1313: Bigfoot Island
(2012)

I would rather have food poisoning then watch this again.
Talk about a video with no redeeming value at all. All you get in this home video is several white boys with no shirts attempting to act very gay and sexy running through the forest with each killed by a man in a very cheap and baggy ape costume. The editor uses the same footage of certain shots over and over again. A young teenage girl prays to the forest spirit and that all she does over and over and over again. Oh God please strike me with blindness so I could never blight myself by watching this offering from Satan's outhouse again! Believe me folks you would rather be struck down with smallpox than view this flatulence from the bowels of the Antichrist himself. At the end there is an attempt at acting that could be better compared by two infants blowing spit bubbles and regurgitating on one another. Im not kidding folks, this video is that bad. In conclusion, this film was not as enjoyable as dinning on my newborns messy diaper.

One Fall
(2016)

I loved it!
Some of these critics are so full of themselves. If you want to sit down and enjoy a sweet and inspiring film, do yourself a favor and watch this some evening with no expectation and prejudgment and you will most likely fall in love with film as I have. Sure some of the story might be a little ambiguous in the beginning however it works for this film. It allows the wonderment we had as kids to surface and bloom like a flower in summertime. I was enchanted how the ability to heal was unfolded in the story line. I felt that this was a great first effort by Marcus Dean Fuller and hope to see more come down the road. I stand up and cheer.

Act of Valor
(2012)

The bad reviews are very unfair to the men who live this type story
It amazes me how warped many perceptions are when we go to see a film billed as using real military portraying realistic military black operations then give a review which harshly criticizes the acting. These reviewers are completely missing the point. Seals are trained not to show emotion and stay calm in hellish situations. You put an actor in these parts and they will give a great Hollywood performance with awesome range of emotion. This is a complete contradiction to what a real seal is. What the producers are promising are how real seals would react. You are not going to get high emotion with extreme reactions because real seals are trained to be cool and level headed. If you're looking for the traditional war movie you will not find it here with the real McCoy. We should celebrate this film and be grateful to see how it really is for these people in our special ops. I envy these men and their incredible ability to stare the extreme with calm, intelligence and extreme honor and bravery. I believe this film to be a testament to the best part of the American way and ideas. So when one criticizes the acting of this great American film, they are completely missing the point.

Waiting for Forever
(2010)

Very underrated!
I just watched Waiting for forever. I was really looking forward to this film as a Rachel Bilson fan. She was outstanding. I shed many tears through this movie. Perhaps that's why many are ragging on this film. Most films today that are truly heartfelt get the automatic thumbs down. Maybe because it is not cool or not full of mind numbing action. This film may lack the action packed shoot em up scenes but it makes it up by injecting the most heartfelt story line that you will remember for many days to come. It sticks with you. Do yourself a favor. Ignore the bad reviews. Please see and decide for yourself. You may find a real gem.

The Burnt House
(2009)

I am in awe of how truly bad a film could be.
First I must give credit to Adam Ahlbrandt who wore almost all the hats for the crew. Now let's talk about the film. It's all abstract shots, claustrophobic close ups, fade ups and downs to blacks between almost every shot, cut always to bloody screaming faces that's way over the top. A calendar of on screen written dates and locations. Mind numbing flashbacks that are all over the place and impossible to follow. When there is an actual scene with characters engaging in dialog it is mostly arguing and bickering with actors with little to no acting ability. Let me stop here for a second and have you imagine a ball of jumbled artsy shots with black between most cuts, no story to speak of which results in an on screen LSD trip that makes little sense. Oh my God! Please give me back those minutes of watching this train wreck of a film. Why does IMDb not offer the choice of selecting negative stars?

Land of the Lost
(2009)

Film of the Lost
Will Ferrell is a gifted actor/comedian however his latest offering " Land of the Lost " falls as flat as my sister pound cake after slamming the kitchen door. I thought a remake of my childhood Saturday morning TV show might be a cute idea and it was definitely marketed as a family movie however with the potty humor and the disjointed story line, I was left with anything but praise for this let down film. It's too bad because I really like Will Ferrell and this film does not flatter him. I have no desire to give any spoilers in this opinion so not to spoil the story for ones who actually might like this movie, however I hope this review might steer some away from the pain of sitting through this goose egg of a film. Forgive me Will for dissing your movie, I just have to be honest and hopefully prompt you to hit point on with your next film.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
(2008)

I was Shocked, Moved and Stunned!
Many here criticize this film because they use British accents. Remember this was shot in Budapest, Hungary with European crews just like many past American films that were shot in what Europeans would consider American accents of German world war two films. For ones who could not get past the British accents to appreciate and enjoy this film you might think they have their knickers just a wee little bit too tight, wouldn't you say? It's just a shame that many are missing the point of the movie anyways in which the basic premise of the film was an ironic moral of the story type film. Not based on any specific event, but was conveying a moral point in a tragic manner. I loved this movie and like many others was completely shocked, moved and stunned. A lesson for us all.

Overboard
(1987)

I love this film and can watch it every time it comes on!
This film has an extra special sweetness at it's heart that makes you care for the characters and what happens to them. It also has extra satisfying payoff's that makes us laugh and cry in the same breath. This is one of those films most can enjoy every time the watch it. Sure the film is modest, but very sincere and that is what makes it's delightfully fun to watch. Of coarse the characters are simple but extremely genuine and heart felt by the actors. It's obvious that everyone involved really cared for this project and it's contagious to the viewer. You can put this film in the "Enjoy it every time it comes on" category file. Another wards, I love this little film gem.

Howling: New Moon Rising
(1995)

Masterpiece!
This rises above all horror films in current history. The best of all time. I have never seen such a scary and suspenseful film as "The Howling: New Moon Rising". Clive Turner should have been recognized by the Motion Picture Academy and nominated for best picture. As a fellow film maker, I could only dream to make its equal. The acting was what could only be described as brilliant! Might be the best film ever made even passing up Citizen Kane! I want to start my own fan club in homage to this extraordinary motion picture.

Hail Mary, Hail Mary, Hail Mary. Oh holy Father. Now I have paid my penance for cheating on my wife.

Whew! That was painful.

Surviving Christmas
(2004)

The Pain, oh the pain!
I read some of the positive user comments on IMDb this weekend and decided to ignore the critics, throw caution to the wind and see this film. I would have had more fun and laughs getting a colonoscopy. Does the saying "to many Chiefs spoil the broth" ring true here? Four writers could not resurrect this D.O.A. Pre-Christmas turkey. I like Ben Affleck, so it was painful to see him playing this cardboard half dimensional character. Who's allowing you to see these scripts, Ben? Let me know, My 9 year old nephew has this school essay he would like to submit. I would tell you a little bit about the story however, I'm already suffering Post-Traumatic Stress from seeing this trash, so you can understand why I could not bare to relive this nightmare. Sure, I realize I'm being harsh; however, I'm just trying to balance out the other shamefully positive comments made in this forum. One (*) out of ten stars.

Exorcist: The Beginning
(2004)

Shameful!
I had tempered expectations for this film when I saw the first showing today. What a let down. The Producers of "Exorcist: The Beginning" should be ashamed of themselves. Renny Harlin does not have a clue as to the elements that made the original Exorcist" terrifying. Stifled one dimensional character's with the occasional gore shock, made this film about as annoying as a vagrant vomiting in the rose bush in your front yard. I hate writing reviews, however I felt compelled to warn people to save their hard earned cash on this piece of trash. The producers should be flogged and Harlin, should find his next job directing the news for the weather channel.

The Changeling
(1980)

One of the most chilling and spooky movies ever put on film! (spoiler)
(spoiler)

Yes! This is one of the most chilling and spooky movies ever put on film!

Unfortunately, many people after reading raving reviews on IMDB by sincere reviewers who compare The Changeling to such films as The Exorcist are often disappointed. The reason for this is misguided expectations.

The Exorcist is a masterpiece of soul disturbing shock and sheer visceral terror of an innocent little girl who is possessed by a malignant demon. The changeling, on the other hand is a magnum opus of the mysterious, macabre, and the eerie realm of the unknown. Each film a masterful achievement, however each of a very different type of horror film.

The Changeling is a well crafted and enigmatical story of a man who moves into an old gothic house after the tragic loss of his family. He is then confronted by a haunting from a malevolent ghost of a murdered child.

Atmospheric and chilling, this gem is best viewed when you're alone, when you're in the dark as the rain patters against your windows and the wind howls through the rafters, only then, while you are watching 'The Changeling', you must ask yourself, `are these ghostly sounds coming from my television, or the dark areas behind me?'

Lone Star State of Mind
(2002)

Enjoyable
I had no preconceived idea about this movie. I watched this movie and I was engaged from start to finish. I appreciated the smart dialogue and the fresh spin director David Semel put on what would normally be tired old stereotypes. I was so delighted with this film I logged on to IMDB to read more about it. I was surprised by the few unfair and harsh user comments, of course there are always a few that see the glass half empty, but for the most, the majority found this film as entertaining as I did.

How to Deal
(2003)

Mandy can't go wrong
I would love this movie no matter what. Mandy Moore is the star. In my eyes she can do no wrong.

Consider me a hopelessly devoted fan. Hope I don't break a finger rushing for my wallet for movie admission.
