Not as satisfying as promised After reading many reviews about the inspirational and philosophical plot of this film, I was not completely satisfied. Yes, it does feature a few philosophical quotes which I think were quite nice, but that does not make the film philosophical. The acting by Nicolas Cage is the same as in every other movie, the self-pitying has-been or run down character that I do get tired of seeing. I also believe a few scenes (which I will not mention so as to not spoil the story) destroy what could have been a nice film. Aside from criticism, the film was intelligent, but I fail to see how a film can be rated as spectacular simply because it contains a few smart lines.
