Mean Creek
(2004)

Wow
This movie completely took me by surprise. I saw it mostly because I love independent films and have been a fan of Carly Schroeder and Rory Culkin for awhile now, and make it a point to see whatever either of them are in. But wow, was I shocked. I have never seen that kind of depth (acting wise) from kids like this. Every actor was brilliant and unique in there performances. The characters were realistic and relate able, the writing and directing (by first timer Jacob Aaron Estes) are immaculate, and the story is completely believable and leaves you thinking about it after you leave the theater. I can't even pick a stand out performance, because unlike most films today, all of the six leads were stand outs. This movie is unlike no other you'll see, and it will affect you in ways that will stay with you. I'd recommend this movie to anyone. 9/10.

Hostage
(2005)

Foster makes it worth it
OK, so this movie wasn't exactly as good as the trailer made it look. Let's face it, what is anymore? This was was it was. A decent hostage movie. It's not about to win the Oscar, and some parts of it may be a bit tedious, but the light of this movie was none other than Ben Foster, for me at least. He took a risk with this character (he usually plays the 'good guy') and he completely embodied him. Sure, most people in the theatre spend the entire time hating his character. But he definitely stole the spotlight from Bruce Willis as well as most of the other actors in the film. Don't see it for the story.. don't see it for Bruce.. go see this for Ben who has a very bright future ahead of him. Bravo.

Catch Me If You Can
(2002)

Fabulous Film...Dicaprio at his best
Catch Me If You Can is the real life story of the forger/con man Frank Abagnale Jr. This movie was outstanding. Let me tell you, I expected it to be good, but not this good. The movie was entertaining from start to finish. Not one dull moment. Leonardo Dicaprio deserves the Golden Globe for this movie. This is by far the best preformance he has ever done in his career. If he dosen't get the Globe, I will no longer have any faith in the movie industry. He WAS Frank Abagnale Jr. He played the part to perfection. Go see this movie. It's worth the 6 bucks and more

White Oleander
(2002)

Heartwarming & Simply Amazing
White Oleander was an outstanding film. It was a true look into the life of a teenager who just wanted to be loved by someone. Astrid was such an amazingly written charactor and Alison Lohman was outstanding as Astrid. She was real and genuine. She is a truely gifted actress. Micheal, Robin, & Renee also did an outstanding job as the women in Astrid's life. The movie was heatwarming, touching, and truely impressed me. If you won't go see this movie for it's subject, go see it for Lohman's preformance.

Moonlight Mile
(2002)

Excellent Movie & Preformances
Moonlight Mile was an excellent movie with an all star cast. I will admit that the movie was slow at times, but it quickly picked up momentum. The outstanding and riveting preformances by Susan Surandon, Dustin Hoffman, Ellen Pompeo, and the amazing Jake Gyllenhaal were enough to not even make you notice the slowness of the film at times.

This movie had one thing that many films no adays don't have...heart and understanding. As the movie evolved you could feel everything that these charactors were going through. The direction and writing were outstanding. But to get down to it, the movie captured true human emotion to the core. And that is what counts. If Jake Gyllenhaal dosen't get an Oscar or Golden Globe or SAG award nomination for this film, then I will have little or no faith in the academy or the movie industry. Jake took the charactor of Joe and turned him into more than a charactor, he made him real in every aspect of the word.

Bottom Line : Go see this movie and prepare to be amazed

Red Dragon
(2002)

Terrific
Red Dragon truly lived up to all that I anticipated it to be. The preformances by Edward Norton, Mary Louise Parker, Emily Watson, Ralph Fiennes, and especially Anthony Hopkins were outstanding. The movie itself was riveting, exciting, and was about 100 times better than I thought it would be. If you like the Silence of the Lambs movies, this is one to go see. It's worth the six dollars to get in

Swimfan
(2002)

Awesome Movie
I loved this movie. I loved the way it was filmed , the story to it was gripping , but the main thing in the movie that made it work were the actors. Jesse Bradford , Shiri Appleby , & the amazing Erika Christensen stole the show showing off there amazing acting talents. If your a teen , you won't like this movie. It's a movie for young people. So all of the adults commenting on this movie badly need to stop because this is NOT an adult movie

Girl
(1998)

One of the best movies I have ever seen
I know this sounds lame , but "Girl" completely changed my outlook on life. The movie is enjoyable from start to finish. It makes you feel good about who you are and it makes you think that you are normal in this world of jurks and retards in high school aka the jocks and cheerleaders. Andrea is one of the most relatable and enjoyable charactors I have ever seen in a movie. And the script of the movie is to die for. The dialogue is smart , sexy , and most importantly real. I would reccomend this movie to any teenager

Deuces Wild
(2002)

GREAT MOVIE!!!
I loved this movie! I saw it last night and I thought it was awesome! Steven Dorff and Brad Renfro were brilliant in their roles. The movie was very real and gritty. I felt like I was right there on the side lines in the 50's. It was great!

Lovely & Amazing
(2001)

A Really Great Movie
Lovely and Amazing was suprisingly a great film. I went to see it for Jake Gyllenhaal , who played the guy that Catherine Keener was having the affair with. I love Jake , he's awesome. But I found something OTHER than just him , I found a truly real , fantastic , touching story of a family that just can't get it together. But by the end they realize that there no good apart from eachother. Catherine Keener , Brenda Blethyn , Emily Mortimer , & Jake Gyllenhaal all give wonderful preformances. The screenplay is awesome. The filming of the movie was cool. And the big screen debut of Raven Goodwin (Annie) was outstanding. She's only 9 years old and she's an incredible actress. Expect to see alot of her in Hollywood. So PLEASE go see this movie. Because it really does live up to it's name....Lovely and Amazing

24
(2001)

Best hour on television
24 is one of the best shows since Roswell. The cast is magnificent with amazing talents like Keifer Sutherland and Dennis Haysbert and the new found talent of Elisha Cuthbert. At first I thought the show would never make it becayuse it's based on one day. But my god was I proven wrong. This is one of the best shows I have ever seen and IS the best show on television.

When a Man Loves a Woman
(1994)

A Masterpiece
When A Man Loves A Woman is one of the most heart wrenching , wonderful , beautifully written films I have ever seen. This movie has been sitting on my movie shelf for years because it is one of my mother's favorite movies. I am a big Meg Ryan fan so I popped it in the VCR one day when I was bored and I was moritified. Meg Ryan and Andy Garcia give Academy Award callibar preformances as a husband and wife going through alcoholism. This is definately Meg Ryan at her very best. I would recommend this movie to anyone who has a heart

The Big Chill
(1983)

One of the best movies ever made
I had never seen The Big Chill until tonight. I am only 16 so when the film was made in 1983, I wasn't even born yet. My mom always talks about the movie when it comes on tv and she always said that it one of the best movies she has ever seen. Well I saw it and I couldn't even believe how good it was. The writing and acting was amazing. And the story was great. I would recommend this movie to everyone over the age of 15. The movie also had great music.

A Walk to Remember
(2002)

Great Movie!
A Walk To Remember was amazing. I loved it so much. It defines what every good teen movie should be. It is the best teen movie I have seen in a LONG time. I was going to the movie at first because I am a huge fan of Shane West because of Once and Again, which I have been watching since it's premiere in 1999. But I never expected the movie to be THAT good. Mandy Moore's preformance was breathtaking as she played the charactor of Jaime Sullivan. I never expected her to be any good. And Shane West was amazing as always. I didn't expect anything but excellence from him.

For all the bad reviews out there, you must not have a heart. Because that is what this movie was, all heart. I feel sorry for all of you who didn't enjoy it :)
