  • The movie is amazing in so many ways.

While there have been more than a few adaptations of the books, this last Dune seems like an original piece of work.

The second part starts of with a little bit of a cheesy dialogue, but then it gets bigger than that.

The scenography, photography is stunning, and the sequence at Geidi Prime is simply phenomenal.

Sound and music is incredible and honestly it provides about 50% of the whole ambient.

The cast feels like a major name dropping, but in the end it is almost perfect.

The pace of storytelling is uneven and you do not have a good grip of how much time has passed for few scenes.

The prominent use of the Fremen language is also fantastic.

You have to see this one, rarely a movie like this is made lately.
  • It is just so very uneven in storytelling. There are parts that just happen without any incling to culmination which is exactly what it needs for some key points.

The story is on such a grand scale encompassing an entire galaxy, realms, empires, dominion and yet you just see how the gate opens to enter and see the prohpet.

It does look amazing visually, photography and scenography are great.

It lacks on dialogue as a whole, but has its shining moments often.

The cast is great, except Salvor, somehow it just doesn't fully fit.

Again the story is such a grandiose one that they are failing in delivering that in full.

But give it a try, it has few concepts on time, immortality, clones etc. That are quite interesting.
  • The series looks amazing, the cities, villages, landscapes is simply stunning.

However, the characters, the storyline and the dialogue ia dry.

In the first three epusodes you have the main characters running away from monsters and then the monsters stop chasing them because they reached some special place.

Also, you can't have a plot driven by stupid decisions made by the characters, this is not thebage where a character does the opposite he's been told even though it is obvious he should not have done it wvwn without warning.

The acting isn't exactly the best.

The scenography is amazing, but the costumes are way too clean, it needs a little bit of realness in all that magic.

You just don't know what is the movie's point. At times it feels like a kids movie and then it doesn't and this keeps happening throughout the movie so you're not sure what is going on.

There isn't much humour. Possibly at all.

It tries to get serious but all you get is few disconnected moments that in the end have no meaning. It just feels boring for the most part.

There is even a breaking of the 4th wall, once.

    No consistency whatsoever.

The cast and acting was ok I guess, the script offers so little to recognise any acting.

The entire plotline is just things happening while the reasons are left out.

I just couldn't relate at all, and can't see how it would relate to other people as well.
  • I have not seen such a good comedy in a really long time. It reminds me of the good Jude Apatow comedies, even better from whichever Apatow's comedy you consider is the best.

I would not consider this a rom-com, strictly a comedy despite the love interest.

While the story and the plot might not be anything new, the movie is nicely written, good dialogue, good jokes, witty and even the physical comedy is good.

Jennifer Lawrence is doing great in a comedy but I guess that is not a surprise. The supporting cast same as the main cast is spot on.

Towards the end the movie slows down, but just enough to really align the characters' development.

That's another thing, there's character development and it is nicely done, there's a why and how to everything in the movie.

Again, this is a comedy, all of the above might sound a little too serious, just relax and watch the movie.
  • A lot of reviews say that this is a feel good movie, but it is not, it is a Halmark Christmas movie judging by the storyline and dialogue, it is just not Christmas related.

Such a cast wasted on a low quality story and screenplay.

There's no connection between the characters, no chemistry, it all feels random and just happens. There's absolutely no tension throughout the movie, it all goes by without a single obstacle, smooth and perfrct.

The antagonist is very weak and tofay it seems that the only way characters can make a connection and learn something about another character is by "hacking". This hapoens in a lot of movies to be fair, screenwriters are either lazy or just don't knkw how to move the plot wihtout " hacking".

I gave it a 6, but consider it a six for a halmark or a lifetime tv movie.
  • I used a line from the behind the scenes episodes for the title of this review, because the series truly is big and beautiful.

The music and the wondrous scenery makes gives the series this feeling of grandeur and unmatched beauty. Despite being set within not such a large group and told through the eyes of an 18 year old girl you cannot escape the feeling that you are witnessing a much greater story, with larger scope and effect then the one about a family and a group of immigrants.

The show manages to fully immerse you in the excitement and he fear the pioneers were feeling back in the 19th century.

The acting is good and there don't seem to be any miscasting. You might want to carefully follow the narration because there is some great writing done in those lines.

I found the mini series because Yellowstone was recommended to me, but still haven't seen it, and not sure I want to see it now, but will watch 1923.

Totally recommended and worth the watch.
  • Not somehow, it is the great cast. Somehow they managed to cast the perfect actresses and actors for the main roles and the supporting roles.

Whe the first season doesn't seem as funny, Danning's and Behr's dynamic make it trully feel good sit-com show with decent humor.once Jennifer Coolidge joins in it starts being really good and entertaining.

The supporting male roles, Han, Earl and Oleg are a great addition.

While the dialogue won't impress you the jokes are decently funny and well executed.

The main premise isn't original but it is interesting, rich girl goes poor and must team up with another poor girl to make a living.

All in all, it is great show to listen to it while you work or just relax without having to think about anything important.
  • I binged watched it and was not dissapointed. The episodes are shorter than I wanted them to be, but I'm glad they did not drag the show with needless scenes.

It keeps you going with the mystery and the good characters. While there may be points you would think that no way would they be doing that, but it is never too much and the storyline is consistent.

It feels like an original idea and it is very well presented and executed. Satisfying start, middle amd ending of the story.

Again, they managed to create really good likable, interesting characters and a great mystery. There's humor in it as much as there can be in a show like this and it fits quite well.
  • The movie tells two different stories of two neighbouring families whuch are not connected or similar in any way except living close to each other.

Without giving any plot points the movie has captured the differences in life style and the social circumstances we live in quite nicely. Although the actions are not exactly everyday living, you can clearly the read through the characters and their motivations.

At start you might feel uneasy with what's going on on the screen, but as soon as you get to know the characters the feeling of uneasiness goes away. There's humor, but not sure if it can be well received or even perceived by foreign audeinces, some of it is realky specefic and inspired by real life political, economical and social events.

Acting was superb, even though some of the dialogue feels out of place.

Throughout the movie you will want to know what will happen next.

It has some cringe inducing moments, some weirdness and maybe gloomy ambient, but the end is satisfying.

There's nudity, and while you expect that at any moment it could go terribly graphic, it doesn't, it balances that line of too much or too little extremly well.

    Totally worth the watch.
  • I gave it a 4 for production values. There is nothing else good about this show.

Acting is whatever, there isn't much material to act anyways.

The series has 8 episodes per season and the episodes are all alike, the same dialogues and story stretched over considerable screen time.

As the title of the review says it is extemely boring to follow through with any attention throughout the entire seasons.

The diversity however unlikely for the period of time, I guess it is a creative choice, it is fiction after all. But there is morality attached to it with consequences for which today's woke culture is blind. I will not take it as a minus, as it is irrelevant to the quality of the show...
  • Very, very annoying. The character of Ann that is. I just had no desire to watch past the first episode. She does talk a lot and often repeats herself.
  • It is so bad, at some scenes I look away cause I feel ashamed for whoever made whatever this is.

Did they not learn nobody likes kids in Star Wars from Episode I? Not that the kids are the only problem. It's all from bad to worse but the script is like I wrote it.

    Don't watch it.
  • It is incredibly cliched, cringy dialogue, bad writing, continuity errors and goofs, dumb dialogue, unrealistic storylines.

Like who takes their daughter to work day in a prison to interview a serial killer, ahahaha, I laughed so hard there :-).
  • I mean, he goes into the bank and asks for a bathroom for customers and the guard takes him to the bathroom while passing by the most secure vault.

Teleportation feels more realistic than that.
  • I liked the movie as a whole and the story is a good one. Actors are great.

There are too many dark scenes and the speaking parts are way too quiet, I barely understood what the characters are saying.

There's a discrepancy in the scenography and the time we live in. It might be compelling visually but kids that go on swimming classes don't live in such homes. If say it is an exception, because yes some people live that way, the scenery is drastic. It feels like the story is set in 1994 just with smartphones and instagram.

The ending feels rushed and incomplete.
  • I went to see it in the cinema and was really pleasantly surprised.

The movie explores death and the inivetibality of death, but also happiness as the title says and the role of sexuality.

The dialogue feels a bit stale in some moments and some of the characters are missing real connection and chemistry, but as an ensemble is complete and supporting the storyline.

The cinematography is really good and the music makes it complete throughout the movie.

Really worth a watch, strongly recommend.
  • Checking in 9 years after the release, I am really happy to see the score of this movie.

First, comparison with the book, I don't remember if I read the book first and I will give a provisional "the book was better", but on the other hand it wqs som much easier in the movie to follow the different incarnations of each character.

It is an epic exploration of the human soul on am individual level, but also the humanity in humans as a species throughout many epochs, including the future.

You really need to keep an open mind and don't expect to discover the meaning of life while watching the movie.

    Read the book too.

The cast is wonderful, although it is noticeable when an imcarnation does not work well for some of the actors.

    Recommended for sure.
  • Warning: Spoilers
The show promises good acting skills, it will not disappoint in that department, however the story is all over the place, so much character development and for a single finale moment that barely fits the rest of the story.

The personal drama is way too much, that the actual murder is completely sidelined and not only the murder, but also the kidnappings.

Not sure how it looks from someone else's perspective, but imagine this, you live in a town where there is a serial girls kidnapper/rapists that keeps them locked. Meanwhile, your drug addicted son kills himself and you need to take care of his son while his drug addicted girlfriend and mother of his son is in a recovery center. All the while the husband of you best friend is having an incestuous affair with his niece (daughter of his cousin) and their son kills the niece. The child of that affair is being taken care of some other woman who thinks is the childs grandmother. All the while another grandmother (while on chemotherapy) takes care of the son of her missing (kidnapped) daughter.

Another thing is, you don't want to give up your grandson to his mother who apparently is doing well in recovery and is looking for custody over her son, SO, you, a state detective steal two packs of heroin from evidence room, temper with the logs and plant the heroin in your grandson's mothers car. The punishment is "administrative leave", and after you find the kidnapped girls (and getting your partner killed and you are not even on duty) you are all forgiven and you get to get back as a detective, no one needs to know about this, it is all fine. This was the most ridiculous part of the series.

Your best friend in order to protect her son who killed the girl, is lying that his uncle killed the girl.

But lets throw in a writer, who has absolutely no consequence to the story or character development and a priest, with a shady past, who barely affects the story in any way.

Exactly two times there are comedic moments in the entire series, feels really wrong watching that, considering what these people are going through. It is amazing that they are not all in therapy, psychiatric and heavily medicated.

    The finale was so-so.
  • Just started season 2 and the writing has not improved one bit. All that budget and great production value wasted on silly plots and dialogues. All the time you're watching you're asking yourself why, why, why. And the villain, played by Parker Posey, again why would someone keep so close by someone who has tried to kill you so many times. Suspense of disbelief works for the sci-fi parts of the show, not for how stupid people can be.
  • Just finished season one only, I love the show but it is overindulging in long blood thirst fights and shoot outs. It is just too much.

Nevermind the fact that after a point during a fight it is not believable anymore (because they've handled this very good and it looks believable), it honestly causes anxiety.

And the plot just piles on one misfortune on top of the other. A bit too much.

Otherwise everything about the show is likeable amd nicely done. It is a must watch.

It really focuses on the story instead of pushing characters just because they are credited as main cast.

Will update review when I finish all seasons.
  • There isn't a lot going on to keep the story spread over several episodes.

While visually it is absolutely stunning, after a while you get tired of the close ups if the main actress.

Beautiful to look at, but cohld have been a great 2 hour movie instead an average mini series.
  • I suppose it is an interesting story, but it is not told in a very interesting way. You cannot connect with the characters for some reason. I kept dozing off and checking my phone.
  • The series is original in most ways considering it dealts with super heroes.

The show is an alegory of today's society and the division of society between the regular people and the untouchables so to say.

In second season this is way more aparent, along with the influence of social media, influencers and political influencers, what does democracy mean etc.

To be honest it gets a bit overly political in season 2 with Trump at its core. Did not appreciate that tone but the show managed to keep it relevant in all aspects and no matter the time period.

What I liked: the cast, the storyline, the plot twists, the humour, the dialogue and pacing. Also Frenchie and Kimiko.

What I didn't like is specific:
    • The Deep is really sidelined for a main cast character, but that really reflects the character as well, so I guess it goes really meta there. Its like they made a contracy with the actor and had to keep him in the show, his storyline is barely relevant to the main story.
-not that I did not like it, but Jack Quiad character is often referred to as "the kid", he is only 28 and somehow they made him look 40. If you check his Instagram acc, he really does not look as old as in the show.

    A must watch.
  • The only reason why this movie looks way better then it is, is because it is the first decent DCEU movie.

They managed to make an appealing plot, hold a coherent storyline. Acting is okay, but that doesn't mean it is an extra special movie worthy of 10 stars.

It is worth the watch though, it would be just like watching any Marvel movie.
