Clarice: Ghosts of Highway 20
(2021)
Episode 2, Season 1

Boring episode
I liked the pilot MUCH better than the second. Militia episodes are inherently boring. They are always written with caricature type characters. Boilerplate Hollywood narrative. They are mind numbing stereotypes. If the next episode isn't better than this one, I don't think I'll be watching more.

Star Trek: The Next Generation
(1987)

Picard was a JERK!
He treated Worf like crap. He hated children. Why people rate this version of ST higher than TOS, Voyager and DS9 is the real mystery. People hated poor Wesley, but his mother was the MOST annoying person on the ship. The crew bullied Lt. Barclay. This was an awful show, filled with xenophobia. Awful! I give two stars - one for Worf, one for Data, who was more humane than the rest of the crew combined!

Charmed
(2018)

So much better than the original!
Firstly, this show actually has a plot beyond the demon of the week. The actors can actually ACT. It's not a T&A show where the "feminist" wannabes do nothing but expose their bodies in pole-dancer costumes. I loved Shannen Doherty, but when she left, the quality of the show went along with her. Rose McGowan was great, but Milano ruined the show for me. She couldn't even speak her lines with any kind of coherent flow (she's awful). Combs seemed sarcastic and angry all the time, her character being pretty flat, TBH.

The diversity on the new Charmed is refreshing. I absolutely LOVE Mel's character, and the fact that Macy is a tentative eldest child makes complete sense given her mysterious past. Maggie is a typical kid, who has to grow up quickly after her mother's death. The growth of these characters together shows the evolution of a sisterly bond that did have to grow from something not strong, to something unbreakable.

Harry, the white lighter, is also far more complex than a dude who bounces in and out of scene for answers to solve the problem from the nebulous elders. I love that the elders aren't a bunch of old goats living in the clouds, too, but are elder witches. In the first season, they are challenged by a different group of powerful witches who, unlike the elder witches, care about helping mankind with more than supernatural threats.

I was surprised at how good this show really is. I can only surmise that all the negative reviews are from either sycophants to the original cast, or that they are so immature that they cannot watch a very good show with an open mind. Their loss. Gone are the cheesy rhyming spells. Their latin spells are far more compelling. I am sure a gajillion haters will find my review unhelpful, but hopefully, people with an open mind will read it and give the show a chance. It more than deserves it.

Alyssa Milano Sex Tape
(2013)

Ugh!
Cute kid grew up to be hideous. This was stilted and the least funny thing I've ever seen. I realize most of Milano's career has been a joke, but not the comedy variety, more the "Oh gosh, how pathetic is this?" joke. She had no talent in the beginning of her career, and it has not miraculously appeared after all these years.

Star Trek: Discovery
(2017)

Whole new level of awful
This isn't even worthy of a bad SNL Star Trek parody. As far as I'm concerned, it's something else ripping off the Star Trek name. Awful. I was determined to give season one a chance, but it just kept getting worse and worse. Not wasting my time watching season 2, as I have no doubt the show will continue to deteriorate. Awful writing. Awful acting. Just all around terrible.

Hawthorne
(2009)

Ugh
Seriously, does anybody believe that a chief nursing officer has time for patients? In the real world, even the nurses have to make an appointment to see her.

Where is your budget headache Christina?

How many JCAHO issues do you have on your plate to resolve?

What sort of feathers are you pursuing for the nursing caps? Magnet? Speciality certifications? Anything???

In all the hospitals I've worked, I have NEVER seen the CNO on a first name basis with patients and families or even the staff beyond her circle of management nurses. If a family has a complaint, it goes to the patient care advocate, not the CNO. Sure, RN is the first in the list of alphabet soup behind her name, but you can bet your *** you'll find MBA in there too. CNO is not a "nurse" position, it is an executive position.

Ridiculous show and an insult to real nurses who get how it is in the real world.
