this was the film steve hurt his shoulder and had to stop lifting heavy weights and lost lbs. believe or not he said in an interview he trained only one month out of the year when he was making movies in europe.thats why he looked bigger in some movies than others.his thickest was in goliath and the barbarians and lightest giant of marathon.a lot of copies of this film are made by GOOD TIMES VIDEO stay away from these copies they are BAD.good times copied all there DVD's and VHS in EP mode.again do not ever buy a GOOD TIMES VIDEO.so just a warning if u buy a cope. and be weary of goliath and barbarians copies and others most are copied from some Italian print.i did get a great copy of thief of bagdad and morgan the pirate.

like all TV and movies based on historical events they add things that are quite untrue.the two most glaring examples of this in i Claudius is the portrait of Livia and her son Tiberius.and the problem with this is Livia drives this story mostly so her character is so important as this murderous evil woman. i went and read many historical books on Augustus after seeing this great TV series.mind u it is one of the best I've seen besides shaka Zulu.according to most historians Livia was a devoted and loyal wife of Augustus till the end and had nothing to do with his death.Augustus lived a long and healthy life for a person back then and died old age and some aliment he caught at his old age.all these murders Livia is supposed to have done in this series has no proof of any kind.Livia by the way had all the power she could want as the wife of Augustus.he was devoted to her.Tiberius did become emperor through the death of wounds Germanic's had from battles and these became infected causing his death leaving Tiberius next in line as emperor.in his early life Tiberius was a competent general on the battlefield and was a pretty good emperor most of his early reign.only as he grew old he became feeble and what we would call a dirty old man.no one is sure if his death was by Caligula or not.and again at the beginning Caligula was a competent emperor.when he caught this unknown fever is when he became mad.so i understand the liberties taken in this great series about Livia and Tiberius but remember this is done all the time in historical facts in movies and TV series. this is still a great TV series with great performances.

love to see what kind of story any of u would come up with.10 to 1 your story would STINK and what would u do with these fantastic icons.have them chase each other around the universe playing bumper rockets? or maybe create a super icon part predator and alien that goes around killing all the others or better yet fighting itself.i mean get those computers warmed up and create a freaking story that will entertain us all instead wining and bitching.those that don't know usually tell others whats wrong.LOVE IT.all critics no creators. stop complaining and write a storyline since u all know whats wrong and show us how to make a good one.

nice little film overlooked at box office when it came out,no major stars a little love story taken place in ireland and with janeane garofalo as its star. a nice entertaining little movie.and some nice songs too boot.if u have not seen it check it out.might surprise u.a politician sends a female assistance to find his irish background because of his district he is running in.janeane runs into some strange characters including a matchmaker who decides to hook her up.she ends up falling for this fellow who repels her at first.but like always in films like this she falls for him and gives up her job and lives happily ever after.

Steve reeves is known for hercules and other muscle films like it but he also later made more adventure like films like this one and Morgan the pirate(another favorite).thief of Baghdad is a truly fantasy film with all the fantasy elements like flying horses and cloaks that make u invisible and so on.he plays a good hearted thief who steals to help the people of the city.then when the princess is put under a spell he joins the quest to find the blue rose to save her.a really good story line and not bad acting by reeves. i was lucky to buy an old rental copy VHS that is in great condition. i was also have a DVD not so great.so if u can find one of those rental copies VHS u find on ebay get it.mine is really great.

if u ever believed in evil and goodness of man this film tells it. it is not the only example of this.from ancient times to now man can be cruel as one can be and be good and kind.the Romans gave us so much in knowledge and laws and so on but for all this they held games of death as entertainment.this example of evil and good is shown well in Mel Gibson's apocalyto a story of one of the most civilized cultures in Mexico hundreds of years ago. yet for all there knowledge and buildings and learnings they were a savage people too just like the Romans.to please their gods they sacrificed humans in a terrible and savage way by stabbing and cutting them open and pulling out parts of the body supposedly to bring good harvest and to please the gods.and it wasn't just peoples of other tribes but they killed their own as well.picking girls and boys from their city to be killed something not shown in Mel's film.iam not an expert on Mayan or Aztec cultures but i know they were bright and intelligent and gave us many things but there were evil as men could be too.in war today we see this and in our entertainment as well.boxing,football,hockey and fighting all are violent entertainment and our movies what can u say about that.this movie is very violent and are so many more and we enjoy them.if man was not violent and evil we would not need jails or police.we would not need armies.but evil does exist as does goodness.each of us struggles with both every day.i too am a Christian but very liberal one.so i can see both sides of things and engage in discussion.but this movie is well made and presents the Mayan's as most of have never seen.the violence is no more gory than any other movie. but the chase scene in the last half of movie is just a copy of naked prey and another film i recall run of the arrow.but still was well done.and the ending was just that for the Mayan people when the Spanish ships arrive.the young warrior sees this and takes his family into the forest.a good film about evil in men and goodness.
