Hannah Montana: The Movie
(2009)

I Enjoyed it!
OK first of all lets get the hate out of the way. There are far too many jealous people out there that have given this movie a bad review/low rating for the simple fact that they are jealous of a young girl whom they do not know. Jealous because she is living her dream and doing it successfully and have a BLAST doing it while they sulk in their own pathetic lives. Get over yourselves and try to be positive for once.

Most of all the negative ratings/reviews need to be removed because they make no sense whatsoever. Just reviews and ratings by jealous little girls and boys who have sad, miserable lives.

Anyway, I saw this movie for what it was: Inspiration. I found the acting to be right on par for the type of movie this is and was sweetly surprised at some of the performances from Miley Cyrus as well as the supporting cast. I'll be honest in saying that at the start of the movie I was thinking it was going to be just like the TV show which is funny and simple. Well I was wrong in the best way.

After the "hoo-haw" at the beginning, I was very pleased to see that they were taking it back "home" to Tennessee to live the country life again for a little while. I found that small town, country charm worked very well with this production and some of the scenes were downright hilarious.

I don't know how other people rate their movies. Some base it on pure hatred and no intelligence. Others will rate a movie on acting alone or special effects or how loud it is. I rate a movie by how it makes me feel and at the end of this particular movie, I felt very warm and pleased. I was almost in tears. The ending of this movie is quite charming. I hope they make another one.

I loved it.

The Dark Knight
(2008)

It wasn't as good people made it out to be.
It seems that hype really does work for the masses. They easily succumb to what larger, more powerful entities want them to like. It's shocking and scary, really. This movie, in my opinion, and it is mine and I do not care what anyone has to say, is a perfect example.

I enjoyed this movie. It wasn't bad but it definitely was not great. I liked the pace of the movie and some of the acting is OK. I did not like the joker character, though. The joker was quite boring and not flamboyant enough. The dude that played the joker did an OK job but the writing for it really fell below the waterline and I felt that the script was boring and uninspired. This was more of an eye candy movie.

Christian as Batman still bums me out. He is simply not a good choice for Batman nor is he a good choice for Bruce Wayne. It just does not feel correct.

Unfortunately for this movie, my favorite scene(s) involved that beautiful Murcielago with the painted six piston calipers. That was the most beautiful thing in this movie. It broke my heart to see it smashed. I couldn't help but feel that this movie minus the costumes could have been named Die Hard 5. It had that same momentum and feel.

It was still a good movie. It was just not a GREAT movie.

College
(2008)

I liked it! Screw all the mindless haters
I cannot believe all the negative ratings for this movie. You people seriously need to lighten up or perhaps light something up. I am sure glad that I do not have such a mundane life that I NEED to live vicariously through Oscar winning movies in hopes that my loneliness subsides. Yay me. :) I happened to like this movie. It's not the funniest movie in the world nor does it have the best acting. It does have moments that got me laughing out loud and despite what some people are saying, it's not that raunchy. In my opinion, it's quite tame. That goes to show me that many people have not seen lots of movies and that they have hearts filled with hate, sorrow, worry, despair, etc. You name it and they've got it. It is similar to Superbad in a variety of ways but once the movies starts going, the similarities end. That also shows me that people are too quick to judge. Most of these people that have given bad ratings probably didn't watch the movie but are basing their opinions form watching trailers. See the problem with this kind of rating system is that honesty is often shot out the door in favor of elitism or ignorance or plain old hate.

"Look at me, I'm cool because I'm writing about something that offended me so much that I had to anonymously write about it on an internet movie database." OK, Sheldon. You rock on with your big theory.

I enjoy things for what they are and not for what expectations I have. I would never treat a person like this especially not a woman so why the hell would I do so for a movie? It makes no sense. If a movie does not appeal to me, I would explain why and I would also explain what I did like about it if there were any parts. I would then explain that I did not care for the movie because that is what I feel and that everyone is different. Everyone has different lives and different visions and different ideas of how things are and should be. I give this movie 8 out of 10 as I do not care :D It will make me smile to see a pathetic response from a pathetic person. Really, This is IMDb. This is not imanupitesissy.com.

The Happening
(2008)

Completely Disappointed - An Insult to Intelligence
This is the first time I'm ever giving a 1 out of 10. I think :p I see other people's comments regarding this movie and it is pretty much spot on. There are a few people defending this movie but they fail to defend it well. They speak of "The message" behind this movie. What message? Are you kidding me? Save the world? Give me a break. Global Warming is a joke. The earth is cooling and the ice caps are getting larger and thicker. Look it up. Don't be subjected to the Hitler Clause: If it's said enough times then people will believe it.

It is a no-brainer that fun, stupid and silly movies sell. They bring about laughter and that is the BEST emotion. Films like Zohan make it big because people LOVE to laugh. I recently watched Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay and I absolutely adored it. It was stupid, silly but GREAT fun. The Happening however, is absurd. It's stupid and silly in a completely different way: It insulted me. It insulted my intelligence.

You see The Sixth Sense, which is by far one of my favorite movies of all time, was made by a man who created not only a work of art, but a puzzle piece of which the viewer needed to pay full attention to or he or she would be lost and would not get the point of the movie. After coming out of that movie, I heard so many people saying "I don't get it". I didn't get THAT. NOW I do. Let's face it, most people do not have the kind of intelligence quotient required for the kind of movies that Shyamalan is capable of. IT SEEMS that either he's lost his edge or he's changed his ways and DUMBED his movies down in an attempt to appeal to "the masses". If that is the case, it sure did not work.

The story line is awful. The idea of what "happens" in this movie is ridiculous and even if he was attempting a "message" within this movie, it fails miserably. EVERYBODY knows....what we do to OUR environments. We are all WELL aware however, we are not children and we shouldn't have to be subjected to be subjected to being assumed that we all are . If I sum this movie up it would be this: "The trees and grass will kill us because we're killing them".

That sounds like something a child would say. Is it an impossible situation? No. It IS plausible however improbable. Plant life does not adapt en-mass to kill. It adapts to survive. They become resilient to anything that is thrown at them. The Chernobyl incident is a prime example. 20 Years after that accident, life is sprawling there. Trees and other plant life have taken over and have begun to break down all that man has built there. Even more surprisingly, animal life has INCREASED since that accident. The Plant kingdom does not NEED To (lol) kill all humans and even that is severely flawed. Any biologist would tell you that the premise of this movie is beyond silly.

I grant that this is a fictional tale however, fiction should at least be entertaining. I was completely bored with this movie and it was quite predictable.

Please go back to making intelligent movies, mister Shymalan and if not, at least start making FUNNY dumb movies. I'm sure you could do very, very well making a movie along the likes of "Scary Movie". Who knows, you might be the master at it.

Nim's Island
(2008)

If you think like an adult then you are missing the point of this movie
It's a shame really. It's a shame that so many people have forgotten what it is to be a child. They have forgotten what it means to go on a fantastic journey their minds. Being a child means that you create things in your mind that adults simply do not. Why do they not do this? is it because it's not "accepted"? Is it because they are too busy worrying about bills and paychecks, gas prices and the economy, elections and political correctness? Most likely. I think if everyone just remembered their childhood for a bit and watched this movie as it if were geared for YOU when you were a child, that you will absolutely adore this movie. I know I did.

It is not so fantastic like Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium or does not have the sense of journey and discovery that The Goonies did way back in the 80's but it has something else. It has an island all to yourself and who didn't want their own island as a kid? Who didn't dream of living in such a way? The cast was great especially Abigail Breslin. She does a very good job of being a little girl on an island of which she's lived on for a while. The animals who they call their pets are adorable and the storyline is very cute. Someone mentioned that Jody's character seemed forced. Did that person read the book? Probably not. Probably not indeed. I think she did a great job.

I think this movie is excellent and I highly recommend it to ANYONE that has not forgotten their childhood. Once you forget that, you lose so much of your humanity that really, what's the point in living?

College Road Trip
(2008)

Not the best but not bad
I watched this movie because I like to watch Martin Lawrence movies.

This is a family movie. There is no swearing, there is no violence, etc. It's the way family movies should be. The storyline isn't the best nor is the musical score or acting however, it is not as bad as others deem it to be. I think too many people expect to be entertained by movies as if it was the first time being on a roller coaster. Those types of movies are jewels and should be praised as such however, these types of movies (college road trip) should not be condemned by seemingly heartless people who think they are experts in how movies should be. I often wonder if these people actually sit through and watch movies or just make bad comments because they don't like a particular actor. Oh well. I liked this movie.

Superhero Movie
(2008)

somewhat entertaining
Super Hero Movie brings to the table a parody of Spider Man with a few other superhero parodies involved.

The thing about this movie is that you absolutely must start watching it with the notion that it is going to be silly and stupid. With that aside, you can actually enjoy this movie. It will not bring you to tears like Spiderman does, it will not make you get up and cheer like how the original Superman movies did and it will not put you in a world of wonder as Batman did for me. If you are like me and I suspect that many people are, this movie will simply give you a few laughs and help you to relax at the end of your long day.

The parodied situations are classic and the actors did a good job of being silly and stupid in this movie. Leslie Neilson does a great job being his normal character and offers a few comical moments. A person that has a great and varied sense of humor will like this movie.

Flakes
(2007)

Cute and made me coo coo!
Who doesn't love cereal? I had no idea what this movie was about and being surrounded by the "culture", I thought it was yet another movie about pot-heads. I was wrong again! Pleasantly surprised, Flakes dove me into a world of cereal that I have never imagined. A cereal bar! How cool is that? I would love to go to one and have my favorite cereal and listen to gossip from the town's folk. I have to admit that I thought that the idea of a cereal bar was just crazy and could never exist however, upon researching it I've found that there ARE cereal bars! I have to go to one and it is because of this movie! The actors did a good job of portraying regular (and not so regular) people doing what they have to do in a world where everything is so flaky (yep, intended :p). We all experience people that are "fake" or "zoned out" or "uptight", etc. Movies are a reflection of the world and although many movies create improbable situations, the characters that are in them have their real-life counterparts in our everyday, real lives and all over the world. There were some messages in this movie that I got such as the corporate America killings of mom-and-pop shops, the need for people in a relationship to pay attention to one another, the must for more assistance to be given to other's in need, and that cereal is indeed a culture all it's own. I had no idea.

Flakes portrays a character that sells old and discontinued cereals to the cereal bar. That seems like a bit too much however, I do know that uncoated cereals can last for years and years without losing too much of their shelf-life. I personally would not try to eat such old cereal however, there are people that would and this movie caters to that. Bravo! I do have to admit, the part where Neal made that all chocolate concoction for the cussing customer made my mouth water! I paused it, made Coco Puffs and unpaused it!

Prairie Fever
(2008)

No feeling,
I just finished watching this movie and I can honestly say that as of now, this "western" is at the bottom of my list of movies that I've watched this year and the bottom of my list of westerns.

I commend them for trying a "different" approach at a western (or is this just a remake?) but it simply did nothing for me. I am a Sorbo fan however, I feel that this role simply did not allow him to act the way he'd like to act even IF he's kind of bland and generic. That's what makes him Sorbo! I'm glad that other users found that this movie was "the best western" they've ever seen. Everyone is different however, when I think of westerns, I think "Dirty Harry". I was thoroughly disappointed and felt that they could have done a lot better.

The Hottie & the Nottie
(2008)

I loved it!
OK lets be fair here. I bet that the MAJORITY of the bad reviews here came from people that have not watched this movie and/or have cold hearts. I happened to watch this movie with and open mind and guess what? I loved it! Sure this movie isn't Oscar material however, it's a fun, warm movie. The acting is OK and even Paris does a decent job. Her character is perfect for the role. The character of "June"(Lakin) was done well but I feel that they did go a little overboard with her "flaws". I know girls that have friends like that and it was pretty much on par with how they act. I'd be bitter and angry too! As for Joel Moore, I just couldn't stop thinking about "mmmm I HATE YOUR FACE!" and "How can they see me!??" from Grandma's Boy! Haha, I guess that's burned in my mind forever.

Anyway, This is a super cute movie and any decent-hearted person would appreciate it even if you do not like Paris Hilton which I personally do not like NOR dislike. She is quite pretty but MY GOODNESS did "June" turn out to be a gorgeous woman! Give it a chance!

Pucked
(2006)

Not bad
I am out of a job and currently have lots of time on my hands sooo. I've been watching many movies! I have just completed my viewing of "Pucked" and despite what other people say, it's not bad. There are so many people that are simply negative to begin with and really, they should not be reviewing movies. Only those that are objective can truly rate a movie. Every time you see a negative word about a movie, that shows that the person is negative to begin with.

Would you trust that review? I certainly wouldn't! Anyway, Pucked was not bad! Jon Bon Jovi did a decent job acting and the plot was typical however, made the movie interesting and sometimes funny. I knew this was by no means going to be an Oscar winning movie which is why I give it a good rating. I rate movies on how they are and NOT how they compare to other movies. I rate them on how they make me feel, how they entertain me, etc. Pucked did a very good job of doing that and I would recommend it to anyone that needs to watch a pretty good movie when you have a lot of time on your hands.

Untraceable
(2008)

Gripping!
I loved this movie! To be honest, I was not expecting much from this movie. In fact, I knew nothing about it when I started it. I was pleasantly surprised to watch a movie that filled my mind for once. The performances were great and in my opinion the plot was excellent The one thing I did notice about this movie is the incorrect technological aspect of this movie which I will not get too into but the fact that the killer is the super hacker of the century and that the domain name killwithme.com could not be shut down (hello ICANN!) and the fact that millions upon millions of viewers were simultaneously watching is completely inaccurate. This is however, a movie and movies can do whatever they want and I applaud them for trying.

I did enjoy the movie however, I wish it was longer with the story built up more and the killer revealed later.

Loaded
(2008)

Interesting!
To be honest, I had no idea what this movie was about when I started it. That's how I watch movies whenever possible. No preconception. I thought this was going to be a movie about stoners in the woods or something. I was wrong, kinda.

Loaded was kind of boring at first but once it started to get going it really hooked me. I know the feeling of being sucked into something dangerous where you feel helpless but to do things that you do not want to do.

Another user commented on how this movie was silly and implausible but I beg to differ. These kinds of things DO happen. I'm sorry but not everyone lives in a dream world where nothing bad can happen and crazy situations are "implausible". Really sorry but the reality of the WORLD is that they DO happen. The creator of this movie as well as the actors did a great job of portraying how things can just go bad and how people can make really bad choices. Sometimes things turn out good, sometimes they turn out bad and such is life.

I highly recommend this movie.
