A Winter Getaway
(2021)

Another Hallmark Winner
The co stars have great chemistry. Grab a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy this new Hallmark romantic comedy. Set in Banff it makes you want to go on vacation yourself even if you hate the cold. Moral of this story is money is really nice, but is not the most important thing. My wife and I both enjoyed watching this one. I've seen many Hallmark movies and they keep surprising me. They never get old for me. Enjoy.

WATCH THIS SERIES
It makes me laugh and cry and has suspense, romance, family, coming of age, and so much more. My hats off to writers and actors and everyone involved in this production. WOW!!

Lost in Space
(2018)

Awesome
Don't listen to anyone who talks this series down. Watch it for yourself and you'll see how great it is. Great writing, action, drama, mystery, laughs (not forced kind), adventure, thriller, robots. People talk about plot holes -- use your imagination people. If they filled in all the holes it would be predictable and too slow. its would be like asking why the magic stops at midnight in Cinderella. As soon as you ask such a question you nullify the entire universe in which the author created. Just let yourself get into the story and stop thinking so much. I never understood how people who analyze every word and action have time to enjoy the film -- too busy analyzing it. Not everyone may like this series but whatever you do don't let someone else make your decision for you. Like in Stranger Things series it took me half the first season to get into it and then I loved it. If I'd given up to soon I'd have missed out on a Jem. Lost is Space has made me laugh out loud while several other episodes I have actually found myself in tears. That is good writing and acting. I'm not easily moved, but I really got into the characters and Dr Smith though not my favorite is done so well in this series. Usually I have a fave character but in this one I love them all. Judy, Penny, Will, Don, John and Maureen and of course the robot and Dr. Smith.

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker
(2019)

Many Great Surprises 9/10
I loved it. I was a teenager in 1977 when the first movie came out. I remember one theatre that ran the film for an entire year. I can't say enough good about this movie. Never drags and even if you have not seen the other movies you can follow it. It makes you want to see the other films again. I've seen all the films and I was surprised over and over in a good way. I didn't foresee anything, but I must say I don't watch trailers I like to be surprised and see it all for first time when I go. Too many trailers or reviews ahead of time ruins it for me. I like deciding for myself and not letting others decide for me ahead of time. Great writing and acting. Don't let all bad reviews decide for you. I disagree whole hearted and I'm a syfy guru. Again I say Watch this movie and enjoy the ride of a lifetime. This is what teens of all generations wait for. They will remember this 40 years from now with great fondness.

Charlie's Angels
(2019)

Wonderfully written and acted -- watch this one
It made me laugh because it was so well written. I was actually surprised several times and the flow was perfect. The cast was also amazing and worked so well together. I felt the emotion and action was top notch. Hope they keep this series going like Mission Impossible films. This cast has what it takes.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
(2019)

Epic sequel to first film 9/10
You will not be disappointed. If you like the first one you'll like this one just as much. Made for the big screen and so well written. You can tell when something is written well. Not everything is predictable and you may even gasp. Then you know you have entered the realm of fantasy which movies are made for. Those who seek reality should go elsewhere. Only those with imagination and love cinematic magic can enjoy such creative and interesting characters. It has it all; romance, thrills, suspense, drama, it makes you laugh at times while never becoming silly. You fall in love with the characters and feel what they feel. All who wish a journey into another world of danger and love and exhilaration need only buy a ticket and set back and be entertained. Don't listen to critics go see for yourself.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
(2018)

Drama Fantasy Adventure
I would rate this PG due to fighting scenes. This film with its all-star cast is not your typical happy Christmas movie but a drama fantasy adventure - coming of age. It deals with things like legacy, bravery, confidence and biblical conviction and grieving. Clara pursues the key to open her mother's gift and to find the meaning of her note. As in the real-world truth can be elusive not because its hiding, but because lies and falsehood are vying for credence at every turn and distract us if we are not careful.

Clara nearly gives in to doubt and discouragement but remembers her mother's parting note - the four realms adventure helps her realize her mother's legacy. Her mom was telling her she had within her the Holy Spirit and the things they had already taught her - all she needed to face the world and the be the person she's meant to be. Though God is never mentioned in the movie similar to the Chronicles of Narnia and the book of Esther the influence of God is implied. You can only miss the true message if you desire to. Its easy to spin things to your own evil purposes like the media and sales people do to get people to buy what they don't need and watch made-up sensationalized news shows otherwise no one would watch and their ratings would go down because truth is often boring and downright hard to swallow like medicine.

The film is essentially asking us all - how will you choose to live? What legacy will you leave your children. We all have a sphere of influence for good or bad. Will you throw your kids to the wolves to influence for selfish lazy & false motives or teach them absolute truth against which there is no law. To live life their way or God's way. Evil would like objective truth to fade from existence, but it never shall as shown in this fantasy film. We are shown how circumstances and surroundings are out of our control while we are growing up. Spoiler alert: Sugar plum is the turn coat -- seemingly innocent and kind and asking Clara for help, but when opportunity knocks, she seizes the opportunity to overthrow the other 3 realms. Earlier in the film she complains of the so-called dangerous and rebellious Ginger Mother who in reality was the only realm who knew who posed the true danger. As in real life danger can come in all kinds of packages with fine sounding arguments. Their ignorance and inability to discern the truth almost cost everyone their freedom. We see how important it is to protect our young and show them the correct path and not leave to society or their teachers to learn morals and ethics. It is the parent's responsibility before a righteous God. Why would anyone trust our precious children to strangers on how to live and what to believe? The prophets of old lost their lives to bring the biblical message to all mankind. Evil rarely looks evil on the outside, but is insidious striking when we are most vulnerable, and at our weaknesses. Sugar Plum could have also chosen good, but had given her heart over to darkness and despite the truth offered her could not accept it when the moment of truth came and she as the move portrayed suffered the consequences for her actions -- which is as it should be. Good offered her a chance (as it always does) to change and she would not.

Clara gradually gains an understanding of who she is enabling her to fulfil her unforeseen role --reminiscent of what life does to all of us. The film draws you into her character and somehow your own story as you watch it. Clara must overcome her doubts and anxiety and trust her God given gifts and strength by faith. It's wonderful how they tie in reliance on friends and trust and loyalty. This film does a great job of dealing with grief and how it can keep us off balance if we don't remember who we are in Christ and what our parents taught us - the implication being good biblical character since we are in the Christmas genre. It brings out how difficult and disorienting death can be in a family and how we must be patient and understanding while helping other family members cope with the loss as well. It depicts clearly how working together & fighting for right is good and worth the effort in the end when our cause is just though the way may be hard to discern and navigate. It's the old adage 'evil prospers when good people do nothing'. God forces us to face life head on and to ask the hard questions and seek for answers until we find them. We ignore God (truth) to our own demise as depicted in the film.

Finally recognizing her mother's desire was for her to embrace life to the fullest Clara realizes that means making tough choices and fighting for right. Sometimes a peaceful solution is not on the table. And that she is free to remember the past while always striving forward to be the person God made her to be. She doesn't allow herself to be paralyzed by grief, evil, and the complexities of life. She sees her mother's legacy of mercy, unconditional love, patience, loyalty, kindness, bravery, duty, and family. Spoiler alert: toward the end Clara realizes she had misjudged her father. He simply grieved differently at the loss of his wife (her mother) than she did. Not less, just differently. This is a splendid adventure with a moving theme for all ages. It forces the viewer to think which is why I recommend this one whether you've experienced a death in the family or not. Enjoy! Some may ask why the 7 rating with such positive comments, but when you've seen thousands of movies you realize everyone sees things differently and you must leave room for the 8s 9s and 10s.

Wow
I rarely give 10 ratings, but I really liked this movie. To give a movie a 10 I must have an emotional response and I did. I actually got mad several times at various characters. I felt the loss of the mother and dedication of the Captain. I won't spoil it for you -- must see!

Anne: The Growing Good of the World

That Girl: Anatomy of a Blunder
(1966)
Episode 5, Season 1

Ann drives a clutch
What I enjoyed about this episode was their communication as a new couple -- they demonstrate how difficult it can be. LOL Also Ann didn't know how to drive a clutch. Also in my age of cell phones it was interesting to see them get stuck in the mud on a remote road and have no way to call for help. There were also references to Laurel and Hardy "another fine mess you've gotten me into" and "I wish I could take your pain" from John Wayne in the Flying Leather necks. It was a silly episode but funny I love how Ann talks and she is easy on the eyes.

Hope you enjoy it.

Sam helps deliver a horse while Jack and Ty are gone so they get help from an old lady they know -- Samantha (Lou) realizes how much she loves horses. Jack flirts with Lisa. Ty encourages Amy to get to know her dad who works at next ranch. I love when they show the family eating together around the table. Amy names the new born horse 'Daybreak' Mallory wants Ben to give her jumping lessons. Enjoy. Amy and Ty continue to come closer. She tells him his new hat from Jack looks good on him.

Well Amaya is gone and she is always welcome on the waverider. They finally figure out how to use the totems. Everyone comes back in this one. Damien Darhk redeems himself. You will not believe how they defeat Mallus. New romance, Aruba, Nora is back I'm so glad. I'm loving the new characters even though I miss the old. This a fun show with lots of plot and action and adventures - looking forward to next season. Constantine and Kid Flash Wally are great additions. Sara is my fave and Mick.

Zambesi 1992
This on has Damien Darhk working with the legends, Grodd, Obama, Lord of the Rings, and Amaya and Nate decide to screw the rules and save Amaya's people. Wally flat-out calls them out but rest of the team wind up going along with it so they can fight Mallus face to face. Chainsaw vs scalpel.

Legends of Tomorrow: Necromancing the Stone
(2018)
Episode 15, Season 3

10/10 Totem battle
Sara is seduced by death totem by Mallus and is strangely hot. You'll never guess who stops her. While the others have lots of experience they haven't gone to dark places like this character and come back. Ava was great in this episode I won't spoil it. Lots of character development and there always seems to be a point where I laugh out loud. Its not a stupid funny but well contructed and character based so many times u need to be caught up to understand why its funny. I'm still laughing about scene few ep back where Damien said when confronted with his younger self. "I'm going to kick my ass" too funny.

Legends of Tomorrow: Amazing Grace
(2018)
Episode 14, Season 3

Timeless
This show has so much potential like Timeless tv series this one just adds the superhero aspect. I agree racial tension seemed lacking but it was a church and not everyone was racist back then. I don't relate everything to our society and some hidden agenda. I like a good story with emotion and laughs and mystery and suspense etc. I think this show delivers that every week. Keep up the great work writers. I don't want to see my own society reflected in each episode I can see that on the news daily. This show and so many others are a respite from our stressful lives -- we don't want to add to it. This episode was very enjoyable. don't miss it. Death totem, there is a death in this one. Love Jiwe, Mick, and Sara.
