Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
(2007)

if we just pretend there was no book to be based on the movie would be better than it is now
I first saw the movie not long after it had been released here in Australia. I had really liked all the previous films( thougth no where near as good as the books) and went in with high expectations and fortunately was not disappointed.

First with the negative. Firstly the incredible amount of parts of the book that were cut from the final film. The lack of quidditch, Ron and hermione's promotion to prefects, Hagrids class with the Thestrals, Harry and Cho's disastrous date and several other significant parts of the plot which were either cut or shortened. Understanably the scenes set in St Mungos were cut because another set would have to be build but scenes which were necessary for the plot and had sets to film in should have included.

Now the positive. Special effects were brilliant. The scene around the archway with all the order of the Phoenix fighting the death eaters was done superbly.Daniel,Rupert and Emma's performances were the best out of all the films. They seem to improve with every film. The minor characters like Gary Oldman(Sirius Black),Imelda staunton(Dolores Umbridge) and Bonnie Wright(Ginny Weasley) were also great performances from these terrific actors.

Over all Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix was a great film and makes me long for the next one.

The Chaser's War on Everything
(2006)

truly comedy genius
everyone is a genius in something. Albert Einstien was a genius in science, William Shakespeare was a genius in literature and the boys from the Chasers war on everything are truly comedy geniuses. Their satire TV show is a constant hit on the Australian broadcast commission ( ABC ). After a small start as a satire newspaper, the chasers popularity skyrocketed when given their own television show. Never short on controversy with the cast members will do everything some of it even being arrested for. Chris Taylor going on Sunrise, a very popular live morning television show and telling his partner to f***k off, creating a fake motorcade and driving into APEC high security area and doing a very funny satire of a Australian ad about nicotine by following smokers around yelling out "NO GARY NO NO GARY NO". While controversial the show is increably funny and worthy of running for years to come.

Doctor Who: Love & Monsters
(2006)
Episode 10, Season 2

lack of Dr who atmosphere.
As much as i like the new seasons of Doctor Who, for me it is almost like the show has been killed. The same characters, monsters and aliens are in the show but it is nothing like the original series. This episode in particular has a genuine lack of Dr who atmosphere. Apart from the fact that David Tennant and Billie Piper are only in the episode for five minutes, it just doesn't feel like an episode of Dr Who. Everything is wrong. Their is no mystery, no plot surprises, nothing that makes this a Doctor who story. The show has been going down steadily ever since the cancellation back in 89. While the special effects are much better it just dose not feel like Dr who.

A View to a Kill
(1985)

the underrated bond film
It is quite surprising that this film has been called the worst James Bond film. This film is underrated. I find it to be the best James Bond film. The plot is very original and the music is fantastic( great song by Duran Duran). But one of the best actors in the film is not Roger Moore but Christopher Walkin. His portrayal of the cold hearted physchopath Max Zorin is spectacular. He seems born for the part. The greatest part of the film is the pre-title scenes. James Bond dodging bullets as he skies across the ice is fantastic. Another great part is cliffhanger atop the golden gate bridge.I recommend this movie for all 007 fans. It is the best one of the series.
