Rogue One
(2016)

Has all the magic of the original trilogy
There's been some pretty average efforts from Disney recently with the Star Wars movies. And in my opinion, bringing The Emperor back in Rise of Skywalker was the biggest crime in movie history. But this movie, Rogue One, is amazing. Great pacing, insane action sequences and it's just an end to end brilliant film. It has that magic that hasn't been scene since Return of the Jedi. It perfectly ties into the beginning of A New Hope, the story has weight and meaning, good humour, and there's none of the childish crap that always finds its way into the other Star Wars prequels/sequels. This movie slaps, I highly recommend.

The Walking Dead: A New Deal
(2022)
Episode 18, Season 11

Oh god please make it stop
Six episodes to go after this and STILL nothing is happening. Boring scene after boring scene. How are people reviewing this and giving it 9/10!? I'll tell you how. They haven't watched it. The details they include in those reviews are all in the promo materials. There's no way you could watch this and give it more than two or three stars, it's just so mind numbingly dull and boring. I'm going to finish the season as I'm too stubborn to stop now but make no mistake, this is not a fun show to watch anymore. Remember the first few seasons where genuinely exciting things happened all the time? How far this show has fallen is mind blowing.

Season one review - a show for people who like arguments
If you like watching people argue then this show is for you. Literally every scene is two characters disagreeing about something and they proceed to argue about it. Then the next scene, two different characters disagree about something and argue some more. And so on and so on... I hope the next seasons get better and diversify a bit, as constant arguing gets tiresome after a while.

Very entertaining.
I imagine people will either love or hate this, as it's made in quite a punchy and provocative style which you'll either embrace and enjoy or find messy and annoying. Personally, I loved it. Fresh and different, great performance from Bill as the lead and all the supporting cast were enjoyable too. My only concern was it gets a bit repetitive towards the end but the length of the series suits the story and it was a wild, funny, engaging watch. Loved it.

Peaky Blinders: Sapphire
(2022)
Episode 4, Season 6

Honestly what is going on...?
I thought this season would be about Tommy branching into the US, Tommy vs Michael, the fight against facism, and revenge on Billy for informing for Mosley. So far... none of it has happened. Four episodes in and it's just ticking along. Yes Tommy is losing it, which is interesting, but there's only two episodes to go now and still nothing is really happening. Arthur is unbearable like always, Ada has some cool scenes but not enough to majorly influence the plot and don't get me started on Finn. Where the f&(k is Finn!? His big mouth set off last season's finale and now he's just vanished..? Such a great show and they are bottling the last season big time.

The Walking Dead: The Rotten Core
(2022)
Episode 14, Season 11

Please stop with the 10/10 reviews.
Please. It's so ridiculous. Just stop. The Walking Dead has deteriorated into an average show that most people are watching because they've committed so much time into it over the years and can't just stop so near the end. Seasons 2-5 had some 10/10 episodes, since then the episodes are average television at best. Giving it 10/10 is a joke.

Pam & Tommy
(2022)

Started well but tailed off big time
I thought the first episode was really cool and was excited for the rest. Then in ep 2 Tommy has a conversation with his penis and I started to change my mind. This show was lame. Would have been awesome if it was condensed to 5-6 episodes as there are long stretches where nothing happens. The guy playing Tommy Lee is super annoying but it's not his fault, Tommy Lee is an annoying guy and in that area he nailed it. Seth Rogen is cool and I am a massive Nick Offerman fan so was disappointed his character doesn't get that much screen time. 6/10, could have been way better.

The Walking Dead: New Haunts
(2022)
Episode 10, Season 11

Lemmy would turn in his grave
This isn't the worst episode, some insight to what's really going on at the Commonwealth is explored. Definitely doesn't deserve the endless 10/10 scores the new episodes have been getting, but it's got some decent scenes. But the little kids recommending Motörhead records to one another is just weird and if Lemmy saw this he would be pissed. 6/10.

Dark
(2017)

Just watch it. It will blow your mind.
Why are you not watching it yet? Get off of IMDB and get going. Leave all pre-conceptions aside and just go with it, this series is a work of art, impossibly complex and therefore incredibly rewarding once you get your head around it. Have you started yet? Get started. Now.

The Walking Dead: For Blood
(2021)
Episode 8, Season 11

Not terrible but fails as a mid-season finale
It is so ridiculous seeing all the 10/10 reviews that come up so quickly on here for TWD episodes, just minutes after they air. Reviews that give no detail on what happens and it's clear the 'reviewer' hasn't seen the episode at all and is probably a bot. This episode is not 10/10 at all. There are some good scenes, well only one that I can think of really. The storm that hits Alexandria is pointless and seems like it was filmed with a really restricted budget. The Reapers is a more interesting plot point and what happens to Pope was really cool and unexpected. Darryl is put in a really awkward position and all in all this was good stuff. Then the finale.. less said about it the better, but I'm blown away that letting off fireworks is how they thought they'd leave the first half of season 11 hanging. Not a terrible episode, the plot actually moves forward a bit with the Reapers but nothing happens at Alexandria that's interesting or exciting at all. As a mid-season finale it is very underwhelming. Cheers.

Kastanjemanden
(2021)

Solid murder mystery, fully enjoyed it
The plot of this show is fantastic. None of the characters are anything too original and may seem a bit cliche to begin with, but as the plot unfolds I found myself more and more invested in the story and couldn't stop watching. I think that's the biggest strength of this show, that the middle episodes are solid with no boring ones, it plays out very consistently. The subtitles in this for English speakers come thick and fast, you can't look away at all so might be an idea to leave the phone in another room so you can pay full attention to the plot. Good acting, beautifully filmed and a good story, I really enjoyed this one.

The Walking Dead: On the Inside
(2021)
Episode 6, Season 11

Surprisingly good episode
The 10/10 bot-created reviews on here are so tiresome, but this episode was really surprisingly cool. I'm only watching TWD as I always have and I'm too stubborn to stop so near the end. Most episodes are boring and disappointing but this one had some cool scenes. Connie and Virgil trapped in the house was great, and some genuinely scary scenes played out. I don't care about Virgil at all, can barely remember who he is, but Connie is sweet and I found myself really worried for her as the episode goes on. The other story line with Darryl is more of the same, not really moving the story forward at all but that's TWD for you huh? If you tune in and out of TWD, this is definitely one of the increasingly rare episodes that you really must see. Cheers.

Dave
(2020)

I tried so hard to get into Season 2
Season One of this show is great, it is funny and engaging and the characters are all fun to get to know. Dave is great as the main character and Elz and Emma are stand outs of the supporting characters. I couldn't stop watching it and got through all ten episodes really quickly. Was really excited for season two.... and what a let down. It's just not funny anymore. I got the feeling in ep 9 of season 1 that they were running out of ideas and trying to be funny just using shock value (I'm referring to the scene where Dave poops in the lake). Season two takes this to new heights. Dave and co just try to be as gross as possible and it's not at all funny, just weird. Weird that they wrote it in the script and thought 'yeah, that'll make people laugh'. Maybe the season gets better towards the end...? I don't know, I had to work really hard to stay with it for five episodes then literally couldn't take anymore. Dave is just a whiny and selfish, and he uses and burns everyone for his own gain. It's well produced TV, but it's not fun, interesting or funny at all anymore. My advice is watch Season one and then just do yourself a favour and leave it at that. Cheers.

Knives Out
(2019)

Enjoyable other than Daniel Craig
This movie is a bit of a let down. Overall a reasonable story that unfolds, and it keeps you interested. The ensemble cast is really cool, Ana De Armas does a great job, as does Chris Evans and Chris Plummer. Almost everyone is fun to watch... other than Daniel Craig. He was obviously trying a new twist for his character and it flops big-time. His accent is terrible, not believable at all! This is the first movie I've watched with him in it where I hated him. His South African accent in Munich was on point, so he can do a foreign accent. But this one just sucks and to be honest, his accent alone spoiled this whole movie for me. If you can get past the way he talks, you'll probably really enjoy this film. It isn't taxing, just a fun story that's nothing too original or crazy. Cheers.

The Flight Attendant
(2020)

A balance of good and bad
I really enjoyed the plot, and the way it is a combination of real world, past memories and the main character's imagination. It's a little confusing but well written. The pacing is good and kept me interested most of the time. What I struggled with was the main character. If you are capable of watching six hours of Kaley Cuoco freaking out, yelling and arguing with everyone and anyone then you'll be fine. Cuoco does a nice job, but her character sucks. Makes really dumb decisions, blames everyone else for her faults, drinks excessively constantly and lies her face off to her friends. More characters are introduced as the episodes go on, which is a relief as it was becoming tough watching Cuoco in every single scene. Overall a pretty cool show but some flaws. Also shout out to the theme music in the intro, so snappy and cool. 7/10.

A Quiet Place Part II
(2020)

Not amazing but still good. Ignore the haters.
There are so many haters leaving bad reviews for this movie, it surprises me how many people who don't make movies just bag and whinge about them. This movie is pretty cool. To be honest I found the first instalment forgettable and had completely forgotten what happened in it. Oh yeah, the dad died... Even so, this movie is well made, yes the characters do dumb things but so what? The directing is great, Cillian Murphy is good as always, Millicent Simmonds is also awesome and it's not very long so doesn't get boring at any point. Just watch it and then you'll see too that the millions of haters leaving bad reviews are hipster movie losers with nothing better to do.
