If you are thinking you are going to watch a retread of the old Matlock series, you are in for a big surprise. My The writing is on point and you will not see the twist that happens at the end of the first episode coming; as always, it is hard to take your eyes off Kathy Bates- she commands the screen as few actresses have ever been able. Give it an hour, just one hour. I have to imagine that the second episode takes a hard right in have a very different direction. I was skeptical when I first heard about the show. I was so glad I was bored on a Saturday night and decided to watch the the premier of the show. And come on now, it's got Beau Bridges. We can go home when he's part of the cast.
Whatever you think of Ezra Miller, it's think he's incredibly gifted and compelling to watch. I do hope he gets help for his mental illness because he needs to continue on with this character. The movie was exciting, funny (WW has a very funny encounter with Ben Affleck' Batman), and touching to the point I may have cried a little. There are several surprising DC cameos that I'm sure you've already hear about. The pacing was good and Michael Keaton reminded us of just how good he was in the Batman role. My only complaint is that some of the CGI looked a little too animated and I'm wondering if that was on purpose because it was highly noticeable. I hope James Gunn does the right thing and uses some of the actors from the current DC universe in future films. I think superhero movies are starting to wear thing on people, but this one is far better than the last several I've seen. I'm talking about you Ant-man.
I'm huge fans of Michael Caine and Ben Foster; I would pay to watch them play tic-tac-toe. I have loved almost everything they've been in. Well, that all changed today. This movie is a colossal failure on every front. The dialogue is horrible. The editing is horrible. The sound is beyond garbage. It sounded as if all of the audio was being filtered through a tin can in a bathroom. I couldn't understand a word anybody was saying. I couldn't tell if the plot is any good because I didn't know what the hell was going on. What a waste of time. If you want to see a good Ben Foster movie, go watch Hell or Highwater. If you want to see a good Michael Caine movie go watch anything he's done with Christopher Nolan. Avoid this garbage.
