Every Witch Way
(2014)

Racism?...on NICK
The pretty multi-cultral ads for "Every Witch Way" are put into sharp contrast with the shows content within the first 5 Minutes of the first episode. Nickelodeon once heralded as the model for cross-cultural education with programs like Dora the Explorer and Diego has decided to brand all Caucasian Americans and African Americans as Villains in its new tween Dramedy "Every Witch Way".

Nick rebirths the 90's sitcom formula that vilifies "White" people, only this time targeting the developing minds of our children. Structured from its telenovela roots, "Every Witch Way" was developed for North America. Unlike the original series "Grachi" released on NICK Latin America whose cast is culturally homogenous, the north American version recasts all of the antagonists cast as Caucasian, African and Asian Americans.

It is unclear if the Executives at Nickelodeon consciously chose to develop the show with this racial slant or if they are just asleep at the wheel. Assigning a writer with her cultural blinders on is irresponsible.
