No Other Land describes the situation at the occupied West Bank. The Israeli occupation and apartheid policy has been going on there ever since 1967, and the film describes the situation through the relationship between two friends, one Israeli and one Palestinian. Obviously this film is heavily criticized by those who get their true cruel portraits painted in it, but it's a documentary, and then again the Israeli settler mob has again just confirmed their real nature by violently attacking Palestinian director of the film, Hamdan Ballal. Further, the IDF does the same as Ballal has been attacked in the ambulance and detained by military personnel. This is Reality, happening Right Now.
Canada - one of the best countries to live in - but for who? There is an endless number of dire examples to how the Canadians have mistreated the First Nation population over the generations. It is no better than what has been going on in the US, and in relation to the Canadian ostensible image as an environment friendly nation - think again. Oil is a big dirty and cruel business also in the planets second largest country, and the regards to the well being of indigenous peoples come very much second, if it is present at all. Yintah profiles the Wet-suwet-en First Nation, as they fight to protect their traditional lands from natural gas pipeline developments. The film has won or been nominated to at least seven awards, and just won the HUMAN Rights HUMAN Wrongs Main Award 2025, at this documentary festival in Oslo. In a wider issue it reflects the oil companies true concerns about the climate, nature and indigenous peoples, so watch the film on Netflix and give it your ratings here, and at other film communities. That's the least you can do.
Flight Risk, is first of all not a good title. And why is Mark Wahlberg the poster image, when it's Michelle Dockerey who is the obvious main character, probably together with the airplane? With Wahlberg's bloody face one might think it's another action thriller, when it's really some kind of action comedy, also because Topher Grace in his acting appears just as an adult version of Eric Forman. Moreover, Wahlberg just isn't funny, however much he tries to be. Dockerey's acting performance is the only element that saves anything. Director Mel Gibson allegedly said this film only was made as entertainment. There seems to be no other intention to it, and it failed in the effort, so this film is a total crash landing.
