LAX
(2004)

Unbelievable load of manure
Gazing at Heather Locklear's skinny bottom is not reason enough for watching this feeble-minded, arrogant an racist series. Pilot episode was sickening enough to kill any desire to continue watching it.

Some facts: Serbia did not exist as an independent state until 2006. There was NEVER an airline with the name "Serb" in it. The only operator was JAT Airways which had an impeccable safety score. Never in the history of this operator (established in 1927 as "Aeroput", renewed in 1947 as Yugoslav Airways) was there a drunken pilot. - When USA put a stranglehold on Yugoslavia (1991) the flights for NY (using DC-10s, not Lockheed Tristars)were discontinued. There was never any flights to LAX. The pilot uniforms were standard with golden rank markings, not those ridiculous multicolored ones. Serbian (Yugoslav)pilots never had any disciplinary problems with airport management.

I am, as the majority of my compatriots, thoroughly sick and tired of Hollywood clichés with Serbs as eternal bad guys. Find another helpless victim to spit on, for a change.

Ljubav i moda
(1960)

Brilliant contemporary comedy with music
When I first saw this movie, I was instantly madly in love with beautiful 18 yrs old actress Beba Loncar. Naturally, I was not alone. The entire Yugoslav male population of the early sixties was also enchanted by her. The film was full of good music, mostly composed by famous composer Darko Kraljic and performed by excellent actor/singer Djuza Stojiljkovic and some contemporary very popular singers, such as Ivo Robic, Lola Novakovic, Gaby Novak and the world class vocal jazz quartet of the trumpet player Predrag Ivanovic. Western flavor was skillfully intermixed with Serbian humor, and the film was completely devoid of any politics. In 2010 the film, digitally remastered, was shown at the Sopot Film Festival and the guest of honor was Beba Loncar, looking stunning even in her late sixties.

The film has kept its freshness and is popular even in younger generations. It is always a pleasure to watch.

Cougar Town
(2009)

Boring and repetitive
The start was relatively OK, but had soon turned into a cliché already seen in the shows dedicated to suburban life. As if Courtney Cox's character was not played badly enough, the latest "Friends" addition, Jennifer Aniston, was totally miscast in the role of the psychiatrist. I somehow managed to survive one season, hoping that some improvement was on the way, but to no avail. The male characters are somewhat better and more entertaining, but unless some additional characters are added, the current ones are sucked dry. The plot is practically completely revealed, and hardly any improvement could be expected. Therefore, I am "canceling" the show. This one is not worth watching.
