Meg 2: The Trench
(2023)

second half is like watching sharknado
The firs Meg was fun and easy to watch. Mindless fun. Even though is barely based on the books and the main character of movie Jonas is the completely opposite as the book Jonas the movie was still fun to watch.

This second entry started off good(ish). Over the top action with unrealistic stunts. It was like watching any of the latest Fast & Furious crap. The nerdy scientist that Jonas is in the books (yes, there are several of them) is turned into an international man of action a la Mission Impossible style.

Still watchable in a way.

Bu then at the second half of the movie everything sunk.

The lack of bloodshed made the movie lame. The action scenes were flat out dumb. Some scenes had horrible special effects. It was like watching another sharknado movie.

I was looking forward to this, but I ended up highly disappointed.

True Lies
(2023)

yeah....no!!
True Lies is one of the greatest movies of the 90's. It was fun and original (I know, its a French remake).

I think what is going to make this show fail is how different it is from the source.

Some other user stated that the wife was too perfect and I agree. In the movie she was very simple with an ordinary life. On the show she is pretty much Jason Bourne. The whole linguistic thing was laughable. Basque? Seriously? Even in the Basque region a small percentage of its population speak the Basque language.

And where is the plot with the fake spy trying to get into her pants?

I think the departure from the source plot is too much. A different name and dissociation from the Arnold's movie and maybe I would continue watching, but as it is I'm going to pass.

Ginger Gonzaga is absolutely gorgeous though!

The Guilty
(2021)

couldn't finish it
Never saw the original. Maybe one day. This movie tho, it's horrible.

The acting by Jake is pretty solid, he's a good actor and it shows.

The movie itself is full of unrealistic set ups. A cop demoted to 911 operator? Nope. It's two completely different jobs. You can't get demoted to a different job. Being a 911 operator requires long training and many tests to prove you're fit for the job. Cop with anger issues just get put in administrative leave. Completely unrealistic. He is demoted , yet he's walking around a civilian environment with his gun? Why he has his gun? What the hell?

He is, as a 911 operator, talking to other cops entering a room. The cops are asking for an ambulance...to another operator in another line. What? Why?

The film is so inaccurate that is insulting.

There was obviously no research or an advisor on set to point out all the stupidities.

Just horrible.

Us
(2019)

oh boy - spoilers but who cares
I wanted to like this movie but i just couldn't. My disappointment started with the character of Abraham who turned out to be a comic relief. And annoying to say the least. The twist (?) at the end leave you with a bunch of questions and rendered the movie plain dumb. The entire society living underneath; where they get the clothes from, food?, what's the ultimate plan? I'm sorry but this was 1) not scary at all and 2) plain dumb. save yourself the time and watch something else.

I'm Your Woman
(2020)

a baby crying for the entire film
Man, I love kids. I really do, but a movie with a crying baby for the entirety of the flick if not my idea of entertainment. Could've been a good movie but the endless crying of that baby really killed it for me. If you can put up with that sound go for it and give this movie a shot, if not....don't even try it.

The Midnight Sky
(2020)

meh
The movie was well directed and the acting was excellent. But not even the twist at the end was able to save this snooze fest. The beginning was good and the last 12 minutes were ok, but everything in between was absolutely boring. Nothing happened. Lots of pointless scenes that contribute nothing to the story. Scenes of the actors looking at something not even talking. Good effects but absolutely no story whatsoever. Super boring flick.

Terminator: Dark Fate
(2019)

bad reviews only from insecure males.
Don't listen to the insecure dudes telling you this is a bad movie because has a secret agenda just because the main characters are females. All the triggered insecure males on board of the "oh my god. a female can't be an action hero, let hate this movie" train. The movies have great action and really good effects and I think plays a great homage to the original movie and a bit to the second one. The plot was good, simple but still good. Makes sense that Skynet no longer exist because John and Sarah destroyed it at the end of T2 so is natural that humanity continued its path of self destruction and a new entity was created instead of Skynet. The Rev 9 was good, kind of like the T100 in T2. The actor was spot on. Again, it's a really good movie that has the feel and vibe of the first 2 and ignored the rest which is good. All the bad comments and trash talk comes from insecure males still living in the 70's that can't stand how come a female has a leading role in an action flick. Watch it for what it is, a terminator movie that is really good and ignored the triggered trolls that can't stand the fact we live in 2019 and women are no longer inferior to men, and by the way I am a dude.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
(2016)

I liked it
**spolers ahead*****

Long? Yes. Slow? At the beginning the pace was a little slow but was necessary to build the story.

The cast was great. Afleck as Batman was superb. Cavill as Supes was great and Gador as wonder woman was perfect.

Don't listen to critics. I hated the Revenant and critics loved it. I hated Babel and critics loved it. Don't listen to critics.

I read somewhere that Lynda Carter complained about Gadot's WW custom not having the blue, red and white. Really? First off; it's a comic book character so who cares and two, WW is from themyscira which is like Greece, so she's not American, she's not from Texas. The same goes for the ppl complaining about a non American actress playing the character. She's not American!! WW is not American.

Cyborg cameo was OK.

Aquaman cameo was pretty good. Momoa certainly looks the part and again for those who think that the USA is the only country in the world; flash news!! Aquaman is half a fish, so who cares he's not a blonde/blue eyes from Minnesota.

Flash cameo.......I don't know...the flash from TV seems more the part.

Overall good movie. Not sure is Doomsday should've been the main villain. And the whole plot of Luthor creating Doomsday was kind of mmeh. Doomsday should've been save for when the Justice League is fully established.

Interested to see how they bring back the boy scout after this one.

Good movie. Don't compare this film to the Marvel films. Don't be an idiot. They are just movies so just shut off your brain and enjoy. More important things out there that argue about a movie about ppl with powers.

Cheers

Fast & Furious 7
(2015)

Was Uwe Boll behind this? cause is one bad movie.
Seriously!! This movie was simply awful. Unrealistic even for a film. A helicopter flying above Los Angeles and no government agency picked that up and do something about it. Explosions all over the city and you don't see one single police/military vehicle. Explain to me how a group of garage monkeys without any military background can survive all those attacks and military personal dies left and right. Toretto (Diesel) jumped in a car from the top of a very high building while collapsing. For some anti-physic law reason he fall on top of the wreckage. They pull him out of the car and has no visible injuries but appears dead. Walker's character start CPR (which by the way CPR does not restart the heart)but then he stop cause Toretto is freaking dead; however, Letty manage to bring him back to life with the power of love. The Rock saw the mayhem in the news while at the hospital. So obviously he suit up. WHy did he have his gear and so many weapons at the hospital. Everybody who ever been at the hospital for just one night knows how hard is to find your own underwear, let alone your entire wardrove, but he conveniently didn't have that issue. Then he stole an ambulance(cause after all the destruction there were no injuries and nobody was in need of one so he found one just parked outside the hospital with the keys in ready to go)and then he managed to find everybody and crashed the ambulance on a freaking drone while jumping head on from a bridge and sustained no injuries. The action was dumb. Tony Jaa was underused. How the heck did Jason Statham survived? again, with no visible injuries, not even limping. F&F 5 and F&F 6 were actually pretty good but this one was just an abomination. I have so many thing to say about it but I already spent too much time on this. The Paul Walker send of/tribute was very nice though. RIP.

Parallels
(2015)

Excellent
I haven'written a review in a long time and the only reason I'm doing it not it's because this show deserve a chance. And maybe the more people write about the show the more attention will it get. Not original at all (remeber Sliders?) but for sure very well written an even though not Oscar material the acting was superb. The production value was excellent and the directing very good. The cliffhangers at the end left so many question than makes it necessary to turn this into a TV show or miniseries. I just want to know what the man in the elevator was about to said and what's the deal with the triplets.

Please give us some more.

Rurôni Kenshin: Meiji kenkaku roman tan
(2012)

Reasons why this movie is good.
1- The acting was superb. Every scene was naturally acted and you can connect with the character. 2- Beautifully directed, every angle every scene. 3- Great story. Personally I am not very familiar with the manga but sure it was a very good story. And the most vital reason why this movie is so good it's because was not made by Hollywood. Thank god there was no Singer, Lee, Raimi or Burton linked to this project because as we all know us whenever a Hollywood director touch a comic/anime/manga etc the results are usually a disaster. Dragon Ball Evolution is a prime example.

So, let keep it this way and let the Japanese make movies base in Japanese mangas and keep American director away from it.

Safety Not Guaranteed
(2012)

Directors like T. Burton should learn from this.
Little gem I came across. It's proves that if you have the talent and vision you can make a great movie with little budget. Like I said lots of directors from Hollywood can learn from this movies how to make an honest, precious film without the need of bottomless budget and overpriced actors. This movie has a smile yet great script that was seasoned with a remarkable direction and production values and polished with great and talented acting. Great ending with a "kind of "what the heck" twist to it. I'm not going to go into a detail review like many other users that seem to have the need to write a transcript of the whole movie. I recommend this movie to any one.

Resident Evil: Damnation
(2012)

Great
Loved it. The animation was superb, much better than the previous film. The story depart a bit from the original resident evil style, no zombies , but rather Lickers and some character from resident Evil 4 (the video game); however, sticks to the scene that a Resident Evil movie should be. Some people might not consider this a zombie movie but hey, are such thing as real zombies, is not a documentary that should be accurate is it's a movie and it's a fun movie with great action scenes, especially when the president lady fights Leon and Ada. The battle with the Nemesis was excellent. Excellent movie. Can't wait for another one. I highly recommended it.

Total Recall
(2012)

pretty good...
...missing the one-liners though. I just hate how many people write a review by explaining what the movie is about. I know what the bloody movie is about. Everybody knows what the movie is about. So please stop writing a plot summary. If you don't know this is another movie based a short story by some dude, and the second one made having Arnold in the original then you need to talk to people more often. And don't tell you are writing a nutshell review that seems an essay for a college degree.

I liked this movie.

Good action. Decent acting. Great FX.

Keep the same story as the 1990 version with some differences, that I won't point out because everybody here already single them out.

In my opinion the only missing thing is the one-liners that made the '90 version very funny. Colin was too serious and there was no sarcasm at all.

"See you at the party Richter" "Consider this a divorce" "Get to the chopper"....oh wait that's from Predator.

Anyhow, I liked this movie, but I love Kate B.

Paranormal Activity 2
(2010)

holly crap what a chity movie.
I think that some people who gets scared by this movie might be too sensitive or fearful to pretty much anything out there. Seriously, like the first one this is pure garbage halfway into the film and I was wondering why everybody call this film scary at all. 45 minutes into the film and nothing happened. There was one scene that lasted about 5 minutes and it was nothing but a shot of this retarded couple sleeping through the night and the only thing that happened during the night was that the bedroom door moved about 5 inch. That freak you out people? This movie is pure garbage. For real...I turned it off close to an hour into the movie. I rather watch wedding videos of people I don't even know. The only scary thing about this movie is that they actually have a third one and most likely a bunch of mentally handicap people will soiled themselves over a freaking curtain moving back and forth....and they wont shut up about how scary this it. Save yourself the time and do not watch this.

Batman & Robin
(1997)

how to blow 125 millions by Joel something..
worst movie ever made period. to quote another user here that title his reviews as "(film tittle)in a nutshell" the only different is that I won't write an essay about it and I will keep it brief, after all is my humble opinion on a movie and not a novel. bad movie..period...everything is just plain awful, the cast, the fx, the script, everything. you couldn't make a worst movie even if you try. the whole batman universe is taken in the wrong context. Bane , seriously? the most important character in batman world and....OK. just a horrible movie. what a sad way to spent millions and millions of cash....well most of that money went to the director and the cast. bad movie

Sucker Punch
(2011)

I liked it
Someone here wrote "I'm not sure how this movie got such rave reviews by some people, oh wait yes I can, the ONLY people who can possibly like this film are fantasy/anime/comic book junkies!" OK...so? It's a movie made for the comic book/anime lover. With a title like "Sucker Punch" what do you expect. It's not the stupid English patient.

The girl escape reality in two level. At in the hospital she retreat to a "brothel" and when she dances in this brothel she escape to another fantasy world that is related to what she and her friends are trying to achieve.

Snyder is a great director who can do very visually stunning films such as this one and 300. Can't wait to see what the new superman movie will be like. Hopefully better than the last one.

I liked but like I said is a movie for the comic book/anime lover it's not for everyone Thank you for reading.

Priest
(2011)

Good
First off I want to make clear that a movie review is nothing but just a movie review. I started to hate those idiots who write paragraph after paragraph after paragraph breaking down every single aspect of the film.

So for those guys here is a revelation: is just a freaking movie. A nutshell review means "brief".

Anyway...Priest was very slick and entertaining. Good action and good acting. Who gives a rat rear end if the vampires in this movie were not like Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise. This is an action film, not a gay adaptation of a chick book by Anne Rice.

I've read reviews from other people complaining about the way vampires were depicted in this movie. For all those people I just want to let them know that "vampires" are not real. They are the product of someone imagination.

Godd movie. Excellent way to kill 90 minutes. Won't win any awards but highly recommended. Worth a watch.

Accomplished what a movie should always accomplish, keep you entertain. Now, if you want something accurate and real read a freaking book or watch shark week in the discovery channel.

And that's how you write a movie review under 50.000 words. Yep I'm talking to you.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
(2003)

Not totally there
First of all I would like to say that I really hate people that write long reviews of movies. After all is just a movie is not like a vital part of history. So I will keep it short.

Not a bad movie. The action scenes are well worthy of a Terminator franchise. The main problem I have with this film is mostly the character of "John Connor". Maybe it was the writers or maybe just the actor who was wrongly casted. I don't know.

In the first film they start with this mystical image of the one man responsible for the survival of the human race "John Connor" In the second film we have a smart, witty and somehow strong representation of the kid who will become the leader of the resistance against the machine.

However; in this film we have a sissy, insecure, scary cat with an amazing lack of confidence dude by the name of "John Connor". The portrayal of the character was pathetic. Are you telling that this joke of a man will be the saviour of the human race. Sad.

Then the other problem I have with this movies is that stupid scene was the one where Arnold gets reprogrammed by the T-X. John Connor asks the T-800 not to kill him and the Terminator obeys. Reese said in part 1 „It can't be bargained with" and now John did just that. Sad. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Anyhow, I promised I would keep it short so I will.

X: First Class
(2011)

Did not like it
8.2 out of 10?...seriously? the first x men was OK...the second was bad...the third was a bag full of puke...wolverine origins was a rape....but this one is worst than any of the other x men movies.

What's wrong with this pile of garbage? 1- Professor X and Mystique are related? WTF 2-Alex Summers and not Scott? Why? Scott Summers is one of the original X Men, not Alex 3-Where is Angel? I mean Warren Kenneth Worthington III not that little butterfly girl.

4- Where is Iceman? 5- Where is Marvel Girl? What a silly plot. Hollywood can't make good movies anymore. They take a good source and just violated the fans with some stupid adaptation.

What's with the romantic relation between Beast and Mystique? Where that came from? Mystique mated with Azazel and that's where Nightcrawler comes from.

Stupid movie. I have no idea why the rating is so high.

The Wolverine cameo was kind of cool though.

Hulk
(2003)

kind of boring
I remember watching this movie and for the longest time I tried to figured out what Ang Lee was trying to do. the whole story is so far from the original Hulk origin and the whole psychological spin to it is just plain stupid and unnecessary. the effects were good...OK good not that great. I though that the Hulk was a little over size in some scenes and way smaller in others. for example when he exited the underground facility he was unbelievable big. yet the pants stretched out from size 34 yo size 510. then when he was with Betty Hulk was way smaller. didn't like that inconsistency. the direction was good and the fight scenes were pretty decent but the whole father story was a complete headache. unnecessary and stupid. that's all. not a good movie

Ghosts of Mars
(2001)

Not Bad
Not a Bad movie at all..Carpenter is the kind of director who makes either a good movie or a bad one...and this one is pretty decent..well directed considering the low budget...Henstridge and Statham they both do a good job...the only problem I have with this movie is Ice Cube....first off...what kind of name is Ice Cube? seriously!...If you going to give yourself a nickname think of a good one....two "Ice Cube" is not an "Action" dude...he is short, fat and ugly...we might say "fugly"....so I am not buying his character at all...Statham was perfect for that role....I have no idea why they think "Ice Cube" can play an action hero. Anyway...decent movie...not bad at all.

Paranormal Activity
(2007)

I think that.....
....people who found this movie scary might be too sensitive or fearful to pretty much anything out there. Seriously, 45 minutes into the film and I was wondering why everybody call this film scary at all. 45 minutes into the film and nothing happened. There was one scene that lasted about 5 minutes and it was nothing but a shot of this retarded couple sleeping through the night and the only thing that happened during the night was that the bedroom door moved about 5 inch. That freak you out people? c'mon The Blair Witch Project was good, kind of scary and original. But this movie is pure garbage. For real...I turned the video off close to an hour into the movie. I rather watch wedding videos of people I don't even know. The only scary thing about this movie is that they are making a sequel and most likely a bunch of mentally handicap people will soiled themselves over a freaking curtain moving back and forth....and they wont shut up about how scary this it. Save yourself the time and pain and watch a video of Rosie O'Donnell doing an striptease instead....because that would be definitely scary.

Avatar
(2009)

Once again....
....Cameron sets the standards....back in the 80's a revolutionary movie called "The Terminator" changed the way action movies should be....a decade later "Terminator 2" changed the way FX should be.....later "Titanic" made a whole generation travel deep into the ocean and history.....now "Avatar" had taken a whole generation into the future of film-making. Imagine "Star Wars" or The Lord of the Ring" with this technology. The film is simply put "Amazing"...there is nothing wrong with it....the acting is good the FX are out of this world...the story though is bit predictable and probably done before..really, there was nothing original about the plot....but who cares...it wasn't about the storyline...Cameron showed the world he can deliver a good story with "Titanic"....this movie was about a trip...from the way movies are make today to the way movies will be make from now on. An amazing experience that should be seen in big screen.....3 hours well spent. Definitely the best movie in the last decade.

Blood and Bone
(2009)

one question....where is the plot?
There is absolutely no plot in this movie ...no character development...no climax...nothing. But has a few good fighting scenes that are actually pretty good. So there you go...as a movie overall is pretty bad, but if you like a brainless flick that offer nothing but just good action scenes then watch this movie. Do not expect nothing more that just that.Decent acting and a not so bad direction..A couple of cameos from Kimbo and Carano...I was looking to see Carano a little bit more in this movie..she is a good fighter and a really hot girl.... White is a great martial artist and a decent actor. I really hope he can land a better movie in the future so we can really enjoy his art..Imagine a film with White and Jaa together...that would be awesome
