The Wall of Mexico
(2019)

Waste of time!
Not sure what this story is supposed to be other than a bunch of people who are not worth 10 cents! This movie is garbage, about garbage, surrounded by garbage!

Never Too Late
(2020)

I only gave it a 5, because...
I wanted to like the movie, Australian actors who had been tops at one stage, but... It just didn't have the comedy. Being manipulated, chased by a Vietnamese in Australia didn't appeal to me! One actor needs to disappear from TV and movies and that is Jacky Weaver! Can't stand her, never did! Yet she seems to snake her way into many shows!

The Secret: Dare to Dream
(2020)

Yes, maybe predictable, but...
Early on in the movie I guessed they would end up together. But at one point I wasn't sure and I thought if it didn't end the way I felt I would be disappointed that it built up towards my expected conclusion. Ok, for a nice change we don't have mad sex starved females climbing all over some guy like it seems more than half the movies and TV shows have that as a prerequisite! No car chases, no blood, no guns, a movie a family can watch together When my kids were little, 3 girls and a boy who came a bit later, I used to look for a movie we could all watch on a Friday night, them on the floor in sleeping bags and their mother and I on the couch. It seemed easy enough to find something we would all enjoy and I am glad they are now adults, because I don't see much family oriented movies anymore! I gave it a seven, it can even deserve a bit more. The whole cast of actors are pleasant. Cheers

Drive Me to the End
(2020)

I can't understand the low rating!
I am no spring chicken, for that matter more like an early winter chicken! But I found this movie entertaining, honest, amusing and really good! No, I am not associated with anyone involved! But I check ratings on here for most shows, I look at the 45+ and surprised at the low rating! What do you people expect? A sex romp, blood, action? Why does the viewing public lost the love of a good story, simple story? Anyway, it is certainly worth watching!

7500
(2019)

Low score due to mostly foreign language!
This could have been good, Joseph did a good with his part. But unless the average viewer speaks 4 languages, then it is unwatchable!I I speak, English, French, Italian, Arabic, Russian and Armenian, BUT NOT Turkish or German! The movie is noisy, whatever is spoken is done under duress which makes it even hard to understand the English parts! So, unless one can find subs for this, or speaks all the languages, then just forget it!

Lillian
(2019)

Really pointless...
Not sure what the start was, I assume something to do with Lillian, Russian language, no idea what was said and all of a sudden we are somewhere in USA. Not sure if Lillian has actually said a word, I was lost in the purpose of this movie. Since it has been decided that she vanished on her trek to Russia, how does anyone know other than one or two people in the movie, how does anyone know where she went or how she got there and over what period of time are we talking about here! Yeah maybe some "nice" scenery, various people going about their business, but the whole movie is pointless.

For the Weekend
(2020)

Comedy???
I didn't even smirk or smile! It's not a thriller either as nothing really happens. For a start, do ALL men think they look good unshaven? It's not a beard, it is just men looking like they haven't shaved for a few days, dirty, unkempt. Not a fan of beards which can be a menu of whatever they ate. But back to the movie: No reason given for Margot keeping her door locked. Abby inviting herself and then inviting Joe to join in the hot tub, and stay the night? If I was with a group of friends, I would voice my objection. Meant to be friends weekend not free for all. Who would be stupid enough to believe a Neighborhood Watch when there is no one for 10 miles and not call the police?

Stupid movie, waste of time, even in isolation!

Time Apart
(2020)

I was hoping for something like "In Time"
This could have been a good movie, the idea was good, but as the movie progressed there was no sense being made. For a start, when Seb reappears, he doesn't ask the questions, he doesn't behave as someone who lost a year. His girlfriend Nina, doesn't ask where he was, how did he feel, what was it like to skip a year. We gather 2 years passed, but then as the viewer we have no idea whether this went for 2 years, 5 years or 10 years! The Police reaction is not what would really happen in reality. Then, Nina is walking and talking to Jake, no idea how much time has passed, no idea what happened to Seb and it just ends there! The writer had no idea how to end his story and the viewer is left wondering if this was a long TV episode and some answers will be revealed in next week's episode! Waste of tim, stay apart for this movie!

Altered Carbon
(2018)

Nope, Lead actor is rubbish!
Really liked the first season, then you change the lead actor to this guy and I'm done! You wanna be all inclusive and start messing with a formula, then you will lose viewers! I think I'll go and watch old reruns of Home Improvements! It will be an improvement on this garbage!

The Way Back
(2020)

Good movie!!!
I am sorry that it will not make a lot of money for the team involved, but not because it doesn't deserve it, but because of this Covid-19 virus, which limits attendance IF a cinema is even open, as happening in many parts of the world. Affleck did a very good job, I wish they showed us more, added a bit more to the end of the movie, but won't spoil it.

The Death of Dick Long
(2019)

Not sure what to make of it....
I thought it may have been something like "Weekend at Bernie's" But it turned out completely different. I can't where the "comedy" description comes from, more like a "Deliverance"... I am also a bit shocked at the two female officers. I do't know how they could even make it into the Force. The acting is pretty good overall, the main actors really look and act as born hillbillies. The expression of shock and disbelief on Lydia's (Virginia Newcomb's) face is super. I don't know whether to recommend or say stay away. It has re-enforced my dislike

Queen & Slim
(2019)

All too real in US even now, still...
....As an Australian, I was, am still deeply upset by the shooting of Justine Damond by Police Officer Noor, when she was obviously unarmed and seeking help. And that Police mentality is still going strong, shoot first, ask questions after, and not just Black people, but anyone and everyone.

The movie has decent sound tracks, I am not a fan, but they were good, the acting is pretty good. Altho I wished for a better outcome.

But as far as African/American, when will they find peace, equality in treatment? I think, threats don't work, militarily or civilly. You can get more with honey. This movie, fictitious it may be, highlights a struggle which has been going on for decades. Police training is inadequate as far as I am concerned. That includes Australian Police as well. Too many incidents which took lives that could have been handled better.

The Castle
(1997)

A funny, but grest movie!
"A consequence of Australia's system is if Daryl Kerrigan in "The Castle" had been fighting a State and not the Commonwealth to get his property protected, he would have lost, and that's because the States have no requirement to give compensation.

"It's only the Commonwealth that he could have successfully sued in the High Court." Governments across the country are compulsorily acquiring properties to make way for massive infrastructure projects.

Richard Jewell
(2019)

Clint does it again!
Thank God for Clint Eastwood and directors like him, who bring to us movies with depth, with meaning, entertaining, where we get right into it. This movie has brought up many emotions in me, sorrow, pride, anger as well.... When one wants to believe in Justice, Truth and thinking if we do what is right, then we can do no wrong, until some powerful force, like the FBI just wants to pin it on anyone, not find the real perpetrators, just find a scapegoat, as they have done many times and yet still seem to have Carte Blanche. As for the Media, well, we are now questioning everything they say, they DO NOT report facts, they make them up for a story... Enough said..

You won''t be disappointed if you watch this movie.

The Good Witch's Destiny
(2013)

Things go wrong ....
For some reason things go wrong in perfect middleton. But other things don't seem right , nothing to do with bad luck . Brandon is 19 and marrying Tara who looks and is older , like 27. I can't see that as a match .

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot
(2019)

Load of RUBBISH!
I saw the big names, thought it would have been good. Can't understand why these big stars even lend their names to this crass load of rubbish! Don't waste your time! There is NOTHING redeemable about the whole thing, not the story, not the acting, not the cinematography...

Abigail
(2019)

Only poster is colourful...
... Rest of the movie is darkish, dialogue incomprehensible, not worth wasting time on this!

Dubbed movies should never make the light of day, keep it in the original language and provide subtitles in required language.

I grew up with two language subs, NOT dubbed movies, they just don't work.

Code 8
(2019)

Too short...
The movie itself was reasonable for action, story etc, but the start "event story" was rushed too fast, making it it hard to follow the premise of the movie/story. Secondly, with only 1 hour 25 minutes of movie and a whopping 10 minutes of credits at the end was a bit unfinished. It needed to be another 30 minutes longer.... Unless this is a pilot for a possible series.

A Rainy Day in New York
(2019)

Typical Woody Allen
You may or may not like him, but his movies are entertaining, they are not whizz bang, or shocking, but they are intelligent. The story is interesting, the acting good, he picks his actors pretty well. I will always give a Woody Allen movie a chance, not go by reviews.

The Shannara Chronicles
(2016)

I came into it halfway in season one////
.... liked it a lot. Hospitals for the following couple of years set me back in the viewing. Finally caught up. I had no idea it was MTV, wondering what's with all the songs! But as usual, MTV stuffs it up by cancelling after season 2! Worse part was that at the end, Will is alive and it is to be continued! I despise MTV, same as CTV, 2 companies which should be dismantled and obliterated!

Anya
(2019)

Interesting sci fi.
OK, so it wasn't real, there are no such people who cannot reproduce! I mean, if they can't where did THEY come from? But it was an interesting enough movie, story, a fairy tale in some ways, but with people, an actual location. Yeah, was not a kid's movie, but it still "entertained" me. Different for sure. Hard to say who would like it or not, I could compare it something like Avatar, a people who may disappear. It's by no means as grand as Avatar, not in the slightest, however makes one think if there are any people who have or will disappear...

UP There
(2019)

May be fiction, but...
It's possibly a sad reality that many Americans, who lost family or friends to a senseless act, a mass shooting, random... As the line is uttered: "I met this girl and 10 years ago her parents and three best friends were killed in a shooting, right. And then..."

"Why would that interest me? Why do I care about a story that happens every week in America? We've all been shot at. Most people don't know it because they haven't been hit."

I'm an Australian, with family and friends in US and every couple of days I hear of a shooting at a school, a church, a shopping centre, a car park... I am saddened, but it seems to be desensitizing Americans, it's becoming the norm

This movie shows, even if fictitious, what it can do to surviving family... I think it was a good movie, good story, good acting, deserve my 8 stars! And I can understand the 10 star rating by some as it may hit home even more for them! The low rating comes from reviewers who may not "feel" much anymore.....

The Refuge
(2019)

One hour of driving....
This movie is like viewing my car cam recording but camera mounted in back seat!! The main character's dialogue is 3 lines, has one expression. Utter garbage, waste of electricity let alone viewer's time. can't waste my time writing any more.

Kill Chain
(2019)

Start, back, forward???
I am not sure what I watched and who is with who, who is trying to kill who! I feel as tho I came into the middle of a movie and stopped watching before the end! No idea where we are apart from a lot of Spanish spoken, but it's not Mexico.... Not sure the relationship of the characters, who sent who? Who is paying who? I hate movies that start somewhere, then go back in time, makes me feel the writer forgot something and rather than restart the story, he/she ads it in halfway thru the first half hour! Seems there are a lot of movies and TV shows adopting this back and forth stupidity like it's a new fashion of telling stories! Nic better start reading scripts and turning some bad down!
