Breathtaking Hollywood horrors have never scared me, coming closer to a type of comedy, Japanese and Chinese horrors generally have a more visually haunting style. This movie was no exception.
A young Chinese girl living in Hong Kong is given the gift of sight through a cornea-transplant. We follows her rediscovery of the world, being unable to recognise a stapler until she touches it, being cut out of her blind community. However everything isn't quite right. She sees shadowy figures leading away the dead, and her mirror image is not her own. The movie builds steadily to a ferocious climax, and ends on a twist.
The cinematography is fantastic, and the music will make you jump. I cried twice during this movie and enjoyed it immensely. You will too.
10/10 - A must see!
