Oxygène
(2021)

Like a modern Twilight Zone episode-sorta
Even though I didn't "love" Oxygene, this is what I think a modern Twilight Zone episode should feel like. Reminded me a bit of "Five Characters in Search of an Exit". The movie runs for 100 minutes and I had some issues, the beginning took a long time to get going and the ending seemed rushed. I did feel there was some originality and it's worth watching if you are a sci-fi fan. Definitely did not feel like a major theatrical release though, don't expect "Interstellar", expect more something like "Moon" in regards of magnitude.

Coming 2 America
(2021)

OK to watch once if you are a fan of the original
It feels like they put in some effort, but the end product was barely funny.

The highlight of the film was the new barbershop scene.

The rest felt just like they were going through the motions.

Way too much screen time spent on the son (with no Eddie or Arsenio around).

It was nice seeing some classic characters and actors back throughout the film.

Worth watching at least once if you are a fan of of the original and already have Amazon Prime. DO NOT pay separately or go to a theater to watch, don't fall for it.

Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?
(2019)

Amazing
This is the closest you can get to a revival of the original show, it has added enough modern stuff so that it does not come across as dated but at the same time it has been able to capture a lot of the magic and humor of the very first original Scooby Doo show. I hope this show lasts several seasons.

I still consider Scooby Doo Mystery Inc the best version of anything Scooby related (yes, I like it even more than the original).

Creed II
(2018)

Felt kind of unnecessary
Adonis, who is in his late 20s in the movie behaves more like he's in his very early 20s, actually seems to have regressed mentally since the first movie (perhaps too many punches to the head?).

This behavior was more understandable for the character during the first movie, he was younger, had mostly been by himself, had not met Rocky nor Bianca, hadn't become a world champion, nor found love.

Out of the multiple unrealistic parts of the entire movie (which have become more grounded since the 80s) was that I couldn't believe how a professional boxer would train like this.

During a training montage Adonis gets punched several times, (begins bleeding internally?), a significant amount of blood comes out of his mouth and his trainers and sparring partner would just encourage him to stand up to keep training for the fight... WTF.

The ending was good, the way they wrapped Rocky's, Adonis's and the Drago's stories.

But the rest of the film fell somewhat flat and 'rehashy', unlike the previous installment there was no shuffle of the formula.

4/10 because of it's 'Rocky saga DNA', not displaying the villains as generic and Stallone's presence.

The Imagineering Story
(2019)

Interesting but.
There are many interesting things in this documentary, but I have also researched a lot about the company during Walt's lifetime and after his death and not everything was as nice as depicted on The Imagineering Story.

Do not forget that this was entirely produced by the Disney company instead of a neutral third party production company and a lot of things (turmoil) have been omitted.

I recommend reading Disney War and perhaps also watching the Walt Disney documentary produced by PBS from 2015, "American Experience Walt Disney".

Even though The Imagineering Story is roughly 6 hours long a lot was omitted and overall we are being served a sugar-coated version.

A lot of the archival footage and stories being told by people who were actually there was extremely interesting and worth the watch.

7/10

Coffee & Kareem
(2020)

I feel cheated
There's a lot of content that I enjoy from Netflix, but when they use the money us users pay them and throw it away to make crap like this I'm tempted on cancelling my subscription.
