Tourgasm
(2006)

comedy tour minus the comedy.
how did they screw this up? in theory the idea was great. a really good comedian invites some up and coming comedians to go across country with a video crew.

it should have been like a real "entourage". instead I found myself watching 4 surprisingly unlikeable people.

you know how in every survival movie where a bunch of people are thrown together and try to survive a tragedy there always is like 1 obnoxious Person in the bunch that ends up getting people on edge and killed? well imagine a whole bus of that person on the road. they just aren't likable or funny to watch. and I wanted to like this. I just couldn't figure out how it could go so wrong seeing as Dane's act is so funny.

The 40 Year Old Virgin
(2005)

surprisingly deep movie.
weird....as far as comedy's go,yuk yuk wise, I hardly laughed while watching this movie, but just the same I found it very very insightful and smart to the point where I didn't care.from how it came to pass he remained a virgin to his friends advice on how to lose his virginity or why he was still one, I totally believed the theories and advice.this movie was genuine.

this movie will be like office space for me, it was shot so stylishly that i will be able to watch it over and over and over again.the movie makes you want to get out there and get lucky.I like bright, upbeat comedies.this was like that. I also liked the interesting storyline how his co-workers instead of really embarrassing him took it upon themselves to help him get laid.great movie.

The Office
(2005)

the problem for me..........
the problem for me was some little things.having worked in various offices I can tell you Americans don't act so mousy or reserved and nervous as shown on the American version.

it may seem right how English people are but not Americans. also, sometimes a boss sets the tone for an office. and seeing how he is such a clown, it baffles me how people would be so reserved in his office.

there were some bright spots, but the British version was so good that its hard for me to get over it and accept this version even though I am American and want to like it. I will give it a shot though.I need to find a good series to watch and seeing as I thought the original office ended way too soon, cripes after only 2 seasons??come on!

Thirteen
(2003)

fantastic!
I think we have all known a girl like evie.she's the type that you could drop her in any city'school or area in America, and she will hit the ground running and be THE popular wild girl everyone wants and lusts after and who everyone wants to hang around.no matter where she moves, she will become the in crowd.

I think the movie captured the essence of that type of girl perfectly. she really is an interesting character.bad girl,YET because she can be so engaging she disarms immediatlly. notice how evie goes against the usual bad girl type cast by doing little odd things such as happily and in a very friendly way offers her new friends nerdy friend a slice of pizza.see the duo faces of the girl?her beauty and sweetness out of the blue knock people off guard allowing her to pretty much run riot in any situation and get away with it.

hard to believe the actress who played her also had a hand in the script.so young.but she is headed for big things, if not in the acting dept, most likely the writing.

No Holds Barred
(1989)

surreal
it was late one halloween night I had fallen asleep with my TV on and I woke up like 2 in the morning, opened my eyes and this movie was playing. I was a little groggy, but was then awake and couldnt get back to sleep and figured might as well watch this. the thing that surprised me, is, this movie is standard fair as far as fish out of water fighting against incredible odds to win something movies go, but I just LOVED the look of this movie. it was filmed very beaituflly, with some very surreal scenes. such as that rough bar hulk went to and got intoa fight, the look of the bar with the lights shining thru the walls and the colorful look of it really caught my eye. from then on, the strange thing was, while I wasnt incredibly taken with the plot, I thought the film itself, as far as the scenes was really....well........sharp and cool.

Resident Evil
(2002)

I thought it rocked
I thought there were some very effective scary scenes in this movie! like when the power went down and the doors opened up releasing the zombies. you dont see them, you just see the a slight movement of shadows on the wall near the open doors, the part where that guy was listening intently at the air vent up in the ceiling and he could hear the moaning and screaming from the zombies way in the distance....creepy. ok, the dog scene should have been deleted. it was really hokey. I thought the zombies looked scary as hell. I was also really touched by that hot woman in the movie. she really seemed to care about the others around her, whereas in most other monster movies its everyone for themselves.that special forces latino woman was getting on my nerves. I mean they all knew what they were getting into, they I am sure had some data that a deadly virus was involved, yet she walks right up to obviously infected zombies and gets bitten! come on! also, the guy at the end who got scratched, instead of saying COME ON! give me that cure for the virus shot he and she start babbling wasting precious time. I would have demanded that shot right after getting bitten or sliced. not wait till everything was A ok!

Day of the Dead
(1985)

best atmosphere of all the dead films
I am surprised by some of the reviews. this movie created such a dread and dark atmosphere that when I saw this on a halloween night at a late night packed movie theater I was seriously scared out of my wits. I mean I really felt how terrifying it must have been being a normal person underground afraid of the sick flesh eating zombies above AND the scary paramilitary types below you are with. its like being trapped between a rock and a hard place. the zombies never looked as scary or as sick. there was nothign campy about them.they were just plain scary. and the dark underground emviroment really added to the tension as if there was no hope above or below. there were some great innovative ideas.......bub the zombie who remembered some of his past undead life, the scene where the bad guy was pulled apart and eaten alive while yelling at the zombies to choke on it. its been too long, I cant wait for the new one when romero finally gets it done! I hope he doesnt shoot for a mass audience and make a low gore version!

The Bermuda Depths
(1978)

this movie haunted me - Spoilers
this movie tricked me. I was really into scifi monster movies when I was really young. and the commercial made it seem that this was a monster movie. so I watched it, and as a young boy i took in what turned out to be a sort of romance/horror movie. most likely my first experience watching a romantic movie. I am convinced this movie is why I have been attracted only to brunettes. so after all these years I finally got a copy. I was almost afraid to watch it despite the haunting memories of it. I was really afraid that I wouldnt find the woman who played jenny as beautiful as my mind remembered her.but she was.and although the effects were bad, i found myself with that same feeling I had watching it again. the part at the end where he threw the necklace jenny made into the sea really made me sad, as did the turtle with the jenny and magnus carved into its shell. the editing was kinda spotty in some parts and I got the feeling my copy is missing a couple small scenes, but hopefully they release this on DVD. you wont believe some of the crap they release, but why not this older movie?
