Ah, the classic Romeo and Juliet story- warring families, two companions, tragic endings. The Fox and the Hound has a very powerful message, brought together with sweet animation and Disney storytelling that no one can top. This is a very good movie, although I wouldn't rank it as high as films like Pinocchio or Lady and the Tramp.
Musically, this film leaves a lot to be desired. It just doesn't have the same memorable tunes as some of the other Disney films. The score seems rather generic... nothing really special. However, the voice acting of young Copper is just precious.
The animation was bit plain for my tastes, but not all of it was bad. For example, the way young Tod and Copper were animated as pups was absolutely adorable! In fact, this movie would probably get more, "Awww,"s than laughs. The subplot of the birds chasing the caterpillar, in my opinion, was rather boring. I would've liked to see them focus more on building the main characters.
But despite its flaws, the Fox and the Hound is truly one of the more powerful Disney films. It's message is timeless, it's characters memorable. All in all, the Fox and the Hound may not be one of the best Disney films, but it is certainly not the worse. I enjoyed it.

But still a disappointment. Let's look back to the original film for a moment. Overall, not much dialogue. The humor was scarce but touching, the fawns a picture of innocence. Now take a look at Bambi 2. A lot of unnecessary yapping in between cheesy pop songs. Some of cute moments, some jokes reused from the original, and the movie even has its fair share of toilet humor. The fawns are now rambunctious and argumentative, at points even fighting with each other.
Now I'm not saying that Bambi 2 has to be a carbon copy of the original, but shouldn't it at least possess a similar tone? There were many things I did like about this movie- the animation was spectacular, and the movie was, overall, pretty sweet. The original movie had a style that's hard to emulate, I'll admit. And hey, toddlers will probably pay attention to this one much longer than the first.
However, in history, there are some films that just shouldn't be touched. Cinderella? Aladdin? Okay. But Bambi 2, as entertaining as it was, left me with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. However, for what it's worth (a cheap, straight to DVD release), I guess I can't complain.

Ah, the Teletubbies. I remember those weekday mornings at two and three years old, waking up early for this show. Okay, it's not the most educational kids show, but my gosh is it entertaining. Before half of it was boring and computerized, the Teletubbies was one of the most entertaining kids programs on TV.
I suppose the individuality is part of it. Each kid has a different favorite (mine was Poe), and love to watch the four of them interact. They'd watch a video from some kid at home every week, and I remember always hoping it would be Poe to present. Sure, adults find it boring, but children love to watch the Teletubbies, Nunu, the bunnies, and the little sun baby. Ah, yes, featuring real animals was a plus.
For adults, it's difficult to understand what makes the show so popular with kids. But I suppose, as a fourteen-year-old who can still recall my fond memories of this show, it's a little more believable. If you love to see your kids laughing and getting really excited over a TV program, give them the Teletubbies.
