I have seen all of Rob Zombie's movies and I have nothing good to say about any of them. Not so much as a single "flinch" of fright! The chase scenes are long and drawn out and then very anti-climatic when they do come. I also found the plot line to be very hard to follow and it was hard to figure out what was going on throughout the movie. In a well-made movie this tactic can make it more fun trying to figure things out, but in one like this it makes it hurt just that much more! I guess if gore is all that does it for you, one might like them. However I don't recommend this one or any other of his films! I hear he has a film in development titled T-Rex, maybe I'll give him one more chance?!?

After reading comments on this movie on IMDb I went into this movie with high expectations. Boy, was I disappointed!! Granted I haven't seen all the "scary" movies that have ever come out, but I've seen a lot of them and this was one of the worst! What happened to the good old day's, i.e., Alien 1 and 2 and John Carpenters The Thing. It's been 25 years or more!! The CGI in this movie was the caliber of a Saturday morning cartoon. If they can't do any better than this they need to go back to puppetry for special effects. The acting was just as bad, it seemed like the actors were reading off cue cards and never even saw a script before shooting started! Every "scary" scene was so predictable you knew what was coming long before it happened!! Several people were in the theater when I saw this and most of them were laughing throughout the movie. Yes, I recommend to anyone to stay as far away from this movie as you can!!

Just got back from seeing The Reaping and I must say it was better than I expected. After reading the critics reviews and reading a majority of the user comments I thought this movie was going to be a real dog. One of the complaints was about the poor special effects. I've never been too impressed with CGI in the first place, but this was as good as any I've seen lately. It has never looked real to me in any movie. As far as the storyline not being original, what film has been original in the last few years. There has been so many movies made in the last 80 years or so that it's gotta be difficult to come up with a never used theme at this point. I also believe when you have an actor the caliber of Hilary Swank in a movie they are held to a higher standard and are thusly criticized more harshly than others if their movies aren't stellar. Give this one a try and judge for yourself.

This movie interested me because it was not advertised on T.V.,and now I know why. I'm sure the distributor took one look at it and decided not to spend one more dime on it. In the beginning of the film it seemed like the plot might make a decent B-movie thriller,but it was not to be. I can't recommend seeing this film, unless you have nothing else to do for an hour and a half.

when i decided to go see this movie, i expected to see some of the usual kosner melodramatics. i.e. down trotten guy makes good. even though a lot of those elements existed in this film,i must admit he is the best at pulling this off in his movies. the one thing about this film that i feel really stands out is the authenticity of the shootout towards the end. after watching the shootout in the unforgiven by eastwood i didn't think it could be topped, but i believe kosner has done it. FOOTNOTE- kudo's again to kosner for giving Robert Duval top credit,he certainly deserves it. 8 out of 10 on this one.
