Because of 'Operation Red Sea', I am very much looking forward to this movie and have high expectations. But after reading it, I still had some disappointment, mainly due to the chaotic narrative and incorrect props for weapons and equipment. But it doesn't prevent this from being an excellent war movie.

The theme is very novel, making bold innovations and breakthroughs among numerous submarine themed films, presenting a thrilling deep-sea battle. The submarine scene is a masterpiece in visual presentation, with ultimate realism and shock. The movie finely and accurately reproduces the interior of the "Dragon Whale" submarine, and uses a series of long shots to showcase the internal structure, which is highly visually impactful, as if one were in a real submarine, experiencing the complex structure and tense atmosphere inside the submarine. In the scene of submarine warfare, the realistic restoration of the deep sea environment allows the thrilling plot to be vividly presented, filling the tense atmosphere. It's like being in a submarine command cabin, following the plot through the ups and downs of the deep sea, truly experiencing the thrilling deep-sea confrontation. The scene of torpedo warfare is even more exciting, with a fast-paced combat rhythm that is vividly simulated through special effects, bringing a strong visual impact.

The action scenes are also very grand, from intense gunfights on the drilling platform to underwater gunfights when the Jiaolong assault team dives into enemy submarines; The shocking rescue efforts to prevent nuclear explosions at the enemy's "Sun Base" and "Moon Base" were filled with tension and passion, reflecting the tense atmosphere of the battle. Moreover, there are also depictions of future weapons, such as the single soldier aircraft used during the rescue of the drilling platform at the beginning and the enemy's mechanical dog at the end, which bring a novel perspective. Especially in the final fight scene, the addition of "B-level film" elements makes the scene appear more violent and tense. The explosion effect is very realistic, and the tense atmosphere can be felt through the screen.

In contrast, the plot of the film appears slightly dull. Although the movie adopts a multi line parallel narrative structure, this narrative style increases the complexity and hierarchy of the story to a certain extent, allowing one to feel the tension and excitement of this deep-sea battle from different perspectives. The pace is somewhat slow, the plot is very simple, and there is basically no narrative in the early stages, which makes one feel tired. But the character descriptions in the movie are all commendable, adding a lot of color to the film.

Overall, this is a film with both advantages and disadvantages. It has certain highlights in narrative structure, character shaping, visual presentation, and thematic expression, but at the same time, there are also some shortcomings. As a sequel to Operation Red Sea, it has to some extent continued the style and quality of its predecessor, but has not achieved a qualitative breakthrough. In the future creation of military action films, directors and screenwriters should pay more attention to the rationality and logic of the story, avoiding excessive pursuit of visual effects and neglecting the quality of the story itself.

Chen Sicheng has finally let go of 'Southeast Asia'! I made this unusual movie, although it continues the essence of 'reversal and reversal', it's much better than what I've made before! I finally gave up taking on a lot of advertisements and filming too many deliberate comedy scenes in movies! However, this film is not just a simple suspense mystery film, it is more like a grand Chinese blood and sweat history!

Character creation is very fresh! Created a group of distinct and unforgettable characters. Qin Fu is the translator of Sherlock Holmes, and Ah Gui is actually a railway worker saved by Native Americans. He has a lot of imagination, but it is reasonable! In addition to these two main characters, supporting role also have distinctive personalities. Bai Zhenbang and Zheng Shiliang are like representatives of revolutionary youth at that time! And Fei Yanggu is like a representative of the decline of the late Qing Dynasty at that time, with a tragic ending.

At the same time, the plot layout is also very intricate and interconnected. Although there are 136 minutes in total, the plot is still tense and tight. The plot of the film is also full of twists and surprises. There are three major reversals in total! Whenever approaching the truth, an unexpected twist breaks all speculation and takes the story in a whole new direction. In the process of advancing the plot, the director cleverly used multiple subplots to enrich the layers and thickness of the story. In addition, the comedic plot is also a major highlight of the movie. This time, there was no deliberate use of vulgar comedy techniques, but rather some dramatic means.

At the same time, the film also deeply criticized the social reality of that time. In 1900, China was in the abyss of a semi colonial and semi feudal society, with sharp social contradictions and people living in hardship. The film reveals the darkness and decay of society at that time by depicting various social phenomena such as corruption in the officialdom, invasion by foreign powers, and the widening gap between the rich and the poor. In addition, the film also explores the relationship between history and destiny. In that turbulent era, an individual's fate was often influenced by the currents of history. The protagonists in the film are not only investigating cases, but also for the safety of Chinese Americans in the United States. Although they strive to pursue justice and truth, their fate is always closely linked to the fate of their country and nation. Their choices and efforts in the face of historical difficulties deeply reflect the weight of history and the insignificance of personal destiny. This kind of contemplation on history and destiny further elevates the theme of the film.

Overall, this movie has set a new and good example for domestic suspense films. Making suspense films doesn't necessarily have to be on a large scale, nor does it necessarily have to be directed to Southeast Asia.
  • The excellence of the previous film 'Ne Zha: The Birth of the Demon Child' has already filled my expectations. I didn't expect this sequel to live up to expectations. Not only did it achieve comprehensive upgrades in visual effects and character development, but it also brought new shock and emotion to the audience in the deep exploration of the plot and theme, once again proving the unlimited potential of domestic animation. After reading it, it still exceeded expectations by too much! It's a complete blow to the dimensionality reduction of certain Chinese comics! Let's talk about the only drawback first, the initial humor was a bit vulgar. However, the flaws do not overshadow the virtues, as everything else is almost perfect.

The visual effect is really stunning! It can be called a masterpiece! The movements are smooth and natural, and every detail is handled very well, as if you are in a real battlefield. The visuals are even more stunning, whether it's the magnificent underwater world or the ethereal Jade Void Palace. The special effects visuals are not only gorgeous, but also very realistic. The scene of thousands of troops fighting in the air pushes the visual effect to the extreme, and the majestic atmosphere is no less than that of Hollywood blockbusters. In addition, the texture of water in the special effects is the most precise and complex, and the shots of seawater are numerous and beautiful, delicate and natural. There are even close-up shots of water patterns and mist, including the effects of seawater washing different materials and the subtle differences in the traces left behind, all of which are presented.

The character images in the film are more full and three-dimensional compared to the first one, with each character having their own story and motivation, no longer a simple binary opposition of good and evil. Each character has distinct changes in personality. Increased the radiance and power of humanity.

The movie continues the passionate and fantastical style of its predecessor in terms of plot, but also boldly innovates and reconstructs on the basis of traditional mythology. The worldview of the film is more complete, the boundaries between humans, demons, monsters, and immortals are clearer, and there are both contradictions and blends between different races. The plot has multiple echoes with the first part, but it is not just a simple echo, but a sublimation based on the first part.

In terms of theme, the film continues the core proposition of "breaking prejudices" and expands to more complex social contradictions. The setting of the dragon clan being oppressed by the heavenly court due to their demon identity implies racial discrimination and class solidification in reality; Shen Gongbao's "rebellion" motivation has been further explored, highlighting the alienation of individuals by institutional biases. Even the dollar sign on the furnace satirizes some things. In addition, Nezha's transition from "defying the heavens and changing his destiny" to "protecting the people" explores the balance between individual heroism and collective interests.

The music and soundtrack of the film are equally impressive, adding a lot of color to the film. The perfect integration of music and soundtrack with the visuals and plot of the film not only adds more artistic charm to the film, but also better enhances the atmosphere of the film.

Overall, this is an excellent film that combines visuals, storytelling, and content. It not only showcases the strong power of Chinese animation after its rise, but also demonstrates the infinite possibilities of traditional Chinese mythology in the modern context.
