Chickamauga

I like the classic Partisan films, made in the 70´s in Jugoslavia. They brought us: Neretva, Sutjeska, Partizanska Escadrilla, Valter brani Sarajevo; all very fine movies. But with low budget, few equipment you can´t turn s*** into gold! And that´s the result: a Western-like war film, made on an afternoon with boring plot!

I like this movie because I´m a history buff and secondly my ancestors come from Transylvania. The characters in this movie are brilliant- Amza Pellea even matches the original Michael Petrascu. The only bad thing in the movie: the guns (Russian Mosin Nagant-Rifles) are not accurate. But!!! The are turned with new stocks and barrel bands into fine, ancient muskets. The marching scenes with thousands of Turcs and Romanians are excellent! Shame is, the movie is not very often seen on TV or at a blockbuster.

I watched this film some time ago, it´s full of bad special effects, bad actors, very, very bad equipment-the G.I.´s carry German G3 assault guns and italian Beretta submachine guns. There is almost no plot. The allied commandos want to destroy a german radio outpost in Normandy, they don´t find it. An old woman tells them where the base is, 5 minutes before the film ends. "Very credible!" Don´t watch this movie if you wanna be entertained! I had to watch it and warn you now not to spend a cent for lending this video!!!
