Cinderella
(1997)

Brandy was so wrong for the part!
I remember when this first premiered. I was in 7th grade and all the girls were raving about it school the Friday before. I made sure to steer clear of this mess! Yet, lo and behold, I ended up seeing it anyway. It was OK for what it was, but I couldn't get over how plastic and lifeless Brandy was. I didn't mind the rest of the cast, but Brandy's voice wasn't as strong as the part called for and when singing with Whitney, she was clearly overshadowed and her voice drowned out. I think an unknown actress would have done a better job, if not another R&B singer like Aaliyah or Mya, who's voice would have been stronger and given the character more depth and personality.

Pepper Ann
(1997)

"...much too cool for 7th grade..."
The Saturday this was supposed to have premiered on was the same day as Princess Diana's funeral, so ABC preempted it and debuted it a week later as part of their "One Saturday Morning" and I fell in love instantly. In my opinion, this was Disney's best animated show since "The Disney Afternoon" heyday of the late 80s, early 90s with such classics as, "Gummi Bears", "Chip N' Dale, Rescue Rangers", "Tale Spin", "Darkwing Duck", "Goof Troop" and "Bonkers." To see Disney return to their roots, if only for a brief moment, was wonderful.

However, due to some stupidity at the Disney corporate level, "Pepper Ann" was cancelled in February 2000 and relegated to "Disney's One Too", a daily version of "One Saturday Morning" that aired on UPN stations. This was a great show and not one to be shot down so quickly. How "Recess" managed to last so long with their most recent episodes being three years old already and their not-too-appealing movie is a sin.

If crap like "Teacher's Pet" (which flopped) and "Recess" (which I was a fan of in the very beginning) can get the big screen treatment, then why not "Pepper Ann"?

Hercules
(1998)

Wonderful!
I remember waking up at the crack of dawn early Saturday mornings just to catch this on ABC and airing simultaneously in syndication. Anyway, I was impressed on how many celebrities signed on to voice characters, however, I did note that two of my personal favorites were missing, "The Golden Girls'" Bea Arthur and Broadway's Bernadette Peters, but I digress.

I enjoy still enjoy the show which now airs on the Toon Disney Channel and I recommend it for the celebrity cameo appearances.

That's So Raven
(2003)

Awful!
I saw the show last night on the Disney Channel and didn't see what all the hype was about. Rhondell Sheridan and T'Keyah Crystal Kemah seem miscast as Raven's parents, Kyle Orlando Massey, as Raven's little brother, is so annoying that while I was watching one episode last night where Raven threw him a birthday party, I was waiting for one of "Reptile Randy's" reptiles to devour him. Lastly, Raven herself could have found better material to work with.

Another flop from Disney!

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
(2000)

Good!
I just finished watching this on Cartoon Network, commercial interruptions and all. The movie itself was good and I liked the fact that they kept the original cast, but what's this unedited version everyone's talking about?

The Golden Girls
(1985)

Great!
"The Golden Girls", produced by Disney's Touchstone Television for NBC between 1985-1992 is one of the greatest TV shows of all time. When it aired on NBC (Saturday nights at 9pm), it continually won its time slot, became the 4th highest-rated show on TV and with the help of "The Cosby Show" and "Cheers" catapulted NBC to #1.

Unfortunately, Bea Arthur, the sarcastic and very funny Dorothy Zbornak, left the show in 1992 and brought an end to 7 years of laughter, fights and most importantly, cheesecake.

A spin-off, called "The Golden Palace" aired on CBS, but with less than inspiring writing and a missing ingredient, the show was cancelled after on season.

"The Golden Girls", with a myriad of Emmy wins (most notably, one for each actress) and numerous spin-offs ("Empty Nest", "Nurses" and "The Golden Palace", just to name a few) has etched itself in the hearts of loyal fans and continues to make audiences laugh since the last episode aired on May 9, 1992.

Lifetime airs the show about 34 times a week and it's still a must see for all ages.
