Your Place or Mine
(2023)

Absolutely mind numbingly unrequired
I don't even want to bother going into the premise of this overated, formulaic, done about a thousand times story line. You've seen one, you've seen 'em all, there is no point. Why could this not be different???? No strings attached with Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher was way better and it featured exactly the same premise. And every female then found their "period" song after that one. But this one ... Netflix should have just trashed it the moment they received it.

Ashton Kutcher has aged, no doubt about that. But he's still adorable and I still enjoy watching him on TV. AND he actually can act and has matured over the years on the screen. But whomever decided to cast deadpan-no emotion-legally-blonde in this role, made a huge mistake. And that is where this film failed. Have I just never really watched Reese Witherspoon as an actress before? She's awful! Her expressions were put on, and I mean, yes it's "acting", but everything about her movement in this whole flick seemed over done. She is quite a bad actress!

And yes, user rutujaingupta - people can have chemistry without being in the same room. But these two had ZERO. I also fell asleep halfway through these movie. One saving grace: Jesse Williams - the should have been McDreamy / McSteamy!

Shrinking
(2023)

It helps to do the wrong thing sometimes
I may have found my new favourite comedy of 2023. I say "may", because it's obviously early days and there are more comedies premiering that I have high hopes for.

Forget your stereotypical comedies with a main protagonist and their best friends with their perfect lives and their perfect stories. Shrinking has a unique blend of drama and laughter wrapped up in a very neat bow and delivers entertainment flawlessly. After watching the first episode, it reminded me a little of Ricky Gervais' After Life, but it is less depressing and not as sharp witted, I'll admit but still manages to make it better than After Life. And let's be honest, who doesn't want to see Harison Ford back in action even if it's not a big budget Hollywood blockbuster.

Along with other fantastic characters, Shrinking is a true gem. The premise sounds "washed, rinsed, repeat" and formulaic, but trust me it is not. Jason Segal heads a delicious star studded cast series, where he plays a not so recently widowed middle age man, with a teenage daughter he doesn't know how to connect with. Surrounding him are well created roles fit the casts that play them.

Every morning there's a halo hanging from the corner of my girlfriend's four-post bed, I know it's not mine but I'll see if I can use it - for the weekend or a one-night stand! Just watch it.

The Conners
(2018)

The Conners have taken off well without Roseanne
I watched Roseanne as a child with my family. We weren't particularly big fans, but it served its purpose, which was to offer short term entertainment, enjoyable enough to garner a few chuckles. When it was announced that they were reviving the series, I was slightly intrigued to see what direction the creators would take it, given that the final episode of the original series was a true hot mess (in my opinion at least).

The first 10 episodes of the revivial series was POOR to say the least. Watching Roseanne now in my late 30s, made me wonder why I enjoyed it before. With the way the world has changed, my taste in comedy has also changed. Roseanne is probably what brought this show down and with her gone, The Conners can really take off. Let's admit it, she was loud, crass and annoying. And her laugh was just a small part of the issue, Fran Drescher and FRIENDS' Janice laughs are iconic, Roseanne's was just noise polution.

I've almost completed season 2 of The Conners, and am hooked. I can definitely see why some people don't like it, and the jokes can be a bit backdated and offensive, but like before, it serves a purpose which is to provide entertainment. In fact, I find the new Conners is funnier, more original and has characters that we can really relate to. Their one liners are just down right hilarious. And the whole family has real life struggles that many people in life really face, hence the relatability factor. Every character has been developed well and they all serve their unique presense and purpose to the show. Some sitcomes throw in certain characters just to fit with times, or become so hooked up on what critics are going to say, so they throw in diversity for the sake of it, rather than having it find a natural flow within the story line. The Conners do it well, they don't not talk about "the elephant in the room", they address it classily and it's not meant to be there for the sake of tokenism. The new addition of Jay R Furguson, is great. What a great character to add to the clan.

If you don't take the show seriously and don't seek it out to solve all your daily struggles, because that's now what television is there for, and sit back, clear your mind and just enjoy this series for ... FUN, you'll see how good it actually is and begin to appreciate it for its entertainment value. I am one to always find all the bad points of a comedy series, and there are very few I ever give a rating over 5, but this one deserves better.

Maggie
(2022)

Perfectly annoying, made for today's TikTok generation
Rebecca Rittenhouse was great on The Mindy Project and therefore I had high hopes for this series, seeing as she plays the titular character. However, I found the whole show vapid, shallow, annoying, predictable and just perfect for today's TikTok generation. There is nothing original about this series, and the premise is extremely weak. That's So Raven was actually more tolerable, even if you're watching it as an adult.

The women in this show are extremely vapid, they don't care about anything except their when their next botox appointment is. Their portrayal of life is very unrealistic and even the script writers couldn't save this show from being remotely funny or interesting. Why do we still succumb to such low quality television?

If this doesn't come back for a second season, I shall not be upset at all. Some newer series such as Kevin can go *** himself, Loot and Ted Lasso are much more worth my brain cells than this outrages garbage. I watched the entire season so that I can give it an honest review, and here we are.

Trying
(2020)

Nope
After completing episode one of this series, my first reaction was "God this is rubbish, who actually watches these?!" When this show was made, what kind of emotions was it meant to evoke in the viewers, pray tell?! What ever happened to comedies? I will admit, I did think some moments were amusing and "smile-able" ... but as someone who failed to conceive herself and also wanted to go down the adoption route, I simply cannot relate to this nonsensical garbage. Being judged by women with careers and children, making it seem like children are the only thing in the world that is going to solve all your life problems, is so unrealistic. This premise is just really not for me, I'm sure people out there will enjoy this show for whatever reason they choose to, but I found it nauseating. Thank goodness it's not morning sickness, just disgust.

Can You Keep a Secret?
(2019)

Nothing other than trash, to describe it
I've just read several negative reviews of this movie, but still felt like I needed to add more salt to the wound. I will also add that I never read the book and that I probably never will. Sophie Kinsella's stories are just not my type of novels. Having said that, I enjoyed Confessions of a Shopaholic, however (the movie, didn't bother to read the book).

This movie was quite painful to watch, right from the beginning. The acting was awful, everything was very fake, as if the actors didn't really want to commit to their roles, but were still willing to make a buck or two. The script was awful, absolutely no humour at all, just a mishmash of scripted dialogue thrown in here and there, and wasn't even timed correctly! To say formulaic would be a complement at this point.

The two leading characters had ZERO chemistry. The story line was a bit unimaginative. I have a secret ... my secret actually was rather anticlimactic.

Sophie Kinsella's books to my understanding is aimed at young adults, but I have known mid-30-year-olds to read it too. This movie adaptation however, is geared to teenagers or perhaps those in their early 20s. Whilst the characters were meant to be adults, they acted like children, the maturity level was so incredibly juvenile. "I'm so in love"! after the first date? Does that really happen? After everything we have seen happening in the world today, even those in their early 20s, TODAY know that life isn't made out of rainbows, butterflies and a Disney cartoon.

Even if it is formulaic, some extra work could have possibly made this more watchable. As much as "you've seen one, you've seen them all" goes, the other new addition to Netflix, Plus One, was SO much better. Give this a hard pass, not even worth being in the background, whilst you did household chores, or play games!

Shrill
(2019)

Not a hit, mostly a miss
I'm surprised at the many positive reviews on this series. It is predictable, formulaic, insulting and quite unfunny. First, there's yet another leading role, with your typical "journalist" job, trying to make a breakthrough and wanting to write about women empowerment etc etc - if so why doesn't she find work in a magazine / publication that promotes this? Surely there are several in this day and age.

Secondly, it's about a plus size woman who lacks self-confidence, is meek, shy and finds it so hard to stand up for herself, whilst trying to promote positivity. Seen it, and seen it done better.

Thirdly, the main actor, Aidy Bryant is very difficult to connect with. She is not the right person to play the role. And this is as petty as it gets, but her nervous giggling, or so called "cute" giggles is pretty annoying.

When she does finally write a good piece that gets published, she's suddenly brought down by ONE troll with negative comments? WHAT? And it just seems that she needs validation through all the wrong things - needing a boy friend to show up at a work thing, wanting only positive comments, wanting to be given the chance to do what she believes in and not working for it. I don't get it! Have some self appreciation, love yourself, date better people. This show has nothing to do with the struggles of a plus size lady, it's owning yourself and being the best possible person you can, confidentially and intelligently. Have a personality. I know so many people with bigger personalities, myself included. And I am pretty fat.

I can't advocate this.

Bob Hearts Abishola
(2019)

Love comes in all forms
I love this show and I hope it gets more seasons. The premise is so simple, yet heartfelt. Coming from an Indian background and marrying into a British family, I can very much relate to the everyday goings in this tale. And whilst some elements may be exaggerated or understated, it's easy to tell that it's all made in the name of comedy. It is after all a sitcom.

The jokes aren't the funniest, but sometimes, it's the execution that matters most and the way it is delivered throughout this show is simply hilarious. I am also a sucker for romance, I live for romance, it is probably my utmost life-goal and when I found romance, I felt complete. This show has one of the sweetest romance stories out there.

The Abishola character is definitely my favourite, she's funny and fiesty. Whilst I know friends from Nigeria, I can vouch for their sense of humour and know that her character isn't actually that exaggerated and is pretty spot on. She sees the light in everything and acknowledges how hard life can be, yet is able to find humour in it.

This is a gem and it is different from all the formulaic sitcoms out there. I'm definitely going to avoid commenting on the fact that there's just so much "white-centric" sitcoms out there and just say that this needs to stay on the airways, it's good for the world.

Hot in Cleveland
(2010)

Mindless, dimwit fun
I had watched the entire first and second season of Hot in Cleveland when it first came out, and then gave up on it, because better shows just came along and this got benched. Some years later, the entire season was made available on Amazon Prime, so I decided to give it another shot, and watched it from the beginning again. It's not terrible and it does deliver some really great punchlines making it funny sometimes.

What is sad though is how women are so catty to each other (this coming from a woman herself) and how they bring each other down in such a degrading manner. I mean, when did it become funny to make fun of another woman for being flat chested? There's nothing powerful about this show; which people seem to claim - friendship among these four women? If I had a friend like Betty White (Elka Ostrofsky), I'd tell her to never speak to another woman until she knew how to behave.

White's portrayal as Elka is just awful. It's IS NOT funny for a 91 year old woman to degrade other women constantly and it really isn't funny to see a grandmother figure behaving so provocatively. She's meant to come off as this feisty, sweet character, but she just comes off as catty, narcissistic and just a plain rude woman whom I would have thrown a glass of water at on my first meet.

Melanie Moriarty played by Valerie Bertenelli is another annoying character. No self appreciation, constantly volunteering to be the boob of the group and complete disrespect for herself is just not an example of "girl-power". She is whiny, annoying - just your regular imbecile and that's out of purpose when she can offer so much more to her character.

Yes, it's all fictitious and no one is asking anyone to take these women to be their role models, but still it's just a very sad portrayal of women to try and garner some laughs.

A comedy about friendship amongst women can be so much funnier without having to be superficial and so self absorbed in looks. There's just a real fine line between supporting and degrading.

Having said all that however, I quite like Dapne Moon - or Joy Scroggs. Head strung, fights her own battles, intelligent and witty, she's the only one that carries this show into the new age where women are meant to be seen as leaders and equals.

But if you don't want to be so pedantic and simply want to enjoy something with a glass of wine in the evening, this might be the perfect show. On an additional note, I immensely enjoyed Craig Furgeson's character as Simon. Genuinely hilarious ... and what a silver fox!

I Feel Bad
(2018)

Another Alex Inc attempt, will fail eventually
Honestly, it's 2018, do writers get better, or worse? How is it no one is able to come up with something more entertaining and better written than this? This series is terribly formulaic. Setting aside the interracial couple segment of the story, which I can say is the only positive and interesting point, everything else just falls flat. Main character talks to herself in her head, she's the only woman in her very modern tech company (I'm surprised the writers did not make her a journalist), comes from Indian heritage and surprise, surprise she doesn't agree with her moth 90% of the time, whilst her father is the silent character in the background - goodness ... how much more stereo typical can this get?! It's not funny either. I know sitcoms these days really want to stand out and make a difference, but I'd rather be watching reruns of The Big Bang Theory than anymore episodes of this. If Alex Inc failed, this probably will as well.

Life in Pieces
(2015)

Sweet, Funny and memorable
I think Life in Pieces deserves more credit than it gets. One for very famous names in it - who admit it, are just veterans behind the screen and simply know what they're doing, two, for being a copycat, but actually executing itself well enough to stand out and take credit for its own originality in some ways (quite a lot of the premise screams out Modern Family), three, for being what it is supposed to be - funny - just what sitcoms should be, and obviously being categorized as a comedy, it simply delivers.

All the characters in this show are lovable - right down to Wiest, whose soft demeanour has always annoyed me, but she plays her part so well, its actually enjoyable (you know, that grandmother you love, but don't want to later grow to dislike because they live in the past, that mother-in-law who is so sickly sweet, she knows she's being nice to you, just so you feel bad for not being good enough for her son, that wife who is devoted but often secretly controlling and the mother who rubs off on you, when you least expect it!). Even the kids are fun to watch, especially the youngest, who may have a little too much sass for a nine year old, but her cute curly locks kinda distracts you from it.

I also love Colin Hanks in this, he is looking more and more like his dad, but he's seems to have built his own label and can be appreciated for his own talents.

Life in Pieces is a great show to watch with the family, it's educational as well as inspirational, and is simply entertaining.

Great News
(2017)

Not quite a copycat, still not enticing enough
I've not seen many episodes of 30 Rock, but I have seen enough to know how similar Great News is - and without knowing that this was a "Liz Lemon" creation, after watching the first couple of episodes in season one, I already felt there was a huge familiarity to Great News, from 30 Rock.

Therefore I wasn't in the least surprised, when I found out Tina Fey serves as an executive producer for Great News.

The entire premise is quite similar, the characters seemed to have been written with inspiration from 30 rock. Of course sometimes, this isn't a bad thing, however in this case, Great News is always going to live in the shadow of 30 Rock and may never take off as its own TV sitcom.

Aside from the fact that it's not actually that funny and certain characters are nothing but annoying, Richie being the least annoying, which is saying A LOT (I will be prepared to eat my words should this program go pass 4 seasons, which I confidently think it won't) there isn't much to go on with this rather dull sitcom.

A large difference I can see between Great News and 30 Rock however is that the two main characters are destined for a romantic relationship, which Baldwin and Fey weren't.

Also, 30 Rock developed their characters quite well and all went on to find fame, based on their characters from the show, with Great News however, several of them are practically unheard off, and I don't know if this sitcom is enough to carry their names to become household names someday.

As for story and plot wise - it all falls flat. There's the overbearing mother (the ultimate annoying character), the daughter who does nothing but seeks approval from the mother she doesn't want to turn into - the blond (not-so-bombshell) bimbo, who seems to live in the digital age and spews hashtags as part of a conversation, and the Alec Baldwin of the show - or the cheaper version of Baldwin in the shape of John Michael Higgins all simply cannot save this TV show from achieving entertaining status.

After season 1, I wasn't the least excited about season 2, but thought I'd watch it anyways, but I continue to be disappointed by it. It is however great to run in the background whilst you carry on with other chores at home - why? Because the entire premise is so chaotic, it makes doing household chores a breeze.

Superior Donuts
(2017)

Definitely, laughable
Just finished the first three episodes of this comedy. Given that I'm a Maz Jobrani fan (and that I've met him in person and watched him live), I have to say he's probably the reason I was even interested in this series. Nevertheless, it's quite funny. The dialogue whilst some may argue is cliché and done before several times, I still think Judd Hirsch brings out a special spark that just makes it funnier.

Crossing my fingers so they don't take this off the air. Jobrani is hilarious in anything he does and Superior Donuts is no exception. I'll certainly be looking forward to this now each week.

Black·ish
(2014)

Nothing new, nothing amusing. nothing funny
OK, back up, back up now. Is Black-ish trying to be the new Cosby Show or something along those lines? Whether it is or it isn't, I still don't see the appeal of this show and I'm already in episode 5. One, Blackish isn't funny. Two, Blackish recycles humour but delivers it badly, therefore, making it not funny. Three, the show is borderline racist, not just to black people, to people in general. Anthony Anderson is a great actor, he's a funny guy, great chemistry in front of the camera and clearly the only reason this show is tolerable. Along with Laurence Fishburne, these two are the only two people I enjoy watching. As for Tracee Ellis Ross, in all honesty, her role is pretty damn annoying. It's My Wife and Kids all over again, where mom tries very hard to connect with her teenage daughter and tries to look cool so her younger daughter looks up to her. While we're on the subjects of daughters, when did it become funny to see young kids be sarcastic, rude, back-talk and too big for their own shoes? Plus this little girl carries it out with terrible acting skills. And again, when was it funny to see teenage girls with constant mood swings hating on their parents? No parent finds that funny. This whole scene, has been done over and over again. The difference with Blackish is that it's delivered extremely poorly, thus making it unbearable to watch. It's a terrible sitcom honestly. I'm amazed it's been given a full season's run.

Manhattan Love Story
(2014)

Addorable
Since the debut of new sitcoms this fall, this has to be my favourite. Despite having a typical story line - love, relationships, dating, single-life, uncertainty etc, the characters do it well and bring much life to the show. Analeigh Tipton can actually act. And that's enough to drive this show toward a good direction. Her sweet girl next-door, awkward personality relates to many young ladies, myself included. Some of the typical features of the show annoys me slightly, but it's overshadowed by the two main characters. The supporting characters seem miss matched and have close to zero chemistry. But it's both Dana and Peter whom we're keen to see. However the only way this show will succeed is character development and little bit more background for viewers to understand the characters better. What works though, is the 6-degree-seperation in how everyone seems to be related to one another, but still character development has to be added and needs to be written well, so this little gem will take off. I've read that it's likely to be canceled and I'd be disappointed if it were true. It's charming, funny, no-so-fresh, light hearted and just the right kinda show you want to see to have a tingly feel good sensation after a heavy day.

Bad Teacher
(2014)

Outragesly awful
Oh wow. I'm still dumbfounded after the first episode of Bad Teacher. This series is very bad. My face was twisted in disgust throughout the first 10 minutes of the show. I can't believe it actually got aired, even though it's been canceled now. Off all the shows that have not been renewed for a second season, canceling Bad Teacher was the best decision ever made. Poor story line, horrible writing, extremely immature acting skills and zero chemistry from all the characters. Actresses like Sara Gilbert and Kristin Davies deserved to be seen in much better roles instead of wasting their talent on such mediocre screen time. What's worse is, in this day and age, where we have good quality sitcoms such as Brooklyn Nine-nine, Moms and a few more that recently debuted, Bad Teacher is horribly miss placed and should have been trashed on its first script itself. It's very trashy and impossible to sit through. The only attention it will gain is a pile of bad reviews from baffled audiences

Super Fun Night
(2013)

The female version of the Big Bang Theory
One of the reviews on here mentioned this show seemed similar to The Mindy Project, which I agreed with. But after watching a few more episodes, I think it reflects The Big Bang Theory a lot more. Anyways, it's not to say that the series is a big flop, on the contrary though it's quite witty and 'fun-to-watch' like most people would put. Rebel Wilson is an awesome actress, she's funny, adorable and she brings out this very endearing character (much like Leonard Hodfstater (sp?). Her friends are quite eccentric, filling up the cast list quite well. I wouldn't give it a past and am curious to see how far this show will go. The idea may not be the best, but it seems to work and if the actors can pull it off each episode, then that's all that matters.

Beauty & the Briefcase
(2010)

Supeficial Bimbo
This movie, is truly an insult to younger women in or not in the corporate world. Lane is a superficial bimbo. She seems to think she can get just pretty much anything she imagines, without thinking about the consequences. She is a little over confident about her appearance and her intellect, which is kinda zero. And that stupid list of hers? What type of woman actually dates like that? She seems to be living in some dumb blond world. Oh oops, she is kinda blond isn't her? If this is how woman think they should act like to gain attention from others, it really is quite lame. The best word used in the entire movie? 'Flimsy' which best describes, Lane. The second she actually finds an intelligent man, who manages to carry a conversation, she gets bored. Oh god, and no one writes like that not even for magazine material.

Even for a lame B-grade teen movie, this fails on many levels. I mean, I'm a journalist myself and my job is NOTHING like what Lane does. I still cannot believe this movie did not get shelved and was actually released. Those who actually did enjoy this movie, I'm sorry to say must be those who live their life's out off a chick flick romance novel.

Every conversation, sounded like it was written by and for 12 year olds. I am truly sad that I actually lasted till the end of this pathetic excuse of a movie.

Whitney
(2011)

Late developing stages, still entertaining nonetheless.
As far as epic TV comedies go, Whitney by far is one of the weakest one ever aired. It probably will never sum up to FRIENDS, or Everybody Loves Raymond etc. BUT, I wouldn't give it a pass just yet.

Take it from this point of view. It's a comedy that actually starts from the end and slowly builds up. Each of the characters involved actually have very unique stories to tell. And their character development is pretty interesting too.

Take Roxanne for example, she's a divorcée who tried to get back with her ex, but failed, and is again back in the single's dating game. And then there's Lily and Neil, who have been so in love since the show begun, got engaged, fuss about wedding arrangements, only to later realize they're not meant to be, and even more shocking, Neil suddenly finds out he may be gay.

Mark, however has very little character development so far, but I'm interested to see how his character will fair in later episodes. And then there's Alex. Honestly, he's more of the star of the show than that main actress (what's her name? - Whitney?) Alex comes out as this sweet, caring, forgiving, tolerating and really hot boy friend, who she clearly does not deserve, still it's always fun to watch them together. The chemistry between them, actually works.

Overall, this may not be the funniest show out there. But I am surprised to see how it's developed since the first episode aired. All in all, it really isn't all that bad. And there are some pretty funny scenes - though obvious to say that Whitney Cummings herself, isn't as funny as she seems to think she is, and should really thank god that her supporting actors are the ones who are really keeping this show alive. She may be creator, writer, director or whatever not of the show, still it's the people who star in it that bring the story to live and may give this show its staying power. I'm hopping to see a season 2.

Happy Endings
(2011)

Finally a good comedy for 2011/2012.
Finally, a comedy that I really look forward to. When I first watched Happy Endings, I was in New Zealand, and they were on their 4th episode. I hadn't thought much of it then, but still decided to start at the beginning.

I can see why some are comparing it to Friends, since there was a runaway bride at the beginning and it revolves around six friends. Still Happy Endings has it's own uniqueness. It's fresh, young, hip and quite hilarious. It's also great to see some diversity in it, in terms of religion, personalities as well as well, sexual preferences. For these reasons alone, I think Happy Endings can relate to more people out there in this day and age, where we're more open to a lot of things.

I love how they're making comedies and TV series' that are catering to our growing culture and keeping ahead of today's times. 2 thumbs up for Happy Endings, let's hope it stays around long and continues to entertain.

My favorite character so far is Max. Though, pretty much all the characters in the show are quite enjoyable to watch. Each individual portrays a unique yet realistic persona that we can actually find in ourselves.

I hate to compare Happy Endings to the other sitcoms out there, but I just have to say, this one's less annoying than How I Met Your Mother, Cougar Town and even Scrubs.

New Girl
(2011)

Don't get what all the buzz is about
I just completed episode 3 of New Girl, and don't get why everyone is saying this is the next best comedy out there.

I agree with one of the reviewers here that the character Jess, is really a 30-year old child. There's truly nothing endearing about a grown girl acting retarded.

Sadly all three of the guys can hardly act, especially the one called Schmidth. The roommates have no chemistry what so ever, and the story line has been very sloppy so far.

I don't even see anything funny about New Girl, but I truly hope it picks up, since this was exactly how I felt about Will and Grace, but that got a lot better in Season 2, and became a big hit.

I actually want New Girl to succeed, and I think Zoey can do a lot better. Best of luck.

Two and a Half Men: Those Fancy Japanese Toilets
(2011)
Episode 7, Season 9

7 episodes and the charm grows
After 7 episodes with Ashton Kutcher in the revamped Two and a Half Men, I have no doubt this series is going to stick around for a couple more seasons.

This episode was genuinely funny, and it's the first episode that showcased all the main characters of Two and a Half Men that has made the series a success thus far.

It's getting better and is picking up quite quickly. I hope to see a little bit more of Judith and Herb too in the coming episodes, and am eager to see what else Waldon Smidth has to give.

Still a fan, always will be!

Two and a Half Men: Big Girls Don't Throw Food
(2011)
Episode 3, Season 9

Give Kutcher a chance
I think everyone's problem with the new version of Two and a Half Men is just that they cannot throw out the old, and welcome the new.

I personally think, Ashton Kutcher has brought in quite a bit of color to the usual mundane, dark, cynical plot in this show. Albeit, that's what Two and a Half Men is supposed to be, still Kutcher's character is what the show really needs to spark it up further. All I'm saying is, give it a little bit more time. It will pick up.

The jokes are still funny, and Alan, Jake, Rose (though I'm not sure if she's going to be a cast regular now), Bertha are still the heart of the show. We're all just judging too quickly, and all 'Charlie Harper' fans are still bitter of his demise. In all honesty, how much more of drinking, and frolicking with one girl after another can bring in the laughs? Eventually, that'll just go to the bin too. Maybe it's a blessing that Sheen isn't in it anymore. Give Kutcher a chance, pretty sure he can sway some of the negative opinions and pick up a few more fans. I really don't want this show to be canceled. I'm a HUGE fan.

Episodes
(2011)

Just don't get it
OK... sorry the only way anyone is actually going to enjoy this new series is if they were above the age of 40, or went to some preppy boarding school in their childhood. I'm afraid I couldn't connect to it or find anything amusing about the show. Be it 2 episodes only so far, I'm not really kicking and screaming, anticipating the rest. Somehow I fear it might stop its run before the first season ends, or may just be canceled after the first season.

Let's get down to the tiny facts. For one the characters who play the two writers of a TV Series, Beverly and Sean Lincoln, have absolutely no chemistry between them. Instead of looking like a happily married couple, they look like they could play a mother and son role. Giving that Tamsin is older, this only further proves that point.

Secondly, it isn't funny at all, sadly. I did not laugh, not once, but oddly enough found John Pankow to be the most entertaining person in the show. As for Leblanc, well I was a fan of his when he played Joey in FRIENDS definitely, but I wonder how his character is going to develop here and relate to the audience. I suppose that's one reason to keep watching the show and look forward to it's coming episodes.

Still overall, Episodes isn't doing it for me. I hope it either picks up in coming episodes, for 'Joey's' sake, or I simply can chose not to watch it anymore.

The Tourist
(2010)

Watch it if you want to fall asleep
I watched the first ten minuets of this movie and had no idea where it was heading.

What direction it was taking, or where the story started.

Considering it was all in a foreign language at the beginning only gave it leeway for the directors to cramp in as much crap as possible to lengthen the time for an intro to further lengthen any extra time which could have possibly salvaged the story line.

No one would get the story line until unless they at least read a guide or synopsizes about it.

Watch the beginning without hearing what its about, and its got disaster written all over it.

Until unless you like sitting down restlessly and waiting for something to sum up from nothing, you might enjoy this flick.

The two main stars had zero chemistry, Jolie looked like an older cradle snatcher compared to Depp.

Anymore than 40 minuets of the flick, I would have wanted to throw myself off a moving vehicle.

And 40 minuets of watching it is actually being very generous with my time.

Don't say I never gave it a chance, because if you can't hold a viewers attention in the first 40 minuets of a movie, it's already epic fail.
