director has crafted it nice with songs and background scores to take off that on screen so I never felt a lag.

George Kora, good job mate, more power to you.

Good potential,bad execution!!!
The film starts off with a bedtime story scene of a father and son. That concept of conversing the story of the film to the audience through another story is a bit cliche but I'll give it a pass. Other than that the film is about gold smuggling and hard to believe this one is the dumbest gold smuggle movie I have ever seen.

The story and the script had a nice potential which could have been made in to an amazing movie on screen, However the casting, dialogues ,shots,CGI and execution have made this one an average movie for a niche audience. The director is the guy who made B.tech, which was a hit indeed for the most part. And this movie just undermines his skill and makes him look like a noob in so many instances throughout the film.

Let's do some nitpicking here # the goons slashing the kids at 10.54 , the kid is having a cut on his shirt with blood even before the knife touches him, the same is followed and visible on the 11th minute as well , that CGI made me praise cartoon network and it's literally visible, like it's 2023 man this ain't no blind screening.

#the mom of the dead boy is doing a wonderful job at putting an utter fake shock in her face ,lady who in their right mind casted you for something you can't do.

#At 11.24 the slashed dead boy looks right on into the camera , kudos for edits!!!

#At 11.29 the goons flee the scene and that shot looks it was shot on an old nokia phone with a dusty lens.

#Asif Ali's intro shot was totally cringe , like who hotboxes a car with a ciggerate!!

I'm tired of writing up this stuff like this is visible throughout the film the scene executions look super mediocre and cringe evoking when you have expectations for the director and cast.

When you compare the final film with the hype the cast and crew have been putting on social media pre-release to this film , this one is way subpar and a total disappointment. This film is full of unnecessary fights and people raging random stuff like their all on a chemical trip disaster, background scores just adds on to the cringe factor when you look at what's on the screen for those particular soundtracks.

Also the biggest flaw in screen i could notice is the climax fall of Asif which pretty much looks like the 2023 version of the fall of jayaram in friends (1999) , and it looks way more mediocre than jayarams fall shot, like are you guys for real, it's 2023 dudes freaking wake up!!!

I'm glad i didn't waste my money for a theatre watch on this one.

Waste of time!
The story takes place in 2009 as they say yet some scenes do not add up, however the year atomically justifies this blunder ,the cast n crew have put out here on screen. It is the same cliche love story which we have seen since forever, the girl n boy ,sneak out of their home n get married against the opposing family. The script is just templated boring stuff and the cast makes it even more terrible. Naslen seems to have put in a subpar performance comparing his previous films. Meenakshi Dinesh also seems so boring n tired throughout the film. Shyam Mohan, why do you even exist man!

Mathew Thomas, Binu Pappu and Rajesh Madhavan have tried to pay respect to the roles they got . However Naslen has two friends who accompany him on the sneak out, and is by far one of the best mediocre performers who I have seen this year. Like why would you cast some amature kids like them, the director owes them money or something??

Apart from all this terror, the script is just bland n boring , dialogues are cringe and the background scores are super cliche on every shot. I would not recommend this film to anybody! What a waste of time, you would be better off watching Dora Buji!

Talk to Me
(2022)

One time watch worthy!!
The concept and logic of the movie is just a tweeked version of cliche Mediumship , however the execution and presentation i would say pretty neat. The girl who played the main character 'Mia' seems to put her skills at best trying to fit perfectly into the character, she does a good job except for some parts. The only cringe i felt about this movie was near to the end when they show the disgusting same old cliche looking elderly person as a "spirit" who didn't pass through to the other side. That totally fits to the theme here but we have seen that crap way too many times to be scary. Also this type of horror ain't giving any scary vibes anymore.

The rest of the cast and crew have done a nice job overall. It's only worth a one time watch for a horror movie!!

Not worth the time!
The trailer got me hooked and for my bad luck i ended up watching this film. It's 2023 and peeps still come with mediocre horror flicks like this from the 90's. This film ain't got no horror at all comparing the times. The main character, the boy has pretty much played the best of his abilities on this one yet the rest of the cast seems to be just blant, no emotion-no feel kinda vibe all together.

The film uses the age old method of jump scares and other audio tricks thinking it's gonna inflict horror on to the audience, what a total waste of time. Only a couple of scenes have the real monsters face, which is CGI. The monster seems to have a pretty good length of hair and they use this stuff, give us a break, we've been seeing the same stuff on a ton of movies from the past, it's just mockery now. I would not recommend this film for a horror watch.

Pizza 3: The Mummy
(2023)

SPOILING THE ORIGINAL HIT NAME OF "PIZZA"
The director and crew have put in a subpar work here comparing the orginal "Pizza". It's just another cliche templated horror crap which we have seen since forever, and the movie lost me before interval itself. The same struggling single mom n daughter story, who ends up in the hands of some goons and eventually gets killed. The one thing I totally didn't like about the movie is that they brought up a mummy doll which doesn't have any significance to the story just to fool around for the film title.

Not to mention the digital version of ouija board was totally funny and was definitely offsetting the horror mood. Rest all it's just boring jump scares and other stuff which are typical in horror genre since forever, nothing exciting at all. To sum it all up the hero of the film fights with the ghost side by side to kill the goons at the end!! What were they thinking, the guy was running around throughout the movie and since it's the climax let's make him fight and it'll be a ghost controlled fight , boom!!! That made me wanna kick the screen here. Wouldn't recommend this crap of a so called horror movie to anybody!!!

Below average at its best!! Not worth it!!
I kinda had a good feeling about the movie thinking it's Vineeth Srinivasan and the guy wouldn't go anywhere near a below average movie, Guess I was wrong entirely!!

The script is actually not so bad i would say, but the casting totally ripped it off! A lot , i mean a lot of scenes feel pretty cooked up and the characters are making a fool out of themselves throughout this film. The background scores seem sarcastically funny, maybe the director intended the same. However the dubbing totally went south with the character of shine tom Chacko, the lip movements and the dialogues are totally out of sync like even a kindergartener can figure that out. In many scenes especially on the second half of the movie I felt like shine was pretty much behaving like an MDMA junkie who's about to loose his it. The character enactment by all the peeps on screen are subpar and even a noob film school fresher might have put them to shame. Also no genuine logic applies here on screen while they are trying to show a hacker at play with shine and others. The ip addresses shown are common subnet numbers any tech savvy human can make out also the data recovery screen they show is almost like some stuff from kochu tv.

It's 2023 and they are still doing this!! #facepalm The only thing I liked about the movie was the climax and a lil comic acting from Vineeth for a couple of minutes. I would definitely not encourage anyone to watch this.

Wow! Caught me out of the blue!!
This film takes a different approach to cliche revenge stories. The making especially is the wow factor on this one. The director and crew have managed to pull something out of the ordinary boring revenge stories we have been seeing since forever and turned it in to something wow altogether. The narration, background scores, cinematography and the cast have definitely put in their best work yet on this one. We don't get to see awesome dramatic moments like the mainstream movies , but we will definitely never forget this one after watching. The story telling is pretty natural and engaging in a way that the audience would watch the whole film with their eyes glued on to the screen pretty much. The film shows us the beauty of wide angle frames to the fullest , one of the few films in recent Tamil cinema, to make use of wide angle shots in a way that it adds lot of perspective in an engaging manner. Would totally suggest this movie to anyone who thinks cinema is a one man job may it be the actor or the director , cause this will prove you otherwise!!!

POOP WRAPPED IN GOLDEN PAPER
By far one of the best examples ever made in Malayalam for how to mess up a movie from title card to end credits. OMR YOU GENIUS!!!

The script is pretty much flawed from beginning to end with mediocre, vomit evoking worst performances from everyone on the screen. The music and songs are utterly painful and would never ever be played anywhere rather than this doomed film screening. I thank myself for not wasting my money going to the theatre on this one. All the new faces the director has brilliantly casted for this one have tried their ever best to make it look 200 percent artificial mockery of a performance. The only engaging thing about the movie is the part where they all do MDMA, but still even that looks superficial as time progresses and we get to know the whole gang including the crew and director are inglorious noobs. I would never ever recommend this piece of literal headache to anyone on this planet!!

Damn it , Just another hype with snail script!!!
I was super excited for this one just like any other film enthusiast in Kerala cause of the casting and the continuous delay for the release. All this excitement and delay definitely build up a huge hype around this movie from the day it was announced. However to my surprise the film ain't living up to the hype, i would say the script itself killed this film. The script seems to be one of the most laggy and boring ones i have seen this year or the past. The cast seems to be the only good thing about this film. Joju George, Arjun Ashokan and Poornima Indrajith have all performed pretty well comparing others on this slow pace script. Nivin Pauly seems to be a pretty bad choice for the cast here, feels like he is undermining his former performances. The background scores are dull and depressing to every single scene on this film. The director might have wanted to pay respect to the original story behind the script but the film just doesn't make it work for me. The movie starts off with a little energy and it slowly digs its own grave as the story progresses. By halftime all most everyone in the theatre was like where the hell is this movie going!!! The supposingly second half is way more dull and dead, characters end up here n there with the story going somewhere else. I would only recommend this film to those who are really spiked about the true story behind the script and has got 3 hours to kill. Definitely didn't expect this level of dullness from the director and crew, could've done a lot better!!!

Just Hype, not worth it
I was so excited for this movie cause of the hype that's been building up ever since the trailer release. However the movie in particular seem to disappoint me the most this year. The plot is like decades old cliche stuff which will bore you to death if you're a 90's kid. The cast is pretty vague on character enactment and it feels so mediocre throughout the film. There is nothing of horror in this movie, just a waste of time and money. Supposingly they are making a sci-fi horror here and portray a somewhat morden age and people , yet the characters seems to be so dumb and we end up seeing totally illogical idiotic screenplay digging its own grave on screen. We have had chucky for godsake, this one ain't even good as a chucky rip of with an atomic pinch of Ex Machina. I would rather recommend the former 2 films than to waste time of this desperate attempt at making an sci-fi horror. Just Hype ,not worth it!!!

Entertainer 100 %
One of the best comedy horror flicks of this year. The screenplay and cast have totally got me to fall in love with this movie. From the beginning to end the story and characters takes us on a comdey packed journey without loosing an inch of thrill. Every single scene is executed with originality which makes us don't wana take our eyes of the screen. The background scores and songs are spot on making every audience member feel they got their money's worth. The content enacting and execution really makes the audience get a taste of that adrenaline rush paving the way for the unexpected yet savoury climax which makes us wait for the next one.

Prey for the Devil
(2022)

BY FAR THE WORST BORING STUFF OF 2022
I was sceptical about this movie at first, after watching it I feel like punching the filmmaker in the face. This movie don't even deserve a three star, I only gave it 3 cause of the crews desperate efforts. Its 2022 and the peeps who made this film are still in the 90's. The story n background is one which has been freaking overused like hell, I can't beleive the audacity of peeps to make something based on redundant boring stories like this. The cast is not so terrible, yet the story makes them too boring to watch. Cinematography also way outdated for this year. They still trying to scare peeps with haunting soundtrack ethereal frames, jump scares. Wake up already people use these stuff for kids rave these days. I would never recommend this boring redundant footage to any movie lovers. SHAME ON YOU HOLLYWOOD.

Over glorified crime story
The trailer had me excited with buzz word references from movie critics and stuff, however the movie seems to disappoint me with all my expectations. The cast seems lousy yet fit for this particular one and half hour documentary they call a movie. I felt like i just watched a crime documentary which lacks essential elements to get you hooked on. The dialogues and script seems to fall apart very early in the first half itself. After the cast commits to the main element of this particular documentry look a like film you can pretty much predict every thing after it. There are a lot of other movies out there which have executed the same subject in an engaging manner. The climax is all too cliche and even a school kid can predict the same. This is definitely all talk and no walk on this one. I would not recommend this to anyone for the hype. Just not worth it, there are way better content out there than this one.

A good watch at this halloween time!
The film starts off with a little tease of horror to get you hooked on and it has worked on me ,definitely. The main theme and execution of that particular trigger of horror stands out from the recent ones ( on most scenarios). The film has that exciting element which leaves you wondering after its finished to some level. The cast and crew has definitely done justice to the script as best as they can. Apart from all that you get to see cliche stuff of the genere here and there, the jump scare shots, unpleasant longing soundtrack, typical character behaviour and hallucinations put into perspective. Collectively everything adds up and they have done justice to the film (almost). I would definitely recommend this for a one time watch to anyone who is tired of the recent atrocities they have done to this genere.

Total Hype and Trauma for 3 hours
This film in particular was hyped off the roof due to the main actor aka Vikram. I was excited to watch this as the actor brings versatile acting and challenging charisma to each and every role he plays. Unfortunately the film's too bad of a script and mediocre shots combined with idiotic editing killed my excitement to the core. Vikram dresses up as different characters through out the film which left me with a feel of Kamal Hassan's Dasavatharam(2008) revised with a new actor in this one. Puns apart Vikram have tried his best to pay respect to the bad script as much as he is able to, however the big budget three hour action drama seems to miss out big time on simple orderly sequencing shots as well as editing. I would only recommend this one if you have got three hours to spare and nothing else to watch.

Thallumaala

Under 25 movie
An over glorified teens movie. The film is particularly targeting the under 25 age group obviously cause of the adrenaline rush you get at that age apart from that this one lacks a captivating story and story telling is pretty much like an excited teen on sugar rush or something. The songs seem to be well mediocre and trash af. Good casting but didn't pay off on screen as everyone has nothing entertaining to enact. Fans who keep saying this has got awesome fight sequences and the movie has pays respect to its name are simpletons who has got no exposure on world cinema. I would only recommend this film to a teenager.

Pathrosinte Padappukal
(2022)

Not so much fun as hyped
Was excited to see the film after the trailer released as it was pretty appealing but to my bad luck the film seems to dull me. The story line is a typical cliche one, the main character as portrayed ( second son of pathros) seems to be a noob actor who ain't doing anything to captivate the audience or even to pay justice to the story line. Most dialogues by the junior artists such as the wife and mother of pathros as well the friends of the early said wannabe protagonist just made me wana run out of the theatre. There are couple of humungous editing errors as well eg: the tattoo scene of character "Arun" they just show the scene on a total misorder. The only good thing I can say about the film is the performances of the two brothers of the wannabe protagonist, especially the younger one is pretty lit. Rest all just a waste of time and money. I wouldn't recommend this film for a theatre watch at all.
