Need for Speed
(2014)

Awesome
I saw an advanced screening of Need for Speed at NAS Pensacola for free and went in with no expectations. I actually expected it to be really bad. But my hand to god....it was awesome. There is not a dull moment in the entire movie. With a countless number of street races, police chases, and car crashes i was entertained throughout its two hour run time. But of course all of this time spent on the action scenes comes at the cost of a well thought out plot. It was pretty formalistic and predictable. but what did you expect from a movie based off a racing video game? There were no stand out performances by the actors but no one was bad either. Kid Cudi played the comic relief and he did a lot better than i expected having no prior acting experience. Overall if you're looking for a very intense and entertaining movie this is it. Hopefully now Aaron Paul wont just be remembered as "the guy from Breaking Bad". 8/10

Salt
(2010)

pleasantly surprised
I went into salt with extremely low expectations (mainly because Jolie was cast as the main character and I've never been much of a fan of hers) but the story line had enough twists to keep me engaged the entire time.

The acting is mediocre and some of the characters who seem like they should have had a larger part in the film are killed off at what seems to be too early. Yet even with these flaws the story is entertaining enough to be worth the $7.50 i paid to get in.

Now by all means this movie isn't GREAT as by my standards a 8/10 is easy to come by, but its still entertaining and worth the watch.

Inception
(2010)

Just when i thought 2010 couldn't get any better
2010 is proving to be a landmark year for cinema, between Kick-Ass, Shutter Island, Toy Story 3, and now Inception this is probably one of the best years in movies that i have ever experienced.

There isn't much to say about this movie besides the visuals are spectacular, the acting is as good as it gets, and the story is one of the best in the past 10 years. The beginning of this movie is a bit confusing because it throws you into the middle of it right away, but if you can pull yourself together and make it through the first 15 minutes you will not regret it.

Overall Inception has quickly become one of my favorite films, and 2010 one of my favorite years.

Land of the Lost
(2009)

i don't know why people thought it was bad
I honestly can't think of a single decent reason people didn't like this movie. Sure, there wasn't that much "character development" but who cares! It's a comedy, and a pretty damn funny one at that.

Will Ferrel was hilarious as always and had an amazing screen presence with Danny Mcbride.(who also was very funny)

All in all an entertaining movie that should make 95% of its audience laugh, which is the point of this type of film.

So to all the people who complain about the story line or character development, you just aren't able to enjoy a funny movie.

p.s-to all the people out there who also have problems with action movies because "their wrist's weren't flying back when they were shooting two desert eagles in mid-air." (see Boondock Saints 2) you once again just don't have the capability to enjoy an entertaining movie without pointing out some sort of unrealistic feature.

Rambo
(2008)

oh...my...god
This movie reached and EASILY passed my expectations. At first i was worried Stallone would ruin the series by making a new Rambo but this by far is the best Rambo yet. Even though it is amazing i don't recommend letting your 9 year old see this unless you want him growing up to be some blood crazed maniac. That is mainly because this is without a doubt the second bloodiest movie i have ever seen (behind Ninja Assassin). But because of that it just makes it even more bad ass. So if you want to watch an incredible action movie masterpiece i highly recommend Rambo.

(P.S) whoever thought of the final battle scene with that 50 caliber machine gun cutting people in half deserves a raise.

Dragonball Evolution
(2009)

It had so much potential
This was probably the biggest disappointment in a film of my life. It would of easily rivaled other movies based off classic toys and TV shows if it had a better director and was less corny. All they had to do was make it pg-13 and they would have been able to take out all of the parts that you actually feel embarrassed to watch, and add fight scenes that were a little more graphic and realistic. The acting was a little shotty in places, but with a storyline this bad it would'nt matter who was in it. The worst part though was easily put on the director and producers. Whether it was the obviously fake backgrounds or the fact that they developed and showed how the characters were so badly. Overall they should try Dragonball Z again, but should put on a little bigger budget.
