Bangkok Hilton
(1989)

Fantastic Mini-Series
I think this is probably the most underrated performance by Nicole Kidman. I saw this in 1989, and have looked for it on video or DVD in the states since then. Its really too bad this series is not run on American TV or recast on BBC America. I really would love to have a copy.

Saving Grace
(2000)

One of the Funniest Movies Ever
The British do it again! In this movie, about a middle aged, prim and proper widow who takes to hydroponically raising pot in order to alleviate her dead husband's debts, the British humor shines! The subtle British humor is evident throughout the movie. The pub scene comments on Kafka vs modern adult authors brought tears to my eyes as I laughed out loud! The "bud" scene is one that Cheech and Chong themselves could not have done better! I recommend this movie to anyone who likes more than one good laugh!

The Adventures of Mark Twain
(1944)

A Tribute to Mark Twain
In the Adventures of Mark Twain, Frederick March portrays the author as Sam Clemmons himself would approve. This film is the most true to life account of Clemmons life as any film I have seen on the author. It not only lets the viewer see the humorous side of Twain, but shows the desperate and dark sides as well. This is a film that every Twain "buff" should view!
