Deep Down
(2002)

Dark yet extremely funny.
I was shown this short film during a women director's talk, and it appeared to me to be the type of short film that others should aspire to be like.

Focusing on the relationship between dying mother and daughter, the camera is used to bring up more intimately into their world. The luxurious design and dialogue between the two women is inspired and the ending is hilarious despite it's disturbing undertones.

The only thing wrong with this is that fact that it is such a short film, and therefore we do not follow the characters any further despite warming to them and wishing to discover more about them. This film could have been the basis for a wonderful full length film, which would have even compelled me to pay £6 to watch at the cinema.

Footballers' Wives
(2002)

So unbelievably camp... and that's the appeal!
I absolutley LOVE footballer's wives!! It may have over the top characters and story lines, but that's why everyone loves it. Unfortunatley series 2 has now finished with a wicked cliffhanger of an ending, but i know that most of the UK can't wait for the third series to start. The guys are all gorgeous and the girl's outfits simply divine... I kinda of have a love- hate relationship with Tanya Turner, but she is definently the most interesting character in the show...

so come on ITV, bring back Footballer's Wives - SOON!
