Crown Court
Obone completes his evidence, informing The Court that he's an artist and that's the source of his income, he states that the man be was seen with was Janice's father and that the pair share money. Janice Smith decides not to change her appearance to give her evidence, she makes it clear that she and Obone have an open relationship and that her job is as his agent.
I didn't particularly enjoy the first two episodes, indeed I struggled with them, but this third one was pretty good, it turned out to be a good bit of fun.
Up until this point the characters had been somewhat over the top, rather silly, however Obone and Janice are actually rather good and manage to raise the sinking ship as it were.
The Judge and other legals just don't seem very capable somehow, compare them to characters from the early years, this setup just doesn't have it.
There are some wonderful characters on The Jury, some of them look like they're about to be contestants on Bullseye.
Too little, too late.
6/10.

Crown Court
Police Cadet Edward Fairbrother a trainee Officer, explains how he was at the same pub as Obone and Smith one evening, and that Obone offered Smith's services for the knock down price of £10. Also present that night was WPC Winifred Jones, she explains how she saw Smith giving Obone money and how she witnessed Smith propositioning Fairbrother. Mrs O'Rourke offers a defence of Obone.
The only episode of Crown Court that I've wanted to switch off.
Not buying this one at all, it's not just that I don't like the storyline, but it's a little bit all over the place, it doesn't work. Proceedings at the court are a shambles and sadly so is the plot.
The humour goes down like a lead piano, the jokes are silly and not funny, they're trying amusing one liners and slapstick, but it is hapless.
It was obvious that the defending counsel was going to make Fairbrother look like a wet feather brain and that's surely what happened, John Skitt is very sweet, but just a little over the top. The same can be said for WPC Jones, a little too robotic, the polar opposite of Fairbrother, but she's a bit too Cruella DeVille.
Even the ever reliable Mary Healey is poor here, that accent is terrible, she goes from Irish to English with every sentence, she needed to tone this performance down ten fold, it's shocking.

Crown Court
Maurice Obone stands accused of living off immoral earnings, it is alleged that he profited from acting as a pimp to Janice Smith. Janice's landlord Thomas Crichton explains that Obone was living with Smith and that men were coming and going. The other tennant in the house, Edward Harley explains how often he'd heard the springs in the bed going and that he was proportioned with a 'massage.'
Does this one work? I'm not quite sure, it's a fun of the mill storyline about a house being used as a knocking shop and a pimp taking advantage of the sex worker, however the characters are over the top, both Smith and Harley are too much, can you imagine what life was like for poor Crichton.
Janice Smith is maybe a little over the top, putting it on a bit in the waiting room. You have to love the fashion though, it could only be the 1980's.
I love Gwen Watford, but she feels so out of place here, just not right for the part, I'm not totally sold on David Collings here either, maybe it's just the script.
Harley is possibly playing someone autistic? He seems to have several of the traits.
Somewhat challenging.
