Outer Banks
(2020)

Super fun first season
I enjoyed first season a lot. Pacing was great and treasure hunt in modern day thrilling. The pacing was so great, I hoped the story would conclude and next season will feature brand new adventure, because how long can you drag one storyline? Clearly writers imagination is limited in terms of grand story ideas. The second season is annoying the heck out of me. Everything feels forced just to hit 10 episodes mark. It's much easier to create little story obstacles to fill the run time than come up with totally new ideas for each season as mentioned before. I'd love to keep watching this, but it's not fun anymore, it's irritating. I am writing this with episode 2 of second season playing in the background.

Marlowe
(2022)

The Perfect Cure for Insomnia!
Liam Neeson stars as yet another aging action hero turned brooding detective in this snooze fest of a neo-noir crime thriller. With a slow-paced plot and uninspired performances from the rest of the cast, this film is a great cure for insomnia. Despite being based on a novel by John Banville and directed by Neil Jordan, Marlowe fails to deliver any real thrills or excitement. The monotonous, plain color palette of Marlowe makes you want to close your eyes and dream of better films. It's no Chinatown, that's for sure. To quote Liam Neeson's famous line from Taken, "I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. But if it's a good detective movie you're after, I suggest you look elsewhere."

Knock at the Cabin
(2023)

Unimaginative snooze fest.
Haven't read the book. Movie uses flashbacks that add nothing to the story, only extend the run time. I wished movies stopped including boring flashbacks, because it feels like watching a TV show. Premise is stupid, but it could've been fun and entertaining if it was creative and dialogues written well. What we have is super slow pacing to a point one may fall asleep, unless starts to fast forward. Long pauses, slow delivery. I don't mind slow movies or long shots, but with reason and substance. What else? Oh, no phone reception, but tv and news is working no problem? Yeah, right. It's impossible to suspend your believe on this one. You wasted a good actor twice. Bravo! I'm done.

Halloween Kills
(2021)

Superior over predecessor, fantastic 80s vibe slasher.
I hated the 2018 one. It was full of plot holes, pacing was awful and all together, it was boring. I enjoyed this movie a lot, it's the opposite of the 2018 one. Very entertaining. It gave me 80s/90s horror vibe, which is very much missing in horror movies these days. I would also like to point out that it wasn't as gory as some say. I've seen some gore in movies and this is half way there, which is perfect balance. Film makers did a great job on this one. Now I'm actually looking forward to the final one.

Wonder Woman 1984
(2020)

1 for Gal, 1 for Chris, 1 for the movie being made
Silly, boring, unimaginative. Chris is back thanks to a magic stone? Sure, but let him return as Chris, not as some rondom guy that only Gal sees as Chris. If you have a magic stone, you can literally do anything.

Wild Mountain Thyme
(2020)

Complete disaster and waste of time
First of all; I'm an expat living in Eire for the last 15 years, but even with not being born here I can tell it is extremely offending to the Irish. Stereotype is chasing stereotype. Starting with neon green landscape views from the beginning(yes it's called an emerald island but it's not THAT green) I was feeling sorry for the main actors trying to deliver such and idiotic dialogue in the end, plus there's not one iota of on screen chemistry between them. The others actors performance wise okayish. Painful to hear the accents, pretend to be Irish? Setting in time is like the 70ties, but supposed to bo nowadays? Bizarre! Definitely not a a picture of Ireland today.

Ava
(2020)

Silly plot taken seriously entertains.
If you are looking for a silly movie that is entertaining half the run time, you will be entertain. Just fast forward family b-plot. Two main actors are great as always and that's a joy to watch. I guess business is business and they just need to keep producing new stuff, no matter how mediocre it is. I have 26 mins left minus family subplot, 12 mins give or take. Action scenes have shaky camera and quick edits hiding poor choreography, but it's still watchable and not a total disaster - it's quite fun actually.

Searching
(2018)

Ridiculously bad, IMDB rating system is flawed.
Whether fantasy or tech movie, it needs to be grounded in reality. This one fails in realistic representation of computer POV. Very conveniently for plot to move forward there's always laptop on, webcam on, facetime on, computers that don't go to sleep mode and so much more, it's beyond ridiculous.

The second issue is the plot twist, which is so unrealistic, it's laughable. How many times have we seen same cliche police officer is really the bad person all along? Based on movie logic, police station is the best criminals employment opportunity.

A long time ago companies figured out how to cheat IMDB rating system. Which isn't that hard, all you need is a number of positive fake reviews.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
(2018)

Boring and too long.
I felt like I was binge watching 10 episodes of TV show, but couldn't fast forward boring story plots, fillers and flashbacks. There is no drive. Nothing really happens and when it does, it's underwhelming. For a movie about magic the script is very unimaginative.

This script has the same block buster problems that are money focused rather than than wanting to tell a good and exciting story. People talking about things I don't care about in scenes directed very lazily to fill the run time and setup franchise. For what it has to offer, 1hr and 25min would suffice. There is no flow, pacing is terrible. Same like SW last ep.

Newt is fun, opening scene is great visually but dumb logically. Kovalsky side kick does nothing to me in this one, humour forced. The most thrilling parts are HP nostalgia moments.

When franchise is that popular, people will go and see it no matter what. When it makes money back, it's not because it is a good movie, it's because it's s popular and you liked that HP movies and books. I hope they end up with 3rd one, as making such a boring lazy script is an insult to us, viewers. However if they can milk it beyond that, avarage viewer is to blame. I'm not watching another one.

The Predator
(2018)

The best Predator since the original one!
I am so glad I don't read or watch reviews any more before seeing a movie.

This movie is amazing. Shane Black delivers again. 2hr are action packed, bloody and thrilling. It's also original and has so many awesome scenes. Trailers were awful, fortunately it was just bad advertising.

I would like to question all of you reviewing movies, people giving freaking 8 stars to boring, paint by numbers, Marvel movies.

What's great about it, 2hrs just fly and there is no fillers. Yes, no fillers! Also, it's very self aware, which I enjoyed a lot.

Don't get discouraged by bad reviews here. If you liked the first Predator, you will love this one. It has everything you could ever wanted and then some more. It has original ideas and scenes. It is very engaging and fun.

I will see it again. Amazing job, Shane!

Jack Ryan
(2018)

Childish script, hard to watch such incompetence.
I was looking forward to this, but unfortunately, it's poor.

Great source material and smart plot is ignored here. What we have is primary school level script with characters behaving like children. It treats viewers like morons. Whole CIA cubicles remind me of The Office or even a classroom.

Characters are cartoony, exaggerated. This TV series has old the issues streaming shows often have - unimaginative execution, boring direction and slow pace.

I was not entertained.
