The Village
(2004)

Dissapointing.
Shyamalan still is the master of twists and deception but it was too much this time. Great cast depth, Ivy is hot and the realness is all there but the fact that this type of thing has already been done it was dissapointing. Up until the end it was nearing perfection. This is starting to become a worrisome habit with many movies these days and lets hope these bizarre endings end.

85% of the movie is pure pleasure but unfortunatley the other 15% is rubbish and ruins it so overall about a 6 or 7. Dissapointing for M.Night's standard.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
(2002)

The first was better.
Perhaps TTT is so good I didn't realise it, or maybe I need to see it again, but by first impression I think it is good, but overated. I don't know I just couldn't tell. FOTR is better, but the long battle scene in TTT rules, I know that for sure. I must say i guess i was expecting a little too much after the hype of last year and this year.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
(2003)

Solid, solid movie.
What a way to end the trilogy. Perhaps if you had to you could find mini chinks in the armour for the third movie, but they are covered up by delicious suspense and excellent screenplay.

The large battle scenes near the end are just about as good as the two towers main one is, But maybe Legolas getting on and taking down the giant mammoth-like creature like he did is just a tad far-fetched?

But who cares I suppose when you have a movie like this? There's always going to be some little thing about a movie that may seem a tad on the negative side. I wouldn't even call it on the negative side anyway. An unforgettable trilogy. 9/10

Charlie's Angels
(2000)

Unbelievably far fetched
It's quite unbelievable how far fetched this movie is. I would have expected better from Diaz, Lou and Barrymoore, not to mention the script writers and the director. Even the sex appeal can't lift it's rather poor overall score.

4.5/10

It
(1990)

Stephens Kings "It" was nearing perfection untill the ending reeked and ruined the movie.
I saw "It" for the first time a long while back when i was very small....I saw it again a few days ago.....and guess what? I was absolutley loving "it" up untill the 170th minute(about) to find out "It" was a giant spider like creature. Don't get me wrong, I loved "It", it was heading for a 10, but the ending sucked, as well as the "special effects", if you can call them that. Considering in the same year a low budget movie like Tremors has far superior special effects.

Despite all the negatives, the cast is brilliant and so is the plot. I love the clown guy, funny as hell.

Men in Black II
(2002)

An insult to sci-fi's.
What the hell? Excuse me? Is this supposed to be Men In black? After such a great first film, this one collapses in every area the first movie achieved. I can't believe Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith were in such a crappy film! The special effects are second rate, as well as just about everything else.

Keep away.

The 13th Warrior
(1999)

Surprisingly very enjoyable.
I thought this would be a little dodgy when i rented it on DVD. After reading the book, i was eager to see it. Very believable characters, especially Banderas as the Ibn dude. Not much "gore" but lovely surroundings just as i imagined it in the book(well, almost!). Another Crichton novel that has turned into a great movie.

Cut
(2000)

Cheesy
Rip off of "Scream" or especially "I know what you did last summer", there's some entertainment here, and a little scary, but they needed some originality.

An entertainment score? 6.5/10 Overall? 5.5/10

Aliens
(1986)

Great stuff
Sigourney Weaver does a great performance in a thrilling sequel, where the aliens are back. Fantastic effects for 1986 and scary monsters, packed with suspense. Not as gorey as "Alien", but still has it's moments.

A solid 8/10.

Contact
(1997)

A lot to endure to just see 1 minute of the "alien" at the end.
I dunno, I just didn't see anything special here. I thought it was too long, and too much to endure just to see anything interesting for like one minute. When I saw the previews i had high expectations, but i was bitterly dissapointed. Liked the special effects though (for 1997).

The Green Mile
(1999)

A boring sunday night turns into a great movie to watch.
It was sunday night and nothing good was on. Then I watched this, and it was one of the most emotion charged movies ever! I felt genuinley sad for the characters. The Cast was great, simply great. The ending was the weak point though, I thought. Otherwise very well done.

9/10

The Frighteners
(1996)

Memorable movie
It really is. Some parts made me cringe, but other than that it was fine. Michael J. Fox ruled this movie. No real gore, just heaps of terror! Preferably kids under 13 will most likely be scared, but great if your looking for a horror/comedy.

A well deserving 8/10.

K-PAX
(2001)

Great Drama!
*May be spoilers* No doubt one of the best dramas if not the best in the genre I've ever seen. Is Prot an alien or just a crazy bugger? This is the question you'll be asking yourself all throughout the movie.

Kevin Spacey is simply amazing, as is Jeff Bridges. You can't beat this kind of acting plus some humour at times. Some of Kevin Spaceys actions in this movie are very funny. When he was up in the tree, for example, and when he was talking to the "queen" mental patient, the way he hid half his face around the wall and just stared.

To simply put it, right from the start you'll be hooked, and if you really love drama's you won't be dissapointed.

The Time Machine
(2002)

7/10
I enjoyed the time machine, Guy Pearce was great in it. Far too short though, and lack of action and variety of worlds prevented it from at least an 8. Near the end it picked up though. Great creatures and characters, too. Pretty simple movie 7/10.

Spider-Man
(2002)

Watchable, but....
.....The scenes aren't deep enough. The entertainment was 9/10, but what stops Spiderman from getting 10/10 for entertainment is a little lack of action scenes, especially of the Green Goblin. I'll most likely go see the sequel in a couple of years, let's hope it has more action.

Otherwise, pretty good film!

Star Trek: Voyager
(1995)

Flat, un-interesting.
This is one crummy show. It's predictable, boring and nothing compared to Enterprise. Who cares if Enterprise didn't show that kind of species first or whatever, it's hell of a lot better than this poo. Hugely overated, nothin special here. "Let the "trekkies" have a whinge(those who complain about Enterprise). Give me Enterprise anyday!

Sphere
(1998)

Sphere.....
I agree with people that say the start was great but as Sphere went on it gradually weakened. After I found out the cause of all the mayhem, I was dissapointed. Although Sphere is enterataining and keeps you on the hook for a while (untill you finally figure out whats happening). Some good action scenes, but I think the directors thought by making the movie a little long would make it better. Samuel L. Jackson is good in it, though.

Tedious, but an ok movie. 6/10

Neighbours
(1985)

Once upon a time....
Once upon a time.....I actually enjoyed this show....this was 3 years ago now. Since 1999 this show has just rolled down the hill. I've given it plenty of chances to somehow spark again, but nothings there. The story lines have lost their originality, the acting is getting bad with new actors coming into the equation, and the show is starting to show its age. It's just not interesting anymore.

It's time to put this one away, before it starts to embarrass itself more.

Yat goh ho yan
(1997)

The script and directing absolutley teared the movie apart.
Being filmed in my home city, I guess I have a soft spot for this movie, but you simply can't ignore such poor script and directing. I say, well done to the actors for trying to make best of the script, but whoever directed this and whoever did the script really need to go over their work. It has to be one of the worst i've seen in a movie. Other than that, a good action movie and Jacke Chan was great again.

1/10 for directing and script, but a 7/10 for everything else in this film.

Sleepy Hollow
(1999)

Loved it.
*Spoilers* I thought i would enjoy it, but not as much as i did. Really, there isn't that much gore, mainly violence. Some scary parts, so kids under at least 11 or 12 probably will have nightmares if they are easily sqemish. The Special effects were pretty good, and the headless horseman looked great.

A must if you like horrors.

Super Troopers
(2001)

Genuine poo.
This isn't funny, well not past the 12 year old mark anyway. The "jokes" are lame, the plot goes no where, the movie dosen't come together probably, and whats worse its full of a bunch of no-name "actors" who obviously had nothing better to do.

2/10

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist
(2002)

At least Steve Oedekerk was ok.
*Possible spoilers* He and the cow scene was about the only thing positive in this weird movie. I'd say more 6th grade or 7th grade humour. Also the actors and directors take something of the movie and keep pushing to you laugh. I smiled a few times, but not enough.

The cow scene was one of the best assets of the movie, though.

Komodo
(1999)

Pretty good actually
*Spoilers* Don't let the 3.6 rating fool you, this actually ain't a bad movie. It's no Jurassic Park, but it beats Anaconda. The special effects are pretty good and the acting is great too. Only problem is it's predictable and the ending is flat and and easy solution.

Crank Yankers
(2002)

Not the funniest, but still worth a look.
I just love shows where you play jokes on unsuspecting victims, so of course I'd like this. Most of the time its funny, a few moments get a little boring, but overall its a pretty good show to sit back and have a laugh.

People who don't like it are probably those that have been victims of the show.
