The Good Doctor
(2017)

Love this show!
It's great to see more shows coming out with neuro atypical lead characters. I really enjoy the nuanced interactions between characters, lots of modern workplace themes.

Interesting themes, engaging stories, a variety of characters. I enjoy that all the characters have flaws but with their hearts in the right place.

It's a TV drama so avoid expectations of it being a portrayal of "real life" (confused why so many reviewers expected this)... Only thing I'm not a fan of are the randomly over-dramatic cliffhanger episodes at the end of each season... I actually skipped the final two episodes of season 4 cause CBF... I like the standard format episodes...

Why Women Kill
(2019)

Season 1 is 8/10 season 2 is 4/10
Season 1 was fabulous - complex and entertaining characters, twisting storylines and nuanced drama.

Season 2 was crap - shallow and tedious characters, predictable and boring plot, tacky eye-rolling drama *sigh*

Sweet Tooth
(2021)

Entertaining but not for sci-fi fans
Found the show reasonably entertaining, a bit slow and a bit cheesy - it's clear that it's aimed at a young audience. I liked how quirky Pubba is, he such a sweet man. I loved the little cottage home in the forest, so homely. Gus is a pretty cute kid though the writers use convenient misbehaviour a lot to move the plot in their intended direction. For a child raised in the wild and with deer genetics he sure doesn't have much self-preservation instinct.

I wasn't so keen on some of the plot points - the (?anti)science was almost fantastical, you need to constantly suspend belief... The timelines of the "scientific" discoveries was laughable as were the "labs" and technologies being used... I really enjoy sci-fi so for me this was a real let-down.

The Gloaming
(2020)

Entertaining though a bit over dramatic
Intriguing storyline with the two main characters portrayed by talented actors. The Tasmanian scenery is incredible! Unfortunately the rest of the characters are pretty over-acted, many are clichéd and the child actors leave alot to be desired...

Coyote Ugly
(2000)

Great supporting charaters just try to ignore Violet!
This movie is made entertaining by the supporting characters, everyone but the main character Violet is entertaining and adds fun and complexity to the otherwise shallow and predictable story-line. If you can mostly ignore how irritating Violet is then the film is pretty fun. Violet is shallow, dumb, naive and generally gives women a bad name. She treats the one person in NYC who gives a damn about her like he's some annoying school boy. She's arrogant and judgemental with zero street smarts and seems to lack any sense of self-preservation. The other characters are entertaining, clever and add lots of laughs so watch it for them and just roll your eyes at Violet's irritating performance.

The Little Mermaid
(2018)

So lame...
Nothing good about this movie. So slow and lame, bad acting, bad storyline, bad CGI... Whoever created this should be sacked. I doubt any kiddies will enjoy this cause there's very little action, colour, movement or fun songs... Yawn Fest.

Annihilation
(2018)

Very slow with very little happening
Very slow film, the plot was scarce with little character development... Too much Hollywood influence - humans believing that they are superior in all things, that all alien lifeforms are a threat and that projectile weapons are their greatest support... Audience gains no insight into what's causing 'the shimmer'... This is like a low budget movie or maybe the budget was all spent on CGI with none left over for anything else...

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant
(2009)

not really impressed
I liked the story line but the acting was shallow, especially Chris Massoglia he was quite boring to watch with little facial expression and an annoying twang in his voice. The story felt like it should have had a better introduction, many things were unexplained. Josh Hutcherson's acting was good, though his character was also a bit lacking in depth. I would have liked to see more to do with the Cirque, some of the 'freaks' had potential for a good side story, i would like to know how they came to be there and how they became freaks in the first place. It's like the directors expected their audience to have already read whatever book it was based on. As a final note, good idea but i think i could have been more polished.
