Safety Not Guaranteed is one of those films where you think about in the back of your mind long after you've finished seeing it. I went and saw this film during a dark time in my life... and I can easily say that it played a huge role in saving me that night. 3 months later, I stumbled across it again while renting movies with my boyfriend. Assuming that I was biased in rating it a 9, I convinced my boyfriend to watch it with me. Nothing changed. I was still entranced. It still left me with this indescribable warmth and melancholy. I've never been unable to emote how I felt about a certain film before, Safety Not Guaranteed would be a first for me. Everything about it worked. Great independent film.

Not to mention my "strictly crude comedy or action based film only" boyfriend loved the movie as well. As he was beginning to tell me how he liked the film and why, his eyes welled up! And that made me cry ever more so.

How anyone can call this show boring and complete garbage is mind boggling for me. What hurts even more? Some of them claiming to be Joss Whedon's "fan" had actually said he lost his potential.

For one, Joss Whedon can never lose... anything. His mind is constantly working to create diverse, intelligent, cult-driven shows that will take us on an emotional high every time we watch it.

Dollhouse is perfect, even with its flaws (because honestly, nothing is "perfect" or else our world wouldn't be what it is). Joss is able to create villains that aren't villains. There aren't any demons or vampires or the supernatural here, and I think that's what makes some viewers dislike the show so much. They can't watch it and distance themselves from it by saying, "Oh he's a vampire so therefore blah blah... etc." In Dollhouse it's all about human nature and where we've taken ourselves. And that no matter how advanced our technology may be, we are all the same... always. You can never take someones soul away.

I refuse to watch anything belonging to Fox ever again (unless Joss somehow signs with them yet AGAIN for some Goshforsaken reason). I don't know how much more grief I can take when they go off and cancel it. Ugh. W-ankers!

I'm a sucker for romantic comedies. And I'm a bigger fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar/Prinze so maybe I'm a little biased when it comes to this movie.

Okay, so there are some pretty big flaws. But compared to most "chick flick" romantic comedies released these past couple years, Simply Irresistible is just simply much more enjoyable. The plot is simple, (wow, I need to use a thesaurus) but somehow it brings out the more romantic part in me. We've got these two beautiful actors, a magic crab, and voilà! They fall in love. Not all movies have to be complex and "deep" in order to be enjoyable and this movie proves just that. Light, fun, fairytale romance. What girl wouldn't say "awwwweh" to that?

So yeah, season 7 wasn't as great as the previous 6 seasons, but it was still brilliant in its own way. It has been stated before that Joss looks over every script for each episode to approve of it and perhaps make some additional changes of his own. When I first watched this episode, I was so angry. I was in tears. It felt like I was punched in the gut for no words could describe the disbelief I felt at the Scoobies behaviour towards Buffy. Sure they've had interventions and disagreements before (see season 3, when they "attack" Buffy once they find out she's been keeping Angel being alive as a secret) but never have they full out turned against her like that. It just did not fit. I watched it and thought to myself "who the hell are these people?!?!?! Joss Whedon, what the frack is going on?" But now, (after 6 years lol) I have come to the conclusion that Joss did it on purpose. He wanted this effect to happen to us. He wanted us to feel exactly how Buffy felt. The entire episode builds up from the aftermath of the last episode, which started out with everyone on Buffy's side, trusting her, following her only to have it end badly. REALLY badly. Having Xander, the heart of the group, lose an eye was like a slap in the face for everyone. And in "Empty Places" you can see Buffy shutting down. You can tell how awful she feels about Xander and doubting her ability to lead these people, to then realizing that she was right all along about Caleb and the cellar, only to THEN have the closest people to her turn their backs on her. And having Dawn (that biotch) kicking her out of her own house (again, i really hate Dawn at this moment).

In this episode, we are Buffy. We hurt, and we're so tired that we give up at the end.

Joss makes us realize that sometimes, during dark times, the people you care about just might not be there for you. That things can indeed, get worse.

Of course, they also had to end the episode with Buffy so despondent because then in the next episode Spike can swoop in and be the big hero, thus again further developing the "new" relationship between Buffy and Spike.

Well done. I hated this episode with every fibre of my being, while realizing just how good it was in it's intent to make me feel this way. (Does that even make any sense?)

I never watched the show while it was on TV, and the only reason why I bought the first season was because it was on sale for $13.00. And then I found myself buying the second season... third season... and now, fourth season. I am currently waiting for seasons 5 & 6 to go on sale (lol, sadly I can't afford them at the price they're at now) Anyways, back to the show. A lot of reviews on here say the show is unrealistic. That teenage kids don't talk like that or act like that. I say, so what? If you want complete accuracy, watch a documentary, or better yet, go back to highschool and sit there and watch the kids there. Dawson's Creek was meant to entertain, to bring everyday stuff teens do go through and adding a hefty dose of angst to it. Yes, the language in the show is quite sophisticated. That's the reason why I love it so much. It's smart. It's for lack of a better and cheesy word "deep." I don't know about the last two seasons, but I sure as hell enjoyed the first four. I recommend it for those who hate the stuff that's on TV nowadays.

The chemistry between the two main characters were believable. It annoys me when people compare these two to that of the characters in the show Bones, or any other show for that matter.I adore Nathan Fillion, I find him to be an incredible actor,especially in Firefly and was excited to see him star in a new show.

The plot was slightly predictable, but the writing was well done and humorous thus kept me hooked and entertained. I think what will make this show stick is the acting. For example, there was one moment during the pilot when the female lead (sorry, I'm drawing a blank on her name right now) visually blushed when Fillion gave her a kiss on the cheek. (sure it could have been the trick of camera/makeup, but still, attention to detail like that is impressive. Does anybody remember seeing any character blush when something embarrassing or hot happens? Ya didn't think so.) I'm hoping this show continues and doesn't get cancelled too soon. Give it a shot!

There are so many reviews on why you should watch this show and how brilliant it is, so I'm not going to even bother with that part. I'm just going to say this: Sure watching TV could turn your brain into mush, but that's only if the audience continues to fill said brain with mindless, stupid shows with either talentless writers, actors, and directors that think we're too dumb to handle anything complex. (And in complex, I don't just mean "drama" like on shows such as The O.C. or Gossip Girl). Watching Gilmore Girls has not only been entertaining, but also educational. Why? Because your mind is keeping up with the fast-paced dialogue, if you miss out on a word/sentence it could change your reaction completely. Also, all of the pop culture, literature...etc. references the writers throw in, I must admit, I don't get most of it and end up looking it up after on the internet.

Stop watching those insipid TV shows and go buy yourself Gilmore Girls. It's worth it.

I am usually able to write decent reviews, especially for films in which I'd immensely enjoyed... but I seem to be having trouble with this particular film.

I have become a part of the narrator. I have become one of the boys who were obsessed and loved and forever haunted by the Libson sisters. I can imagine myself a few weeks after seeing this movie still trying to figure out the pieces. Still trying to put together the sequence of events, the "why" of it all.

Another reviewer said in their summary that the film "kept me quite still" and I could not agree more. I wasn't just sitting back in my chair to be entertained by a fictional story, like I said before, I had become a part of the characters. Never once had a movie made me forget myself like that. Blahh. Enough of this. Great film. Highly recommended for those of us who too prefer to live in our fantasies than reality.

I wonder if all of the negative comments about the show were based on their viewings of episodes from the 3rd season? Then it would actually make sense. I was hooked on Veronica Mars from the very first episode. Having just ended Buffy I was devastated and believed that no other show that wasn't created by Joss Whedon could be as witty and emotionally gratifying ever again. And Veronica Mars delivered just that. The first two seasons were excellent. And I'm not sure what happened but the third season did NOT deliver. Sure being a fan already I still tuned in to watch it every week, and there were some episodes that was up to par with the previous two seasons, but too few for my liking. I would have liked UPN, er, the CW to have given VM another season, but after I saw a little promo for season 4, I'm glad they ended the show. (although the season finale totally left me wanting more! grrr! one of the few good episodes and it HAD to be for the finale!) So although the last season was quite disappointing, I still put Veronica Mars as one of my favourite TV shows.

Usually if I came into a movie with high expectations, I'd leave the theatre feeling slightly disappointed. Wall-e was NOT one of those times. Actually, at first, I didn't even want to see yet another Disney/Pixar film for quite some time. And I blame this all upon watching the trailer on TV. The trailer was quite short, and in my opinion, kind of "blah." Suffice to say it did not capture my interest whatsoever. Thinking back on it now, I'm actually glad the trailers revealed nothing because from the moment I sat down and the film appeared on screen I was enthralled, surprised, and overall very satisfied. Finding Nemo was the latest animated feature that was able to make me feel emotions on a deep level rather than just the usual entertaining factor while watching these types of movies. And while watching Wall-e, his sense of loneliness was so powerful it made my heart ache for him. But what made me enjoy it more was the fact that the writers didn't just throw it in our faces, but the feeling was constantly there, even during the comedic moments.

I could gush about this film for another hour... but I won't. Simply one of the best films of 2008.

Having seen pretty much all of the movies which star Mandy Moore, I rented Dedication assuming it would be another one of those feel good typical romantic comedies. Mandy Moore has come a long way since The Princess Diaries and A Walk to Remember. I must say romantic comedies suit her, and she does an exceptional job in this one. It's hard to describe this movie... I guess you could call it a romantic comedy, but it can also be under the Drama category as well. Billy Crudup was excellent as the cynical bitter author with deep psych issues. And yet despite his character I was still attracted to the guy (and not just for his looks!) The chemistry between Mandy and Billy was definitely there. So I am confused as to why some people didn't believe the two could have fallen in love? I say this because although their romance doesn't come full out until near the very end, certain gestures and looks, especially by Billy (Henry) convinced me that he was so very attracted to Mandy (Lucy) and was doing everything in his power to hide it or make it go away. Anyways, I would really recommend this movie if you're looking for a different take on those typical romantic comedies. It certainly left me a bit teary eyed.

Juno is excellent. By far the best movie I have seen in 2007, and so far for 2008. Since its release date, I've gone to see it twice, and plan on seeing it again very soon. I find myself constantly quoting the movie, and or singing parts of the songs. (Wonderful soundtrack by the way. Such quirky odd music!!!) I was skeptical at first, never really been a fan of Jennifer Garner, never seen Superbad, and I only saw Ellen Page in "Hard Candy" so I wondered whether or not they could pull off over an hour and a half of dialogue. Heck yes they did! Ellen Page dominated each scene. This role was made for her. If she doesn't get nominated/win a major award for this movie I will be incredibly t-off! I would most definitely recommend this Indie film to everyone above the age of 13.

I didn't watch Firefly when it aired on TV, mainly because I didn't have the channel FOX. And I'm glad. Because I'm still very very p-offed at FOX. It didn't give Firefly a chance. It aired the episodes out of order. The airing of said episodes were done at bogus times, with so little advertising. Come to think of it, Fox didn't deserve to have a show like Firefly. Besides BtVS and AtS, this was the most unique show to hit the TV screens in a long lonnnnnng time. For those of you who've watched the random episodes aired on TV, I would suggest that you go and buy the DVD and watch it in the order it was intended. It will be worth your 30 bucks. Especially if you're a Joss Whedon fan.

I must say, this is probably one of the best "spin-off" shows ever. I originally assumed it would have the Buffy the Vampire Slayer atmosphere, and that the character Angel wouldn't be too likable. Boy I was wrong. Compared to Buffy, this show doesn't have any of the cutesy bubbly stuff. It's dark.Very dark. It depressed me. And I loved it. Don't get me wrong, Angel has some very funny moments. The script is nothing but witty. The writers and their ability to incorporate that "Joss humour" with a painful scene is what makes this show an absolute gem. My only disappointment? Angel the Series never had the chance to continue for another season like they deserved. However, the finale was done incredibly. Made me absolutely bloody speechless.

I've watched this show from its very first episode. And I've been a fan ever since. I'm not going to try and convince people to watch this show and love it like I do. If people dismiss the show because of the title "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," then they probably won't appreciate the brilliance of it. Btvs was something that everyone could relate to. It dealt with problems that we face each day, only Buffy does it while fighting supernatural beings. It had wit, drama, humour, and incredible fight scenes. All the actors did an exceptional job. (My favourite is James Marsters, man can he act) Some might say the show dragged on too long. I think the 7 season was the perfect time to end. We've seen the characters evolve from 16 year old highschool kids to the beginning of adulthood. The writers were smart and realised that there really wasn't anything more to add to the world of Buffy. If there were to be an 8th season, now that would have been a disappointment. (There is an 8th season, but in Comic Books. Which I haven't read yet) Btvs will forever in my mind, be a classic. Turning on the TV nowadays saddens me, for there aren't any shows which carry such depths like Buffy did. Oh well, at least I got the dvds
