Ripley's Believe It or Not!
(1981)

Really great show!
With it's macabre opening sequence, music and Jack Palance, this show had the fright appeal of a Saturday matinée horror film but was also informative as well! Although sometimes a tad morbid with some of the topics covered (like, unusual food dishes or other non traditional curiosities), you'd remain glued to your television anyhow to watch it till the very end.

The show hit upon a number of various mythos which made for some rather fun and interesting trivia; One such example (although obscure), was regarding the legend of the Frankenstein monster; Near the ending of one episode, Mr. Palance "divulged" that in the frozen arctic (?? Can't fully recall; I only vaguely remember), "a twisted, blue colored, frozen body of a man was discovered...believe it...or not!!" Being a kid when this aired, i always thought that was cool! What kid wouldn't marvel at the prospect of the Frankenstein monster being real?? It was indeed fun television and a one of a kind program, with Mr. Palance's chilling deliveries making the experience bringing the effect of the show to 3 dimensional life. Great show! And Jack Palance, host extraordinaire, is one of the greats and is very much missed!

Death Scream
(1975)

Death Scream
I found this film to be very good, with some fairly gritty realism (for it's time anyway); Raul Julia has fun with his role and is very likable and heroic in his portrayal of the Brooklyn detective out to catch the killer. There are a number of cool action sequences (check for the bicycle chase scene with Raul peddling away on the bike), All in all made this an above average film which had potential (IMHO) to become a really good TV series. The premise for the film, borrowed from the true story of Kitty Genovese, murdered right near her apartment building as her neighbors looked and but offered no assistance is still quite haunting. I'm actually surprised Hollywood hasn't attempted a huge theatrical remake of the film.

A-List

An inside look at the business of show business!
Saw the film last night at the "Sundays in the City" film festival here in New York City and was blown away! The acting and directing was top notch and the plot was off the hook! It was simply enjoyable to watch! The celeb cameos are a hoot as well! The film covered a variety of topics within the entertainment business which I, as an actor (as well as anyone for that matter) can relate to. Damon Shalit (Lead actor) has spectacular charisma and really makes the character "Darren" his own, bringing him to three dimensional life. This film has the perfect combination of comedy and drama which makes it work very well for the entire cast and director! If possible, see it! You won't be at all disappointed!

House M.D.
(2004)

Dr. Greg House! Diagnosis: Sarcasm!
"HOUSE" is one of those shows which I originally didn't watch when it first aired. Recently, I began watching the show to simply pass the time and I was hooked! It has all the elements of a show which I find enjoyable, including some suspense, a little mystery and a whole lot of sarcasm (from Dr. House himself), but particularly the sarcasm! The character of Dr. Gregory House is totally 100% pure sarcasm! Actor Hugh Laurie plays this limping, pill popping character with pure realism and genius! In the face of adversity and uncertainty, Dr. House relies on his sarcastic wit and no-nonsense attitude (not to mention his medical expertise, young medical assistants and pain pills)to get him through his cases every week! The plots on each episode are equitable if not better than those on "ER" or "CSI" and is even more enhanced by the seriously comedic sarcasm displayed By Hugh Laurie's portrayal of Dr. House. As played by Laurie, Dr. House's interactions with his young medical assistants (costars Lisa Edelstein, Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer, Jennifer Morrison and Robert Sean Leonard), and weekly featured patients is pure art! The comedic banter is performed perfectly on cue and shamelessly entertaining. The show is somewhat reminiscent of "Trapper John, MD", but with even more sarcasm. Another show which had some of the same elements was the prematurely canceled "Third Watch", which I feel had some amazing moments of sarcastically comedic banter between the principal characters which I was seriously missing, until I found "House!" Also similar to "Third Watch" is the use of some cool music. Hopefully, this show will stay on long enough for us viewers to enjoy some decent entertainment. You'll laugh, enjoy some fine performances by the cast, (in particular, the brilliant acting of Huhgh Laurie), and plenty of laughs, keeping you grinning for at least the entire hour the show is on! Enjoy!

Return of the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman
(1987)

The return of Col. Steve Austin and Jaime Sommers!
I grew up watching The Six Million Dollar Man & thoroughly enjoyed every episode of the series, including special appearances Lee Majors made on other shows. Like many youngsters of the era, I spent much of my time in front of the magic box, watching and "re-watching" my favorite shows; But always, SMDM was by far my favorite of them all! For me as a kid, it was more than simply watching a guy (& later a girl) perform superhuman feats of speed and strength. Here were folks who, with all their incredible powers, still remained human, being careful to use them only when totally necessary. To me at the time, that was nearly to the point of being a 'mentor' in a sense, being responsible in using such power. (I even remember joining the SMDM fan club!! LOL!!) In the "return" film, it was great to see Steve again, running in slow motion, leaping, lifting heavy things, etc. (In fact, in one of the scenes, it seems to me that he just may have increased in strength a bit, flipping a car over...with it rolling over at least several times!!.) In any case, it was fantastic to see Lee Majors & Lindsey Wagner back at it again, doing all the bionic stuff. The film was cool. Great nostalgiac stuff here to watch. Funny thing is, to me, it would have made more sense to have Lee Majors,Jr. to portray Steve Austin's son! Now that would'a been great! All in all, a very entertaining film to watch; Particularly to a 'forever' SMDM fan! Long live the Six Million Dollar Man & the Bionic woman!

Billy's Choice
(2004)

Billy's Choice
"Billy's choice" is an extremely entertaining short film, highlighted with varying scenes of comedy, drama, excitement and suspense. This short, starring relative new comer Carlos E. Pardo and written by Solomon Chertok (& Carlos E. Pardo as well), is indeed a fascinating, humorous & satirical look at one man's dilemma when having to deal with multiple love interests, particularly when they all find out about each other & then proceed to confront the wannabe gigolo! You'll laugh, think, enjoy yourself immensely (& did I mention laugh) upon viewing Billy's Choice!! Carlos Pardos's scene stealing performances are reminiscent of vintage Woody Allen at his finest!! Writer Chertok clearly outdoes himself with this amusing, intellectually stimulating piece of work! These writers (coupled with writer/actor Pardos' performing talent)will again score a hit with future projects in the works!! I look forward to more of their work!

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
(1999)

Performed featured background work on 11/16/04 episode
Aside from NBC's other tremendous hit show "Third Watch", I also enjoy Law & Order: SVU very much. In fact, I recently had the honor of working on "SVU" as a background actor. Although as a union (SAG) actor it would have been awesome to have gotten to utter at least a line or 2, I found it still terrific to be working alongside such a talented cast as Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay (as well as another actor, Kevin Jiggits); They were all truly awesome folks to work with and amazingly friendly and down to earth! (Chris has a cool sense of humor!! LOL!!) I'm featured in a scene with Chris (& Kyle Maclachlan of "DUNE" fame) as a NYC Police Officer who accepts a photograph from Det. Stabler (Chris Meloni)for "processing"; I should be featured fairly prominently...I hope! (If I don't end up on the cutting room floor!!) LOL!! I'm looking forward to seeing how the episode turns out (scheduled for November 16th.)All in all, the series is terrific and deserves all the accolades it receives!

Hulk
(2003)

CGI Hulk's size
Hey all! Just saw the film was impressed!! The CGI was pretty damn good! Right down to pores on his skin, freckles, etc. The only 2 things I question are: As per he Hulk's size,I know that in the Marvel comics, The original Hulk we all know & love was listed as being 7 feet tall and weighing 1,040 lbs. To me, that would have sufficed enough right there as far as I'm concerned. (He's at least twice that size here) Also, the thing which made the Hulk unique was that he was able to increase his strength (via his anger/rage) WITHOUT any additional mass/size gain!! How large will this Hulk become? He seemed to already be heading toward King Kong size!! Also, I wish he spoke a bit more!! It was, however, cool to hear him sound simply like a big guy growling out of rage & not some kind of bear/lion/dinosaur hybrid!! (Wish he would have said at least one "Hulk Smash!" LOL!! And no Rick Jones!)In fact, he was realistically portrayed looking kind of like a green, muscle bloated Eric Bana. My second problem was with what happened to Lou Ferrigno; He was simply cast as an extra!! I think it would have been cooler to have had big Lou at least as one of the soldiers, with more to do than simply walking along side Stan Lee (who at least had a line or 2 while walking with Lou)! All in all, however, I must say that the film rocked& was enjoyable! Go see it! You won't be disappointed much at all!!

House of Frankenstein
(1997)

Very entertaining
Saw the film and thought that it was fairly interesting. It was entertaining and kept relatively close to the mythos of the various characters involved (Vampire, Werewolf and Frankenstein's monster.) The special effects were okay and the makeup was okay as well, with a minor problem I had with Franstein's creature. The makeup for actor Peter Crombie I felt didn't convey the kind of 'fear' of what the monster should have. He looked more or less like an old wino or junkie with scars; Fairly harmless looking (aside from some metallic bolts on his forehead). If they were attempting to make the monster appear benign and non lethal, then they succeeded. Also, he should have appeared a bit taller I think. He seemd to be the same height as "Fernando", the semi blind character he befriends. (How tall is Pete Crombie anyway?) other than that, it's a pretty good film with enough chills to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Third Watch
(1999)

A Third Watch Fan
I've been a fan of Third Watch for quite a while, as it consists of a very culturally diverse and talented cast. As an actor myself, I was once fortunate enough to be an extra on the show and found it to be a most enjoyable experience, meeting some of the cast who were not only professional but also very friendly. I'm also a City University of New York Campus Peace Officer and find the show to successfully incorporate real issues within each episode, such as relationship situations (between the officers of the various departments), personal issues like child care concerns, marital problems, etc., as well as most of the official procedures which the uniformed Officers (Police, Fire & Emergency Medical Technicians) utilize in the performance of their duties. The portrayals of the characters by the cast is wonderful, as they succeed in bringing each character to 3 dimensional life! You get the feeling that these are real folks you could actually run into while walking down a New York City street. (Yes, all their performances are that good!!) The action in the show is great, combining the perfect amount of gritty realism and excitement with (at times), a dash of humor. I enjoy the show very much & hope it continues to have a nice long run!! I really like this show and feel that it is the best hour of quality viewing on televsion. Fantastic work by all the cast and crew!!
