It's probably cultural but I can't stand judge Judy as a British Australian. She is rude, has no empathy or understanding of poverty and always seems to look down on those who are struggling in life. This idea of just expecting that everyone has agency in their own life which can only come from a place of privilege. She, I can only guess, has never experienced any hardship and it shows.
Then you have judge rinder, who is the polar opposite. He is empathetic and recognises where those in front of him are coming from, he cares about backgrounds and life experiences and how they impact people. He passes his rulings with grace and empathy but always within the law. They are reasonable judgements and no one is spoken down to. Plus, he is funny in a way that Judy isn't to those outside of the USA. As I say, it's likely cultural but he is the judge of like to be in front of, the judge who would give you a fair hearing, regardless of your class or education, unlike judy who seems to treat those without her lick in life as vermin.
