Avatar: The Last Airbender
(2024)

Expected a lot worse! I'm very happy with it honestly.
I'm a massive ATLA fan, ever since I was a kid. And I was super skeptical since the previous movie sucked, but I will say that it succeeded my expectations. The cgi was amazing, the visuals and the cinematography was incredible! I was pleasantly surprised, but now here comes my disappointment with the show - the acting.

Though I definitely don't want to bash the teens who probably worked so hard to act in this show, like Gordon and Kiawentiio, however some of the older actors acting was pretty bad. Not to mention the way a lot of the dialogue was presented, it almost felt emotionless, extremely corny or sometimes rushed.

Next is the clothes and prop designs - some of the costumes were amazing, yet many were almost like a cosplay design - cheaply made and just ugly and unrealistic. It even made me laugh sometimes.

But otherwise, this is an amazing adaptation, and I expected something completely different and honestly, a lot worse.

Extraction 2
(2023)

Incredibly shot film with great cgi and acting. I don't know why it's rated so low.
I give it a 8.5.

People always complain about that Extraction 1 and 2 have a basic plot, and they basically lower their reviews due to it, but the plot is pretty solid. Sure we've seen similar multiple times, but what matters is the execution of the story. And they get a 10/10 for that.

The cgi and action is absolutely insane. That 20 minute long shot of that action scene was so so BEAUTIFUL. It's something I haven't seen done well in ages. The acting is magnificent, Chris Hemsworth as always, doing an incredible performance as well as their co-stares.

But the only thing people have to say that's bad about it is the plot. And their giving 5 or even 3 stars just for that. When I'd give it around a 7. But that doesn't change from the fact that it is an action filled movie with just insane directing. Not every movie or show needs a crazy plot line or story for it to be good.

Taekbaegisa
(2023)

It's not incredible or game changing but still a decent series.
The acting is alright, not incredible, but better than most Netflix films these days. In the action scenes and emotional scenes they were quite bad. Though in some other scenes it was nice. I give the acting a solid 7.5/10.

The action and fighting scenes were really unrealistic and very bad, sure some of 'em were great, and Really drew me in, but others just made me roll my eyes and laugh. The stupidity of some of these characters and the unrealism was embarrassing to watch. The action: 6/10.

The cinematography and cgi is very well done, it makes it really feel like a dystopian show, (unlike others) with the amount of blood and dirt in some scenes really made it feel realistic. 9/10

Storyline; the storyline is nice. Not too basic but also quite basic. The main character being stronger than everyone for almost no reason, while also getting random people to line up to fight with him? It's been done too many times. But I'll take it with the ubiquity of the show and some (not many) of the characters. 7.5/10.

Black Summer
(2019)

Really good show, but it needs some friendship development.
I was really surprised with how amazing this show was, the characters were both likeable and hatable, the acting was absolutely incredible, and the cinematography and cgi was awesome. The first zombie show I've actually enjoyed other than twd.

The problem is, there is absolutely no friendship development in the show. Once you've been attached to the character, something bad happens and they die. Sure the realism aspects of it just make sense. And it really puts you in the edge of your seat every time a character is in danger, but there should be 3 characters at least, who don't die straight away. Because otherwise it just gets annoying and almost frustrating because as soon as you start to like them, they die.

The Matrix
(1999)

Good movie. Not great.
I'm such a huge action movie fan, and I decided to watch this popular film. All I can say is, I was so disappointed. I expected a unique storyline, great acting, and cgi. But I didn't get a lot of those. Sure the overall story was unique, I mean I loved that so much. But the storyline was so predictable, the mc has a normal life, he is the chosen one, he saves the day, and gets with the female mc. So basic.

The acting was alright, I think it was just because of the way they moved made it seem super goofy. Idk.

The cgi made sense, I mean for 24 years ago I'd consider that to be incredible lmfao, but still it made me laugh at times.

Still a mediocre movie, nothing spectacular or special!

A Quiet Place
(2018)

A great horror movie. Sure, a lot of plot holes, but still beautifully shot.
"The Quiet Place" is an incredibly well-made horror movie that I highly recommend. The acting performances are outstanding, especially from John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, and the young actors playing their children. The cinematography is stunning and adds to the suspenseful atmosphere. The action scenes are also intense and gripping, and the story is unique and captivating.

Now, I'll be honest, there are a few plot holes in the film, but that's not uncommon for horror movies. Despite this, "The Quiet Place" is still a must-watch for anyone who loves horror or thrillers. It's suspenseful, tense, and will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you're looking for a well-made horror movie that will leave you satisfied, then "The Quiet Place" is definitely worth checking out.

Shingeki no Kyojin
(2013)

Incredible show - from someone who dislikes like anime.
In these reviews all I hear are the people who a huge weebs, who only like those type of shows (and that's ok). But if you're a person looking at this show, wondering if it's good even though you may not like anime or if you do. Read this review.

Story rating: 10/10 The show's premise is phenomenal, it has incredible storytelling that really draws you in from the second you watch it. It shows the characters lives, the worlds layout, so perfectly it's insane. The unique universe and storyline just says it all. As well as the protagonists and antagonists are given great reasons for who they are, and why they came who they became. It also gives the audience an option to stan any side (bad or good side) based on who you agree with. This is only ever shown in one other show (that I know of so far), which was game of thrones.

Cinematography: 9/10 When I say cinematography, I mean the detail they put into each frame. And the detail in the early seasons were a 20/10. Istg real life action wasn't as good as this. Even if I saw it in real life, I feel that the show's quality would've been better. Though, in the later season, after they (I think) changed studio, it wasn't as good but still great!

Should you watch?

Yes. Even if you dislike these shows or don't have time, it will be worth your while. I couldn't stop rewatching after I finished, and I didn't expect I would like an anime in my life. I give it a good 10/10.

John Wick
(2014)

Amazing acting, simple story, and 10/10 action
The movie completely nailed the acting, the cinematography, the fight scenes, and suspense. Each actor and actress did absolutely incredible, they all made me feel as if it was a real life experience, the blood and gore and emotion.

Keanu Reeves, Alfie Allen, Michael Nyqvist, and Willem Dafoe did a 10/10 job.

What I had a problem with was the basic story that every person has heard of, something bad happens and the guy goes for revenge, and he wins. But I did like the fact that it was an animal that made John do all of it, and also that we didn't have to watch his entire backstory on how he became who he is.

Over all: Acting: 9.5/10 Story: 6.5/10 Cinematography: 9/10 Acton: 10/10 Would I recommend this to someone who likes action movies: 100% Would I recommend this to someone who wants a good story: Not really, but it's worth a watch regardless!

Overall: 9/10.

Avatar: The Way of Water
(2022)

Incredible visuals, acting, cinematography. Just badly paced.
When I first started the movie, I absolutely loved the introduction, it showed the fact that they had children, and what exactly happened to everyone during the time jump. It did it so perfectly, from the acting the visuals, the dialogue, and the pacing. Everything was going to well.

Though, the rest of the movie lacked the pacing, some, and most scenes were paced either, too long, or way too quick. Over half the movie was way too fast paced, such as, the flying scenes, the bonding scenes (with the adults to the children, and the children with other children), and the none violent scenes. The violent scenes, were either too slowly paced, or perfectly paced.

I completely understand why, I do know that the movie was already too long, but it felt so quick. The acting scenes were incredible, and I absolutely loved the character development, and how much the movie series has changed.

But what I would like in future films, is more Jake, and less of his children. Incredible movie, 9/10.

The Menu
(2022)

Great movie, just forgettable.
The Menu had a very interesting, and unique plot, it was original and I loved that I couldn't predict anything (unlike most movies), the characters had great stories, I liked the ending for each character, and loved the character development.

But... the story had no impact, and no real meaning, (from what I could tell) It didn't exactly stick out to me while I was watching, or after I watched. Sure the plot twists were quite unexpected, and the acting was phenomenal, it just had no real reason for me to continue watching, just a story with amazing acting, great characters, dialogue, and a really nice looking burger at the end.

Overall 7/10.
