Cube 2: Hypercube
(2002)

Unbelievably Awful
Imagine a director hires a team of Bad Voice over actors, gives them all sorts of mind altering substances, tells them to ham it up, overact, emote all word associated thoughts and that was the extent of the directing. Add to this scenario a story that is made up during filming in a box and makes nonsense reality. This is what this movie is.

I spent 30 minutes shaking my head with this cringiest of movies ever.

This had to be made as a joke. The distinction between science fiction and comedy has been discovered.

In a scenario of life and death the only expressions are anger, goofiness, flippancy, and slapstick. No reactions by actors are based on human response. If you want to be annoyed, watch this movie.

Beef

They shoot horses, don't they? Marathon Dance.
I believed that I discovered a great marathon worthy series. I'm doing a marathon but what was at first interest that had me hit Next Episode has turned into pure drudgery. I lost interest at episode 3. I'm continuing in order to get to completion.

At this point I really don't know why I'm continuing. I've become bored with the quirky characters, the convoluted plot, and am finding it difficult to tune in for more.

The acting is wonderful as are all the logistics of filming a series but 6 episodes in I pray that it ends soon. I need to take breaks in between episodes and psych myself up to the task if sitting through more of the same. It has become monotonous and dreary. No fun here. I feel like I took a big fat barbituate. I'm not sleepy but have been numbed. Only a million more episodes. I think those ing a 10 did so after only episodes 1 or 2. I think I'll watch the remaining episodes at 2X speed.

Anatomie d'une chute

Anatomy of a Bore
I went into this expecting a courtroom drama. The 7+ Star rating gave me no inkling I'd be watching a movie that I'd have to watch in 3 sittings. I knew after a few scenes of watching people stare into space, appear to be in thought that I was not going to enjoy or be engaged let alone riveted to the screen.

I found this movie to be Very long, uneventful, and quite boring. I was looking at the clock and runtime praying for something to happen to spark my interest or just be over.

It dragged on and on.

I assumed by the rating that the movie would be on par with better courtroom dramas. I recalled 12 Angry Men, To Kill a Mockingbird, even The Exorcism of Emily Rose. No such luck. I wasted nearly 3 hours and $6 to be bored and frustrated.

This film had zero impact other than having me learn to do more research on films I rent.

I guess I am a plebe since the brilliance went over my head, assuming there was brilliance.

Don't expect Drama or thought provocation because it lacks both.

97 Minutes
(2023)

Excruciating Cringefest
I sat through the first 30 mins in disbelief. I can't imagine how any frame of this movie wasn't clipped out leaving nothing.

Every aspect had me shaking my head. The acting was over the top or monotonous or both. I guess they were making it up as they went along because this sermed to be lacking a director.

The dialogue wasn't inaudible or incomprehensible, was preposterous.

There clearly was no casting director, I assume the rolls were filled on a first come first served basis. Every character had similar traits and attitudes. Reality was not part of this production. It felt like they knew this was a trainwreck and did the least amount of work to rush and get it over with.

Ten minutes into the film I was checking the counter. Honestly, I stopped at the halfway mark and have zero motivation to see what happens. Really Sad.

Stay Out of the F**king Attic
(2020)

Annoying at best
Four writers! I am sure they are noted for the single purpose of assigning Blame for the magnitude of ineptitude that leads this movie.

Not one are got it right except for CGI. The list of people involved that should Never work again; Casting for hiring a comatose lead, Music for supplying 70s background that didn't work, writers for a ridiculous screenplay, editing for any editing, and the list goes on. I knew after the first 5 minutes that sitting through this was going to be Torture. The dialogue was moronic, the characters were all riddled with stereotypes, Ryan Francis, the lead? Was like watching a Terrified 10 year old in their first school play, his cringe factor going through the roof. It was beyond uncomfortable to see and hear. One spoke with a ghetto accent and mentality. Another course wore a cross outside his shirt. Our lead had zero personality and a bad haircut. The bad guy was no Lawrence Oliver (Marathon Man).

I couldn't recommend watching this unless you are a masochist, a teen, or in a stupor. It was so horrible that I took the time to vent here rather than waste an hour with a psychiatrist.

Terrifier 2
(2022)

15 minutes in I wanted out
The film is horror, gore, violence, some very good acting talent. The special effects CGI or Practical were brilliant. Disgusting and brilliant.

Now to the Director. So many disconnects in each scene. Each character has a Flight or Freeze reaction. Seeing a friend or family member being slaughtered and they are filmed staring, gazing in fear with these takes lasting way too long.

The Children were much better character actors than adults. The men appeared to be buffoons and the women, oh, what can I say. Every woman cast as an authority figure, teacher, parent, School staff were depicted as angry, uptight, imbalanced, irritating Shrews. Someone has a very negative view of women.

Then the time. Well Over 2 hours it seemed to be endless, I wanted to turn it off but couldn't. The film is unique with some twisted imagery. Some inconsistencies. Some victims were still screaming and alive after being butchered alive, chopped up, skinned, plus more. Some got up afterwards. Some had minimal blood or wounds after being bloody.

I can't say do or don't see it. Just don't expect any coherence or statement.

Escape the Field
(2022)

The Longest Sunday
I have to say that I am impressed how the production created the ability to alter my conception of time. Woke, had coffee, walked the doggo started the film. The beginning showed promise and then there were twists I suppose but shouldn't there be something linear to divert from in order for a Twist to occur? This movie answers that question. This is a movie about twists. Each character was smarter and more creative than the next by noticing tbe unnoticeable and deciphering its meaning like they are actual clues. If you can handle 1+1=3 except when x, y, or Z happens.

I lost interest 20 mins in. Did stuff then returned to the movie. This is my 4th attempt. 4 sittings and all I see are confused, frightened, hungry, & thirsty people finding needles in haystacks one after the hour. I am now at the 01:04:52 mark. I feel that if I continue watching this I will die of either boredom or be pulled into a permanent wormhole and cease to exist.

How do you take an entire day to watch a movie, still have 40% to go and would rather do anything but find out if this has an ending beyond the first 20 mins.

Time is standing still. I truly believe if I don't watch till the end it will cause a shift in the fabric of existence. You are safe. I will man up, drink a pot of coffee and force myself to sit there and observe. If nothing else I will be paying off some Karmic debt to the universe.

Dare you to watch this in one sitting and rave about this master work of stuff & words.

Fresh Hell
(2021)

Worst Cringefest Yet
From the moment the players (actors?) Started popping up on the screen I knew I was in for a bad time. Overacting, hamming, scenery chewing was the backbone to an uninteresting story. Each individual was more over the top than the next.

Dialogue that is meaningless and just words to fill the time. Cursing, mania, sadness, all came together with the most annoying people possibly on the planet. I truly wanted to turn it off after five minutes however I stuck with it to see if there was anything redeeming. Nope, nothing. It didn't need a director, editor, soundman. It seemed sloppily put together that everyone seemed tortured to finish their roles. Throw in social justice speak; I'm checking my priveledge, I donated to BLM, Covid was still thought to be a deadly plague (sorry folks who insist it is still deadly) have destroyed any future for this piece of work. It didn't age well in 1 year. In a few years ago it will be a non horror story that was based on useless information and the worst acting I've seen in years. Be afraid of bordom and watching people try and act. Not one person was believable.

Dashcam
(2021)

Met my expectations
I have learned after decades of IMDB especially prior to Amazon's acquisition and destruction of: i.e. Whole Foods, WOOT, Etc. To weed out reviews containing; What did I just Watch?, Should Of rather than should Have, Time I'll never get back, I watched it so you don't have to, (my favorites) Contrived, Cliche, etc.

This movie was certainly watchable. It didn't cause boredom, it was paced such that I never checked my clock (you know those films that you check the time to see if the film is about to mercifully end any moment only to discover you are 5 minutes in), had no need to judge the acting or production due to not one moment of cringe.

I'm sure this was created to induce fun entertainment, a sense of the unknown, tell a story, and make any mark in the film industry and horror genre. To all the overly judgemental experts giving 1, 2, 3, 4 ratings let us see what you've got to offer.

To anyone accusing me of being a shill for the producers or anyone involved, let me assure you I have zero connection to any aspect of this film other than being responsible for Everything and Nothing since I am the creator of the universe so...

Pearl
(2022)

Bless You Ti West.
I was looking forward to this. I enjoyed X and love Melodrama, horror, some gore if done well (Dear Directors, Blood Isn't Translucent), suspense, Thrillers, psychological dramas, Dramedies, musical comedies, and musical horror slasher comedies.

This was all that and more. My first thought when Fin! Was "Mia Goth deserves an Oscar (even though I no longer view Awards shows). I predicted Marissa Tomei after viewing My Cousin Vinny.

As soon as possible I googled Mia Goth Oscars. It was many a headline.

She was Amazing. So many areas that need to be acknowledged as well Director, Sound Editor, Cinematography, Editing, Music Director, Mama was Amazing. All actors didn't disappoint.

This reminded of pieces of and atmosphere of the best films.

I experienced (not Literally) sudden recall of random films, directors, Cinematography. A Technicolor Nightmare. I Thought of Hitchcock, The Wizard of Oz, Silence of the Lambs, Bette Davis, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Orsen Welles, and Busby Berkley.

Beyond My Trivial Expectations Every once in a while a movie stands out as something "Wow, I've Never seen anything like this" it is in its own category.

I say Even if you hate horror, gore, you will be glad that you saw Pearl.

Barbarian
(2022)

Frightening via Suggestion perhaps
Maybe if I were ten I would have been scared. The acting was good, Director got lost in overproduction. So many times during the movie I thought 'the atmosphere and sound were outstanding' then the payoff and I'd see how that might be frightening but it wasn't frightening for me.

Story was interesting and I suppose the acting was sufficient since I didn't start checking the clock till way after midway mark. Once the plot began its final unfolding I was Left with consistently more questions than realizations.

I believe this was touted as one of the most frightening movies ever. I am no where near agreeing with that. Perhaps I shouldn't have watched what was the most nerve wracking movie I've seen in forever. 'Fall'. That blew my mind. This didn't. I'll give it another go.

Watched again. It was tolerable yet I realized I missed nothing and was left unsatisfied.

Orphan: First Kill
(2022)

Expected Very Little. Fell Short of Expectations
Expected Very Little. Fell Short of Expectations . I can't think of one aspect of this hot mess that had any redeeming qualities except for the Music perhaps. How many people did it take to make this? Director, Actors, production design, set design, screenplay, wardrobe, Cameraman, stunt coordinator, Stunt doubles, casting director, Editor, did I say Director already?

Every aspect was a fail. The camera angles, Dialogue, awkward acting made a preposterous, far fetched, cringe Promoting, unlikely, absurd, ridiculous, foolish, stupid, ludicrous, ,harebrained, asinine, inane, nonsensical, pointless, senseless, unreasonable, irrational, illogical, outrageous, unbelievable, incredible, unthinkable.

If there is a sequel to this abomination I will never consider attempting. This was Almost intolerable. It wasn't boring, slow at times. The implausible, inane content was mesmerizing to experience. A bit of tension in a few scenes but just way too ridiculous in all for it to matter. Most tension came from hoping the next scene would not be as bad as the previous one.

One star for Sound, one star for Music.

Assimilate
(2019)

Turn 20 minutes into 90.
The movie is clearly well produced, acted, directed but somehow I entered a time warp.

I was wondering how much more I was going to be here so checked time.

Thought I was halfway through but alas only 20 minutes passed.

I wasn't necessarily bored but I was not so involved to lose track of time. I was very aware of it throughout. The movie is Invasion of the Body Snatchers with the Snatching and invading part very clear from the start.

I saw the 50s version, 70s version and whatever decade the Nicole Kidman stinker was released. This was a different take on the story but didn't add any substance. It's a fun ride but I can't figure out why I found it to drag as it did.

This is one movie I feel like I saw before but it isn't a clear memory. Not sure if it is the trailer I'm thinking of or if the film was just that forgettable.

Jaws
(1975)

A Classic Revived for a new generation.
I saw this for the I lost count amount of time. Thought I'd take advantage of $3.00 movie day. Treated myself to the remastered 3D Labor day weekend showing. I was in awe at the quality of the depth created. Brilliant job. Water level at Eye level was brilliant. What an adventure. Still one of the best movies ever made.

I took some time to convince myself that this will seem like a new experience and my expectations were exceeded. The shark seemed to have more life.

If you get a chance to see this on the big screen I recommend it for pure enjoyment.

A day at the beach with no sand, sunburn, or shark bite. So much fun.

Only Murders in the Building
(2021)

Enjoyed Season 1
I started Season 2 after deciding I didn't lose all interest. This was a Killer of any interest I mustered up. Not only has the dialog and atmosphere become Maniacal not in a fun way. To top it off they hired Michael Rappaport. I cannot tolerate his rantings in real life or pretending to be acting. I'm done.

Everything Everywhere All at Once
(2022)

The long way home
I Almost gave up on this a few times. I don't know what my reaction would have been had I seen this in a theater.

Watching at home I had to do it in 3 sittings. It seemed that the only result the creators wanted was to make a movie that appeared profound.

I found it very visual and mostly tedious.

I made it through the end.

I was very surprised it all came together in the end. I couldn't tell you what it was about but I suppose it is all a personal experience.

Last Night in Soho
(2021)

Watched in 3 sittings to
Lost interest in first 15 mins. Began drifting. Stopped then came back to it hours later, watched next 15 mins and totally lost interest. Great visually but not enough for me to care.

Top Gun: Maverick
(2022)

Found no Fault. Pure enjoyment.
Haven't been to a theater in over 2 years. Visited a mall and decided it was time. TGM was fast paced, all characters were deep and likable. Cruz is mos def God of his Universe.

Prepare to go through all feelings. Except Cringe. Zero Cringe Film. Apolitical, Areligious, Zero Wokeness.

I laughed, giggled, lump in throat and watery eyes cried, felt Excitement, and anxious.

In my Top Five.

Outer Range
(2022)

Meandering and incomprehensible
This could have gone in so many directions which it did but after 8 episodes I have no clue what the point was. Not going to attempt to figure out what this all meant.

Great acting, cinematography, music. That's about it.

The Baby: The Possession
(2022)
Episode 8, Season 1

The End! I hope
Watched every episode. This finale wraps it up until it doesn't. Lost much interest at episode 2 but stuck through.

Entire series is a bunch of stuff happening with absolutely No Point that I can see other than ticking off some woke points and virtue signaling.

I believe there was a cast of characters but relate to none.

The Baby: The Curse
(2022)
Episode 7, Season 1

Watched it.
Rated it earlier. Each week I have to see if there is a result or another if I need to slap myself.

This could have been the final episode. Rather the plots will alter or die.

Episode 8 better bring another end or come up with something otherworldly and Blow my Mind.

Night Sky
(2022)

I Gave it my best.
I can watch Sissy Spacek read a book for hours and not complain. However a be with isn't what I tuned in for.

Lost all hope for continuing episode 6.

I just don't care what happens next.

Hacks: The Click
(2022)
Episode 6, Season 2

Glad I stuck with it.
A 97% Ideology Free epidode. It could have been the sunshine today but I found it hysterical. The Acting, directing, editing, and timing were all impeccable. Keep it up.

Candyman
(2021)

I gave it a chance
Opening credits and scene got my attention. Then the cringe wokeness took over. Sexuality, and race baiting became over bearing. Dialog was predictable and politically driven. I couldn't get past the 9 minute mark. Disappointed.

The Walking Dead
(2010)

Loved from season 1
Given that the past few seasons I had to suffer through boredom and fading interest due to melodrama and a Soapy feel I have lost complete interest.

Have zero need to see this till the end.

Perhaps my age is getting to me or the show really has become as inane and preposterous as I see it.
