Britannia
(2017)

At 7 stars it's underrated
This is more closely aligned to vikings with its myth, magic and folklore than a period piece. Like Vikings it's violent , raw and at times disturbing. Like Vikings it's humorous, warm, and magical. Britannia, is not as tight aa Vikings or quite as compulsive but its very close.

There are some wonderful characters and top notch performances. The sets are good and locations very good.

Compared to Vikings , which just may be the best action drama ever , Britannia lacks the epic feel and the lavish production but I still devoured each episode and didn't want it to end. I had no hesitation in buying the second and third season and I was not disappointed.

It deserves a 10 because it delivers in every episode.

Dark Encounter
(2019)

What a surprise
I cam across this while recovering from an illness and looking for something easy but engaging. I wanted something different and didn't mind the genre. I did some random search on prime and liked the look of the picture and hust waded in.

Right from the first frame I was in. The film is a roller coaster of action and emotion. It's a brilliant story and unique .

It's filmed and edited in a very edible way. There's really no point where I wanted to skip

It's fantastical but believable and each character is given voice in a masterful way . Not one of the cast feels redundant.

I loved this somewhat modern morality tale.

If you like an engaging, rapid plot development with a lot of scifi this is bloody ace ...you'll remember this one.

Inbred
(2011)

Raw decent horror
Deffo deserves a decent rating.

5/10 is well harsh.

The slick Hollywood brigade with no life experience won't get this but anyone that's ever been in a strange place and felt vulnerable will. It's entertaining and moves at a good pace and the characters and setting is raw and realistic enough despite a little tongue in cheek stereotyping.

More characters ? Really !

It's superior to the usual lost in cabin or on a wilderness trail nonsense as ots grounded in actual cultural norms rather than rich teens or twenty somethings with beautiful bodies and zero common sense.

If you are a bit discontent with cabin fever give this a go.

Night Sky
(2022)

What a cool story told with a great arc
If you like sci-fi you'll like this.

If you love a complex but easy to follow back-story this is for you.

If you love intrigue this is for you.

If you appreciate the right pace to your adventure you'll be comfortable and excited with each episode.

At the end of the last episode ,I just wanted more...

They had better be a 2nd series.

No Time to Die
(2021)

The best Bond story ever
Its not flawless , but it is on the verge of brilliant. Indeed, there are many moments of beautiful direction, cinematography and human dilemma and emotion that it feels like life itself.

The film opens very well and the pace let's up just barely in the middle phase to help the audience clarify the many entangled relationships the story has unearthed.

A fitting tribute to the best Bond .

Chaos Walking

I only review what I like
Engaging .

Fascinating.

Horrifying.

Entertaining.

Not for the faint hearted or for the unintelligent.

This is a deeply disturbing but powerful and entertaining exploration of fear and violence. It is an ambitious project and it works 100%.

All the characters grow in leaps and bounds as the story evolves and captures itself in fear and loathing.

It's as powerful as any celebrated film, literature or political rallying point. Because its hugely creative and entertaining its message is wonderfully clear.

In a way its a masterpiece.

Hugely impressed.

Big, cool, inventive and most of all enjoyable.

Film has a slight drop off for 20 minutes as it prepares for main body of action and unravelling story of our hero's. Other than that, BOOM!
